作中でもそれとなく言われてたけど、ゲーム内は時間が3対1で引き延ばされてる。それでも現実で50時間、水もトイレも無しってのはヤバい

It's kinda been said in the show, but there's a 3:1 time dilation thing in game. Still, 50 hrs irl time with no water or bathroom breaks is nuts.

むしろ4対1だな（ゲーム内192時間＝現実50時間）。でもゲーム内のタイマーは現実の時間の速さで減ってたから、ゲーム内の時間を現実みたいに体感する、ガンゲイル・オンライン型の時間の引き延ばしってことだ。つまり体のほうは50時間だけど、脳と心は丸8日を過ごすことになる
それと、そう、映ってたVR機器の絵を見る限り「排泄処理」は付いてない。でも1時間を4時間に感じさせる魔法みたいなことができるなら、排泄物を電子信号か何かに変える魔法だって無いとは言えないだろ

More like 4:1 (192h in game = 50h real time). But the in-game timer was showing ticking down in our real time, which means it's the Gun Gale Online type of time dilation where you experience the game time as if it were real. That is to say, 50h will pass for his body, but full 8 days will pass for his brain/mind.
And yes, from the image shown of the VR rig, there's no "waste disposal" involved. But if the rig can magically make 1h feel like 4h, who's to say it can't also magically transform bodily waste into electronic signals or something.

It's also really funny, because the saviour, who will likely be Grid, will get the Apostle of Justice title. Huroi will get the Partner of the Apostle of Justice title, which gives him a stat increase when he's near the Apostle of Justice. Grid really dislikes Huroi, but with this setup they'll most likely be forced into a party together.

ほぼ精神的な拷問だよ。現実では2日だけど、ゲーム内の時間は少なくとも3倍は遅いから、合計で8日。人間なら当然生き延びられる。飲まず食わずだけど、精神的には8日間あの牢屋にいることになって、中でも腹が減るし、それも感じる。何かあったときのために、モンゴル支社から人を送って様子を見させてもいる

Its pretty much a mental torture. Its equal to 2 days of time but ingame time is slower by atleast 3x. To a total of 8 days. Obviously human can survive those. No eating and drinking but mentally, he is staying in the cell for 8 days and they can be hungry in there and they feel it too. They also sent people from Mongolian branch to monitor him incase something does happen to him

I think there's a lot of fun potential here by setting up Yura as a skill based player and Grid as the guy who wears equipment that breaks the game.
All that being said, the game design of this game is... like, actually bad.
You are telling me that no one has figured out that there is a dual class system, only a handful of people know that you can alter quest progression by talking to NPCs and that you can be locked into an ingame jail for 8 days?
Also what is up with these NPCs who all have fully simulated lives, how would that work with thousands of players running around one town?

I mean I am on board with this anime because Episode 2 was actually really fun. I just love nitpicking. It's more for entertainment value instead of "Oh my god this thing is bad so this entire anime is bad >:(".

All that being said, the game design of this game is... like, actually bad.
That's just about every one of these MMO-based adventure stories. They generally fill the games with tons of one-time-only FOMO stuff that only the main cast gets access to and loads of other mechanics that would make the game horrible from the average player's perspective

だから『シャングリラ・フロンティア』が好きなんだよな。ずっと公平で、条件が揃ってる。ゲーム内に隠された強力な要素もあるけど、力や影響の大きさはまるで別次元ってわけじゃなくて、ほぼ世界観の味付け程度。で、何かが影響を持ちすぎると（主人公が次元収納を悪用して隠れたり回復したりしたみたいに）ナーフされるｗ

This is one reason I love Shangri-La Frontier. A much more fair and level playing field. There are some hidden and secret powerful things in game but they are nowhere on the same power level or impact..its mostly lore flavor. And if something becomes too impactful (like him abusing the dimensional storage to hide/heal) they nerf it haha.

Game has only been out for like 6 months, also you dont get to pick/unlock two classes by yourself..
Not like you pick a warrior, then pick up a bow and now you got archer as a dual class. Thats not how the game works.
Its special unlocks hidden behind a requirement, and its ofc not told to players.

I think there's a lot of fun potential here by setting up Yura as a skill based player and Grid as the guy who wears equipment that breaks the game.
Considering she gets flack for having a "normal" job that she's managed to persevere and become as famous and strong as she is in-spite of, it'll probably make her hate Grid even more than she already does seeing how much he lucked into what's slowly making him a top player.

