今期、タイトルが「追放された」で始まる作品が二つもあるのが気になる。

I haven’t seen manga chapters threads for it here, despite this current arc being pretty solid I’ve been too lazy to make any, and it just got an official TL for the early chapters last month so that might be part of it’s momentum.

It's weird because this is a comedy so it can be completely ridiculous, but the unironic versions in other shows are the exact same way so it's still just as annoying.

Honestly I couldn't pinpoing a particular dark age or gold ages for guild girls, there is always at least a couple of cute ones every season

映像の出来がとんでもない。ギャグの間がちゃんと効いてるし、効果音も笑いを強くしてる。世界そのものが生きてるんだ。ただの、追放されて実は最強だった作品とは違う、特別なものだと感じる。

God damn the production values are insane. The comedic timing works. Sound effects make it hilarious. The world is alive. You can FEEL like this is something special and not just some generic kicked out from a party and I had OP powers.

こんなに映像の出来がいい追放ものは、初めて見たかもしれない。今まで見たものは、手堅いものから普通のもの、かなり厳しいものまでって感じだった。

I don't think I've ever seen a "Banished" series with production values this great. They've all pretty much ranged from solid, to average, to absolutely weak.

ひどい作品だと思って見始めて、靴ひも係のミームだけ書いて帰るつもりだった。ところが本当に良かった！ 最初のギルドがあまりに単純で呆れかけたけど、すぐに大げさなギャグ漫画なんだと分かった。何もかも誇張してるし、それがちゃんと面白い。受付嬢も、本当にレインが好きなわけじゃなく、愛想よくして怪しいギルドに引き込もうとしてる気がする。でも本人にはまったく伝わってない。かわいい子に興味はあるのか？ 頭の中には冒険しかなさそう。

Holy s**t. I came in fully expecting rancid dogwater, post the "shoelace" meme, and bounce.
This was actually great! At the start, I was rolling my eyes out how one-note the first guild was, but it became very clear, very soon, that this was an absurd gag-comedy. Everything is supposed to be over the top and exaggerated.
And it works!
Hell, I don't even think the receptionist is actually into him. She was just acting cute to hoodwink the rube into joining her s****y guild. Which also bounced right off his head. Completely. Is blud even interested in cuties? Seems to have only one brain cell, and right now, it's fully focused on "ADVENTURE."

背景、キャラデザイン、芝居、アニメーション、そして勢い！ 生き生きしてて、よくあるファンタジー系ラノベへの疲れが吹き飛ぶ。話も遠慮なくふざけてて、すごく新鮮だ。

Oh my goodness, the backgrounds, character designs, the character acting and animation, the ENERGY! This show is so full of life, it'is curing my fantasy-LN-slop-Type-C fatigue! The writing is so unapologetically cheeky too. It's SUCH a fresh spin.

レインから、ラブラドールの子犬みたいな元気が110パーセント伝わってくる。

P.A.WORKSが『帝乃三姉妹』をアニメにしたときを思い出す。オリジナル作品じゃなく、よくあるジャンルの原作を扱うときでも、本気で作ってきっちり見せてくれる。

It reminds me of when PA Works adapted the Mikadono Sisters. Like when they adapt a property that's not a PA Works original and it's in one of the typical genres, they still commit and absolutely deliver.

最初はぴんと来なかったけど、建物を真っ二つにしたところで乗ってきた。すごくおかしな作品になりそう。リリィが自信をなくした理由も気になる。

若いうちにSランクまで行って、そこで一度頭打ちになったから、次に何をすればいいか分からなくなったのかも。あるいは、勝てないドラゴンに初めて出会って、それ以降戦えなくなったとか。

I get the sense that her career basically peaked because made it to S-Rank at so young so she just didn't really know where to go from there.
Unless she finally fought a dragon she couldn't actually beat and now she can't fight them or anything anymore.

