慧月って本当に「ふつつかな悪女」だよな？前もってよく考えもせず、計画もちゃんと立てなかったから、今その「復讐計画」が見事に失敗してる。玲琳は人生最高の時間とも言えるものを満喫してる一方で、慧月は思ってたよりずっと弱々しい体で苦しんでる

Keigetsu really is an "inept villaness", isn't she? She did not think things through beforehand and plan well, so now her "revenge plan" is failing spectacularly. Reirin is enjoying what you could say the best moments in her life, while Keigetsu is here suffering in a way more frail and weaker body than she has expected.

ちょっとだけ慧月がかわいそうに思える自分もいる。
重い罪を犯したのは明らかだけど、あの憎しみに満ちた性格は、朱家の女官たちから何度も虐げられてきたせいで育ったものみたいだし。
で、やっと幸せな人生を手に入れたと思ったら、まったく新しい問題が山ほど待ち構えてた。これは彼女が求めてた「愛」とはちょっと違うよな。
玲琳の元の生活についていこうとする中で、慧月がいつか成長してくれるといいな

A part of me does feel a little sorry for Keigetsu.
She’d obviously committed a grave crime, but this hateful personality of hers seems to have been fostered by repeated abuse from the Shu-clan’s court ladies.
And now that she thinks to have finally acquired a happy life, Keigetsu finds out that a whole set of new problems awaits her. This is not exactly the “love” that she’d longer for.
I do hope that Keigetsu will eventually better herself while trying to keep up with Reirin’s old life.

この後宮って、不幸な人間が他人を不幸にする競争のサイクルで回ってるみたいだな。慧月が病気のときに誰かに気遣ってもらえて、あんなに喜んでたのがすべてを物語ってる。だからって罪が許されるわけじゃないけど、玲琳の優しさが実は珍しいものだってことがわかる

It seems like the court runs on a competitive cycle where miserable people make others miserable. The fact that Keigetsu was so glad that someone cared for her when she was sick was pretty telling. That doesn’t excuse her crime, but it shows that Reiren’s kindness is actually rare.

殿下は手に入れたけど、同時に病弱な体と、心から尽くしてくれるけど主に執着しすぎてる侍女たちもついてきた。しかも侍女たちは、本物の玲琳みたいに病気でも有能でいられるって信じてる。インポスター症候群、発動！！！

She's got the prince but she's also got a frail body and handmaids who, while utterly devoted, are also obsessed with her and believe she is capable of being as competent through her sickness as the actual Reirin. Imposter syndrome GO!!!

慧月の肩を持つと、病弱なお姫様が少年漫画の主人公も納得するようなトレーニングメニューをこなしてるなんて、普通は思わないよな

To be fair to Keigetsu, most people wouldn't expect the sickly maiden to have a training regimen that a shounen hero would approve of.

慧月の体に入った玲琳と、玲琳の体に入った慧月の方が、元の体にいたときより見た目的に魅力的に感じるのって変かな？

いや、言いたいことはわかる。大事なポイントは、（少なくとも視聴者から見ると）二人とも目は自分のままってこと。これが仕草以外の見た目もガラッと変えてる。玲琳の体は、慧月の燃えるような赤い目と感情のおかげで強烈な迫力を得た。第1話で火越しに話してたシーンは本当にそれが強く出てた。一方で慧月の体は、丸っこい黄色の目と張り詰めてない表情で、すごく柔らかくなった

No, I know what you mean. One important thing to note is that (at least to us) they keep their eyes, which strongly changes their appearance besides just their mannerisms. Reirin's body gained a strong intensity with the fiery red eyes and emotions of Keigetsu. In episode 1 when she was talking through the fire this really came across strongly. Meanwhile Keigetsu's body softened greatly with the rounder yellow eyes and less strained expressions.

The real Keigetsu thinks she’s won but she has no idea our girl is really living that good life. She’s suppose to be exiled and in utter hell and she’s just over here playing farmer lol. Meanwhile, the real Keigetsu’s finding out it ain’t all fun and games being Reirin. She thought it would be a spa day but nope!

I can grow my own farm! I don't care about status or marriage, just let me be an herb-loving girl!'' while everyone else is baffled. Ironically, if Keigetsu had tried to get to know Reirin without scheming and proposed to her the body swap, Reirin would've likely said yes.

I actually wonder if Keigetsu and Reirin might eventually reconcile? They could even intentionally decide to keep the swap in place if Reirin gets hit with the character development hammer.

なんだかんだで、本物の玲琳が本物の慧月を（もっと）健康にしようと全力を尽くす方に賭けるわ。物語の流れ的に（本物の玲琳の心優しい性格も含めて）ほぼそうなるしかないと思う。でも本物の玲琳がどうやって本物の慧月と連絡を取れるのかがわからない

I am betting that somehow, some way, OG Reirin is going to do her best to help OG Keigetsu get (more) healthy. I feel the plot (including OG Reirin's kind-hearted nature) practically demands this. But I don't see how OG Reirin can even get in contact with OG Keigetsu.