Huroi's job class is 'Orator' and it looked like he tried using a skill before talking to the Mero guy. It's probably way harder for most players to change quests like that.
The AI NPCs are more believable than full dive gaming but SAO has made it a trope at this point. It's better to just not think about technology that deeply.

I think it doesn't work against the Mero guy because it's actually a player. One with a job that can act like a NPC (provide quests) and hide its own player marker

でも、プレイヤーが40億人いるらしいのに誰も二つ目の職業を解放してないってのは首をかしげるってのは同意

My guess for the dual class system is that it's super rare. It's not something like, you hit lvl 100 and unlock a second class. It's likely something where you need to trigger very esoteric flags in very specific quests to unlock the potential to add a second job.
But I do agree with you that with supposedly 4 billion players, it raises an eyebrow that noone has unlocked a second job class.

Its because a 2nd class is really hard to get. You either have to do something special or get it as a hidden quest like huroi did. He only knew about it i think? Because he played beta and probably accidentally discovered it there.

The game AI is pretty advanced to straight up have an NPC who can boss around other players and be the classic FukuJun smooth manipulator.

運営もラビットのことを隠れたプレイヤーみたいに言ってた気がした。エピック職のおかげでプレイヤーからも正体を隠せる、みたいな。それか、ユーフェミアがもう一人のエピック職持ちのプレイヤーで、ラビットが彼女を連れてくることが二重職業を解放する鍵になる、とか

I also felt that the game company was referring to Rabbit as a hidden player too. Like his epic class allows him to disguise himself even from players. Either that and/or Euphemia is the other player with an epic class and Rabbit bringing her in would be the key unlocking dual classes.

I don't think I buy Rabbit being an NPC. As shown before, NPCs can teleport as the game needs them to but Rabbit takes a carriage to meet with the girl.

Huroi tried to defend workers’ rights and got thrown in jail in the game for that. I wonder if the situation is any better in the world outside the game.

So 8 in games days is 50 hours so it's roughly 6 hours for a game day. That definitely is not a normal amount of time to be logged in when you can't eat and drink or take bathroom breaks cause of the whole VR thing.
I sure hope this whole questline ends with Grid crafting Failure, the whale sword he blueprinted in the first episode.

Seriously, as soon as the 50 hour timer started I could think of nothing else for the rest of the episode. This guy really just shrugged at sitting in his own waste for 2 days. You can forgive a lot with these dumb stories but COME ON.

I think there's plenty of people in the world who would take this quest on. Plenty wouldn't, but you're acting like it breaks your suspension of disbelief that there are people in the world who would be willing to tolerate it.

このゲームがクエストをその場で動的に作ったり変えたりできるってことが、もっと知れ渡ってないってのはちょっと信じられない。ボス戦の攻略法なんかが秘密にされてた、エバークエストみたいなゲームの初期とは違うんだし、これだけ大勢がやってるゲームなら、Wikiにしっかりまとめられて、YouTubeの動画なんかでも語られてるはずだ
で、ふと思ったんだけど、グリードってWikiを読んだりYouTubeの動画を見たりするだけの頭があるのかな。行き当たりばったりでうまくいくのを祈ってるだけに見えるし

I'm not sure I buy that this game's ability to dynamically create and modify quests on the fly wouldn't be more well known. This isn't the early days of EverQuest and similar games where stuff like boss fight strategies are kept secret, there's so many people playing this game that it would be well documented on the wiki and discussed in YouTube videos and such.
Now I'm just questioning to myself if Grid is even smart enough to read wiki's and watch YouTube videos considering he just seems to wing it and hope for the best.

Im really enjoying the show being in and out of game. Its a jump to accept that your real life is affected by sucess in the game, but once you take that leap its a fun premise. Definitely seems like we are going to get more of that going forward.
This dub is so good - i'd recommend watching it. They have nailed the gamer mentality and lingo

It's already stated that Pagna's inheritance gives the owner not only one skill, but multiple skills that linked to the main profession of Blacksmithing. Not only that, since Erina didn't have the hidden Persistence stat even if she copied the skills she won't have enough stat to completely copy what Greed could make.

That company has .... weird ethics. It's nice they are monitoring him (no privacy at all btw, they have all his data AND track his live vitals thorugh their totally non-intrusive hardware xD), but generating a quest that may kill him IRL from exhaustion is a little ... spicy.
At least they care about their game, all the top brass watching live the games story development? Yeah, with todays suits that would never happen ...