今の予想は、誰かとドラゴンを倒しに行って、その人が亡くなったか、本人に何か起きたってこと。大きなけがは残ってないけど、治癒魔法が失った手足まで戻せるほど強い可能性もある。

My current assumption is either she went to fight a dragon with someone and they got killed or something bad happened to her (though either it didn't maim her or healing magic is powerful enough to undo even stuff like lost limbs).

ITの仕事をしてるから、主人公に共感する。みんなを支えてたのに役立たず扱いされて解雇されるところも、自分の仕事の成果を回収するところも、身に覚えがある。手順書もなしに運用できる人は頑張ってくれ。ともあれ、P.A.WORKSらしく映像は見事だし、楽しそうな設定だ。町や雰囲気は『このすば』を思い出した。

As an IT guy I can relate with the MC. The part were he gets fired after boosting everyone and is labeled useless, is right on the money. And the part where he takes his s**t back is also right on the money. Good luck to whoever can manage this without a KB.
Anyway, this one is absolutely stunning as expected from P.A Works. Seems like a pretty fun premise and we can already see some shenanigans. The vibe and the town reminded me of Konosuba.

変なのは、ついさっきまで強化のおかげで武器が良くなったと褒めてたこと。今すぐ追加の強化が必要なくても、新しい人が入ったり、武器や防具を買い替えたりするだろ。それに、ほかのギルドに同じ有利さを渡したくないはず。

The weird part is they were praising him a minute prior saying how much his enchantments improved their weapons. Even if they didn't him enchanting more right away, surely they'd recruit new people or get new weapons and armor eventually? Or just not want someone else to also have their competitive advantage.

最初は上の人が経費を削って、現場は彼が必要だと分かってる話かと思った。でも、なぜかみんな彼を嫌ってる。武器を買い替えて、また強化が必要になったらどうするつもりだったんだ？ この世界の仕組みもまだ分からない。彼だけの能力なのか、遠くから解除できることをみんな知ってるのか。初期装備をここまで強くできるなら、安い装備をまとめて強化するのが普通になっててもよさそう。

Yeah at first I thought it was going to be like "Oh the higher ups are cutting costs but the people who actually use his enchantments know he's essential", but no, everyone just hated him for no reason. What was the plan when they wanted to upgrade their weapons and enchant again?
We're also not familiar with this world's power system so we don't know how enchantment usually goes, is it unique to him? Do they know enchants can be remotely removed? Seems weird for it to not be a common strategy to just massively boost cheap equipment if you can get the stats this high on starter items.

「適当に誰かをクビにしよう、面白いから」。現実味がない脚本と言いたいけど、ここ数年のテック企業のCEOもそんな感じだ。AIにのめり込むより前からね。

I'd say that was unrealistic writing but it's exactly how tech CEO's have been operating for the last few years. And that was before they started falling under AI psychosis.

何も問題が起きてないからって、仕事がいらないわけじゃない。誰かがちゃんと働いてるってことだろ。でも数字を上げて自分が出世したい経営者は、不要だと思った人を簡単に切る。AIの話で、さらに悪くなった感じがする。

I don't think its that hard to understand that if everything is mostly fine, it doesn't mean there's nothing going wrong. Just means people are doing their job. But since most CEO's just want to push numbers to get themselves a big boost to go to a main branch or whatever the f**k CEO's dream of nowadays, they'll happily fire people they deem unnecessary.
Oh yeah, the AI thing just made it even worse.

The art is also really pretty, as expected of PA Works. I like how wonky the backgrounds are.

しかも、説明してる相手本人の顔に向かって、その人の説明を声に出してるんだよな。

And also he vocalizes his own exposition straight into the face of the person he's literally expositing about lol.

言葉も間違えてたね。字幕で伝わってたかは分からないけど、笑った。

レインの服で、絡んできた男の指が全部やられたのはすごかった。3000以上のポイントがあれば、かなり強くなるんだな。キャラの変な表情も楽しい。まだ第1話だけど、リリィとレインがどうドラゴン討伐に向かうのか待ちきれない。

The silly expressions on the characters is fun too. It's only the first episode and I can't wait to see how Lily and Rein tackle this dragon hunting quest.