なんか怪しいんだよな。
タイミングとか、あの「冷たい」目線とか。それに、そんなに優しくて思いやりがあるなら、なんで今まで慧月の朱家の使用人への態度を正さなかったんだ。
慧月の父親が術師崩れだったことや、慧月に古代の禁術を使える力があることを、なぜか知ってたとしても驚かない。で、その力を自分のために使わせたかったとかね。

I've got a feeling that "Noble Consort Shu, who had been visiting her family home by coincidence...." , wasn't merely a coincidence.
Things seem suspicious.
The timing, her "cold" gaze, and the fact if she's so kind and caring why didn't she correct Keigetsu's behavior towards the Shu's workers before.
Wouldn't be surprised that somehow she knew about Keigetsu's father being a failed sorcerer, and that Keigetsu somehow had the ability to use ancient forbidden magic. And that she wanted her to use that power for her own benefit.
But I guess we'll see.

The eunuch was surprised, the Eagle-Eyed Captain just seems to be rolling with this new version of Keigetsu that he can get behind.

She didn't even register her new living conditions to be punishment. As far as she's concerned, she's in heaven.
As an introvert, if you give me the tools to fix that place, I'd consider it paradise, too. Not having to deal with everyone else constantly, free from constant and fake socializing would be great. Plus the view is solid, I can see why she's happy.

This is definitely gonna be an anime to look forward to. Reirin living her best life while everyone tries to put her down while Keigetsu slowly realises Reirin's life was not as easy as she thought.

The irony that the one person she can probably trust/rely on is the one person she would never trust/rely on because of all the abuse the actual Keigetsu foisted on her.

慧月のいじめは正当化できないけど、考えてみたら朱家での慧月と莉莉の立場ってすごく似てるんだよな。二人とも基本はのけ者で、慧月は序列でいい位置にいたから、やり返して意地悪できただけ。てか今回、二人ともネズミって呼ばれてたし

Keigetsu's abuse wasn't warranted but if you think about it Keigetsu and Leelee's positions in the Shu court are very similar. They're basically both outcasts, Keigetsu just had a good position in the hierarchy to be petty right back. Heck, they're both called rats this episode.

With all the face hiding of the "ivory clothes" woman, I'd be very surprised if the Kin clan was involved at all.

今期で一番好きなアニメの一つになりつつある

This is becoming one of my favorite anime this season

なんでかうまく言えないけど、マジでめちゃくちゃ楽しい

I can't quite put my finger on it why but holy hell it's so enjoyable

障害をなくしたら何が起きるかを見せることで、障害がどれだけ人を縛るかを描いてるのがいいと思う。外から見ると、障害のある人はもろくて打たれ弱くて、甘やかしてあげないといけないように見えがちなんだけど、実際に見えてるのは、日々の生活をこなすのに必要な強さを差し引いたあとに残ってる困難なんだよね。
玲琳の心を健康な体に移したことで、その強さが全開になってる。慧月が体を起こすのにも苦労してるのと並べると、玲琳が入れ替わりでどれだけのものを手に入れたかがよくわかる

I like the way it captures how disabilities can be so limiting by showing what happens when you remove them. Outsiders looking in often see disabled people as fragile, lacking resilience and needing to be coddled, but in reality, what they see is what challenges remain after factoring in the resilience needed for the disabled person to manage daily living.
By transferring Reirin's mind into a healthy body, that resilience is put on full display, and the parallel to Keigetsu struggling to even sit up just shows off how much Reirin has gained from the swap.

今回、玲琳が人生を謳歌してるのを見るのはすごく楽しかったけど、それに対する莉莉や他のみんなの困惑した反応がもっと良かった！
一方、慧月は思ってたほど玲琳の体で苦戦してないね。でも侍女たちがトレーニング用具を持ってきたときは確かに驚いてたな、ははは！
玲琳と莉莉の関係がどうなっていくか、それに他の雛女たち（金清佳以外）が玲琳にどう接するのかがすごく楽しみ。
あと、朱雅媚が早く出てきてほしい。すごく気になってる。両親を亡くした慧月を引き取ったんだから良い人そうだけど、なんで慧月があんなひどい性格になるのを放っておいたんだろう

They say "living well is the best revenge" and Reirin is ironically and unintentionally showing up all the people who judged and hated Keigetsu by living her best, humble, life. Though honestly Leelee probably needs Reirin in her life.

正直これ「今期のアニメ」候補になるかも。強い候補がめちゃくちゃ多いから、その座は他に取られるかもしれないけど、それでも有力候補だよ

Honestly this might be an "anime of the season" candidate. Though it might get beaten out for the title because there's a LOT of strong candidates it's still a contender.

冬雪が「薬師を呼ぶ」って言ったとき、真っ先に猫猫が頭に浮かんだわ。半分くらい本当に出てくるかと思った。もうその単語は猫猫と結びつきすぎてる

When Tousetsu mentioned they'd be calling the apothecary, Maomao immediately came to mind. I half expected her to show up. I now associate that word too much with her.