第1話はかなり笑った。この先が楽しみだし、今期の注目作の一つになるかもしれない。

This first episode was pretty damn funny.
Definitely gonna look forward to watching how this show plays out, and might be one of the highlights of the season.

デクのヒーローへの熱意を全部、付与と冒険に向けて、気まずさや遠慮もゼロにした感じか？ リリィの過去を、本人の前で声に出して説明するとか。

What if Deku channeled all his enthusiasm for heroes into enchanting and adventuring and also had zero awkwardness or filter (like narrating Lily's backstory out loud)?

何となく第1話を見たら、予想外だった。前に似た設定で見たのは『Aランクパーティを離脱した俺は』。こっちは明るい主人公で、ギルドの女の子がツッコミ役になってる。初めて『このすば』を見たときを思い出す。『ギルドの受付嬢ですが』のアリナが彼に会ったら、早く全部のダンジョンを片づけてって言いそう。

Randomly decided to watch this first episode and I'm surprised too. The previous similar premise i watched was "I left my A-Ranked Party to help my former students"
This one has a light hearted MC and there's comedy with the guild girl being the tsukkomi. Reminds me when I first watched Konosuba lol.
I imagine Alina Clover (MC of "I may be a Guild Receptionist" anime/LNs) would have gone "hey you. Please help clear all the dungeons ASAP" if she ever met this guy.

Amazing animation with godtier comedy, plus the timing of the jokes is so perfect and the reactions of the characters are so wonderfully over the top.
This one is a keeper!

ギャグの場面でレインとニーナがあの顔になるデザインも、すごく愛嬌がある。

The immense pride and then crying and running away in first few minutes literally reminded me of early Aqua.

He's the Dennis Reynolds of the group. The rest of the group are complete morons so while not being especially smart he's able to solve most of the problems they come to him with.

見事だ。追放ものが全部このくらい愛嬌と笑いを持っていたら、もっと好きになる。面白かったし、みんな好きだ。リリィは何をしてたんだろう。功績が全部嘘だったのか、怖い目に遭って冒険をやめたのか。この作品の感じだと、ものすごくしょうもない理由かも。待ちきれない。

Bravo. 👏. If every kicked from my party show had the charm and humor of this I'd like them a lot more. This was great.

So funny. I loved all the characters..min curious what Lily has been doing..was all her feats just lies? Did something scare her too bad she stopped adventuring?
I got the sense something bad happened and Blue Crystal was the only place she could go where they'd take her in without any question (hence them being a "good" guild) while she hid from the world.

今期の別の追放ものとは、まるで違う。先に見た魔力貸与師のほうは、進みが遅くて退屈だった。第1話ではほとんど何も起きず、笑いもなくて、主人公が強くなるらしいけどまだ見せない。こちらは何度も笑えて、追放の導入が短く、強さをすぐ見せて脇役にも会う。まず説明するより、第1話で引き込むように作ってる。

It's night and day versus even another "kicked from my party" anime this season. I watched Magic Repo-man earlier this week and it was quite slow, dull, and boring. So little happens in the first episode. It has zero humor. Supposedly the MC will get OP, but it's not shown at all in EP 1.
Here we have quite a few laughs, a very brief setup of kicking him out, and we're quickly shown he's extremely OP while also meeting some supporting members. An EP 1 actually designed to hook you in instead of tell a backstory before anything good.

魔力貸与師のほうは、元のパーティーを嫌わせることに第1話を丸ごと使いたかったんだろう。でも視聴者は、最初から嫌う展開だと分かってる。そのせいで、作品を際立たせることに時間を使えなかった。2話一挙なら見る理由まで届いたかもしれない。こっちは数分で追放を済ませて、残りの時間で続きを見たい理由をくれた。テンポがずっといい。

Magic Repo-man really, really wanted you to hate his original party. They wanted it so bad they spent the whole first episode on only that.
The problem is the viewer already knows they're going to hate them going in. So they left themselves no time to do anything to make the show stand out. Maybe if they'd gone with a two episode release they'd have gotten to a reason for me to watch it.
This show handled the pacing so much better. We were done with the kicked out in a few minutes and they spent the rest of the episode giving me reasons I would want to watch the show.

I hope people learn to call it Chifuyo as that's the shortened version. It seems to have no popularity overseas.

絵柄がすごくいい。使い古された追放の定番を、笑えるものに変えてる。殴った男の手がああなったし、きつい描写も避けないみたいだ。毎週楽しみにする。

Man the art style is crazy good. They took a worn out kicked from the party trope and turned it into something hilarious. Not to mention seems like they’re not afraid to show some gore considering that dudes entire hand was exploded when they punched him.
I’ll be looking forward to this one weekly.

The highlights of this title, at least based on this first episode.
1) The funny and wacky facial expressions.
2) Straight (wo)man Nina.

定番の導入を使うファンタジーが、一つの調子に集中してるのはいいね。ドラマ、恋愛、お色気、アクション、コメディーを全部詰め込んで、どれも中途半端になる作りじゃない。徹底してコメディーだから、続きが楽しみ。

It's so nice to see a fantasy show with a trope premise that focuses on a specific tone instead of doing the jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none approach where they try to have drama, romance, fanservice, action, and comedy all sharing the same space in an unwieldy manner. This is a comedy through and through, very excited to keep watching.

首の太さで、そのキャラがどれくらい嫌なやつか分かるのが好き。

I love how you can tell how much of a jerk a character is by the width of their neck

まだ5分も見てないけど、言いたい。付与魔術師が追放されて、去り際に指を鳴らして全部の強化を解除し、ギルドが崩れる話を書いたらどうかなと思ってたんだ。こういう作品の主人公は、普通は反撃せず我慢するから。まさか、見たいと思ったことを本当にそのままやるとは。それだけで気になった。何となく『ソウルイーター』の雰囲気もある。見終わっての追記。この作品を好きになりそう。『真夜中ぱんチ』と同じ制作会社だと知って、見覚えのある感じにも納得した。

I'm not even 5 minutes into the episode, but I want to say this.
As he was kicked out, I thought to myself "I should write a pilot story chapter with the premise that the enchanting mage gets kicked out, and he then snaps his fingers as he leaves to dispel all the enchantments as a middle finger" and the guild/party collapses almost instantly.
I thought this knowing that, in everything else, the kicked out one never does anything retaliatory and just takes it in most cases...
I was not expecting this one to ACTUALLY DO IT, exactly how I thought I wanted it to happen. Just for this point alone it has caught me attention and gotten a bonus point. Now to see what the rest of the episode is like.
Also, something about it is giving me Soul Eater vibes.

I think I am going to love this one. Learnt it was done by the same studio who did Mayonaka Punch, no wonder it felt familiar.

タイトルを見て期待せずに始めたけど、演出がすごく風変わりで、それを映像にきっちり落とし込んでる。ありきたりな設定が、見る価値のあるものになってる。作ってる人たちも絶対楽しんでるだろ。

I saw the title and went with low expectations but the direction is so eccentric and the production executed that vision to its best that it turned a trash concept to something worth watching.
They're definitely having fun while making this anime

何があっても前向きなレインは、『勇者の肋骨』の主人公を思い出す。怪しいギルドを追い出されて、すぐもっと怪しく見えるギルドに入るのも好き。

Rein reminds me of the main character from Hero's Rib with his unflappable positivity.
I like that he got kicked out of the one shady guild and immediately picked up with a guild that looks even shadier.

そのうえ、冒険者版の引きこもりみたいな女性とも組む。

Also parties with a woman who is effectively the adventurer equivalent of a hikikomori.