よくある悪女ものの設定にぴったりはまるわけじゃないけど、はめふら（カタリナ）と比べられてるのも分かる…まあ何にせよ最高だ

I'd say this doesn't perfectly fit the usual villainess setup, but there have been comparisons to Bakarina... well, it's great nonetheless

最後に二人が向かい合って、足元の水面に本当の姿が入れ替わって映るシーンが大好き

I really love that scene at the end where they face each other and their real selves are transposed in the water below them.

だよな！最初は元の体で家の色をまとった二人だけが映って、そこから体が入れ替わっても家の色はそのまま、って流れがいい。面白いのは、玲琳は黄色い蝶で表されてるのに、慧月はネズミじゃなくて赤い花で表されてるところ

It is! I love how it starts with just them in their original bodies with their clan colors and then they have their body switched but they keep the clan colors. Interestingly enough, while Reirin is represented as a yellow butterfly, Keigetsu is represented by red flowers rather than a rat.

I’m so looking forward to Leelee slowly warming up to Reirin and eventually becoming best friends.

玲琳は慧月の体のまま周りを驚かせ続けそうだなw みんなの反応が面白い。配属先にあんなに大喜びしてたのも笑った。あのボロボロの食糧庫にいいところを見出せるのは玲琳だけだわ
慧月が、玲琳の人生も思ってたほど楽じゃなかったと気づき始めたのはよかった。急に玲琳への気持ちが変わるとは思わないけど、少なくとも第一歩にはなった

Reirin is just going to keep surprising everyone in Keigetsu's body it seems lol, the reactions are amusing. The way Reirin got so excited about where she's been placed was also amusing, only she would see the positives of that rundown pantry.
I'm glad Keigetsu is starting to realize Reirin's life wasn't as easy as she thought it was. I don't think she'll magically change how she feels about her, but it's a start at least.

Reirin is already putting her new body to work. It didn’t even take her a full day to turn this abandoned shack into a small farm. Perhaps it’s no wonder that she consistently overexerted her old body.
Also, I appreciated that they’d kept the torn sleeves on Reirin’s dress from the judgement trail. That’s some good attention to detail.

Honestly curious what's going to drag Reirin back to court and back to fine gowns because she seems way happier gardening and living her isolated life in the wild (as it were).

選べるなら、この調子じゃ玲琳が朱家の殿舎に戻るとは思えない。新しく手に入れた自由が楽しすぎるんだよ

If given a choice, I don’t see Reirin returning to the Shu’s Court Palace at this rate. She’s way too happy with her newfound freedom.

昨日ヒマつぶしに何となく1話を観てみてよかった。すごく楽しんでる。朱家の妃（朱貴妃）がすごく気になる。何を考えてるのか読めないんだよな。この状況はあの人なら最初から止められたように思えるし（そもそも経験のない慧月をなんであんな重要な立場に選んだのか）

Glad I watched the first episode on a whim of boredom yesterday, I'm really enjoying this. Super curious about the Shu courtesan, I can't get a read on her, because it feels like she could have stopped this entire situation from developing (and why pick Keigetsu to be in such an important position in the first place with no experience).

And yeah Keigetsu might have earned her infamy but she's got her reasons for lashing out.

The passage of time is weird in this anime. Even if all the plants have sprouted, they won't look like that in the day or 2 that it was planted into the ground.

Oh she definitely would, shes too nice to just steal(or refuse to return) someone's body for her own benefit.

体を奪われて評判も地に落ちたのに、今回楽しんでるキャラは玲琳だけ。罰すら効いてなくて、農家ライフを満喫してる
一方の慧月は、玲琳が世間の思ってた以上に病弱で、しかも完全にイカれてることを知る。侍女たちが出してきたメニューのうち一つくらいはできないとバレるぞ（自分ならお経を選ぶ）
莉莉は、一緒にいるのが一番ふつつかな悪女で、かつ一番腕のいい農家で運がよかったな。そうじゃなかったら、たぶん嘘の約束に振り回されながら飢えてたところだ

Even though she had her body stolen and her reputation ruined, Reirin is the only character having fun this episode. Even the punishment doesn't work on her, she is just enjoying her farmer era.
Keigetsu meanwhile finds out that Reirin was even more sickly than people thought and also completely insane. She better be good at least with one of those things the maids offered or they'll catch her (I'd pick the sutras personally).
Leelee is lucky she is stuck with the most inept villainess but most skilled farmer or else she'd starve while being strung along by most likely false promises

莉莉が中身の玲琳をいじめるのは難しいだろうな。どう見ても玲琳は侍女を甘やかして妹みたいに扱うもん

It is going to be tough for LeeLee to bully OG Reirin, because she is clearly going to pamper her lady in waiting and treat her like a little sister.

黄家の苦難に対するスパルタっぷりを考えると、それが一番の人格形成になってるんだろうな

Considering how spartan the Kou house is on hardship, I guess it just builds her character the best way

今回も最高の回だった！すごく楽しんでるし、このシリーズがこれだけ丁寧に作られてるのが本当に嬉しい
