tbf, if he grew at an acceptable pace, he'd be doing jackshit for like a year before he's able to contribute to the guild outside of making gear, since they've nolifed this game more than he has. They do make it a point that it took forever for him to win a difficult fight without needing his oneshot protection passive, but that was only recently in the manhwa

The Euph thing annoys me because [spoiler]She got set up with this conflict she can't overcome, has a deal with Grid for some specific item to be made, and helps him save the corrupt knights potentially putting them together for future adventures and then all the plot points either get sidelined by her being unable to find blueprints even though Grid could just design an orb for her and Grid gets to randomly meet the conflict target and get a quest from it that won't involve her from going to the ice cave[/spoiler]

アニメ勢だけど、今のところかなり気に入ってる。この先どうなるか知らないけど、主人公の共感できる性格や境遇はある程度残してほしい。ドジったり小悪党っぽかったりするおかげで、お決まりのチートスキルがあっても面白い。バランスがいいんだよ。あと男友達がいて、ハーレムに一直線じゃないのも面白い

As an animeonly I like this a lot so far. Not sure what happens later but I hope they keep some of the main character's relatable attitude and circumstances. His stumbling and gremlin attitude keep it fun even with the typical bullshit cheat skills. It's a balance. Also interesting how he has male friends and not just speedrunning a harem full of bitches.

とはいえ、鍛冶仕事を通じてゆっくりマシな人間になっていく成長物語になるといいな。でもバカなノリと顔芸はたくさん残しておいてほしい。

He's such a little s**t gremlin that he's entertaining. A terrible person, I'd hate him IRL, but watching him be a s**t to everyone else is funny.
Hopefully though the blacksmithing is part of a slow character arc for him to become a better person, but keep many of the antics and faces up.

I am very much only watching it for the humor and silliness and Grid being a dumbass right now, because otherwise it would just be a pretty standard power fantasy isekai/litRPG, and we already got tons of those. At least this one doesn’t take itself seriously and Grid has a funny personality even if it is a rather s****y one.

前回話してたAIっぽいシステムが、その場で動的にクエストを生成してるんだろうな。プレイヤーごとに独自の没入感を出す面白いやり方だ。とはいえ、グリードはその点で普通のプレイヤーが必ずしも受けられない特別扱いを受けてるのかもしれない。
割と簡単に作れる物があれだけ価値があって他のプレイヤーに売れるなら、あいつの懐事情はかなり早く好転しそう。
でもNPCのお姫様アイリーンに見つかったら終わりだな。あの指輪を使ってシンデレラみたいに居場所を突き止められるならだけど。

I assume the AI-ish thing they talked about last episode must be dynamically creating quests on the fly, interesting way to make a game uniquely immersive to each player. Though maybe Grid is getting special treatment along those lines that regular players don't necessarily get.
Seems like he'll be able to turn his personal fortunes around quite rapidly if the stuff he can make fairly easily is so valuable and can be sold to other players.
Bro is doomed when NPC princess Irene finds him though, assuming she can use that ring to track him down Cinderella style.

NPCそれぞれに性格や過去や成長の物語があって、プレイヤーの接し方次第で、偶然そのNPC絡みのクエストに出くわすこともある。すごく生き生きしてて作り込まれたシステムって感じがする。

It definitely feels like a very vibrant/robust system that the NPC's have their own personalities/backstories/character arcs that can lead players to chance upon quests involving them depending on how they interact with said NPC's.
Does Irene have to trek all the way back to her family home all on her own? I feel bad for her.

思ってるよりずっとクオリティ高いよ。作画も良いし、面白いし、自覚的なノリもある。
2話時点だと話はまだ割とありがちだけど、まあね。普通に楽しい。

A lot higher quality than you expect. Well animated, funny, self aware.
The plot so far is kinda basic still 2 eps in, but yk. it's good fun.

主人公がクズなのに、なぜかめちゃくちゃ愛嬌があるっていう。

The main character is somehow both a scumbag and incredibly endearing.

NPCの過去話でいちいち感情移入しちゃうやつは、なかなか嫌いになれないよな。

Hard not to like a guy who gets emotional about npc backstories.

一方では、ゲーム内のキャラはデジタルな作り物だって丸分かりな死に方をする。
一方では、すごく好感が持てて愛嬌があるから、結局本物の人間みたいに見えちゃうんだよな。

On the one hand, in-game characters die in ways that make it obvious they're digital constructs.
On the other hand, they're so likeable and endearing you see them as real people anyways.

最初はどうせ量産型の駄作だろうと思ってたけど、『最強の領地開発者』と同じ空気を感じるし、ハマってる。

Originally I was expecting slop but it's giving me the same vibe as The Greatest Estate Developer and I'm into it.

言われてみればちょっとそうかも。『最強の領地開発者』には（いろんな意味で）全然及ばないけど、主人公にロイドと同じ「根は善人なクズ」って雰囲気はある。

A little bit, now that you mention it. It's definitely not remotely as a good as Greatest Estate Developer (in multiple ways), but the MC kind of has the same "Scumbag with a heart of gold" vibe that Lloyd has.

英語吹き替え版で見てるけど、今のところすごく良い。グリードのクズっぷりがかなり笑える。ジシュカにブラジル訛りを付けてるのはなぜか意外だった。見る価値あるよ。

I am watching the English dub and so far it is really good. Grid's shittyness is pretty funny. They actually gave Jishuka a brazilian accent, I don't know why that surprised me but it did. It's worth a watch.

英語吹き替え版だと、みんなキャラの出身地に合わせた訛りになってるのが大好き。ジシュカはブラジル訛り、レガスはイギリス訛り、ベントナーはカナダ訛り。ギルドの残りのメンバーもこの調子でいってほしい。

In English dub I love how they all have accents that reflect where each character is from. Jishuka has a Brazilian accent, Regas has a British accent, and Vantner has a Canadian accent. Hope they keep it up with the rest of the guild.

へえ、マイナスレベルってたぶん意図された仕様なんだな。レベル1になった時にパッシブが有効になったってメッセージが出てたし、誰かがわざわざそれを実装したってことだ。ステータスの上がり幅があまりに小さいから、開発者が別の開発者に「ちゃんと上がってるよ」って指摘しなきゃいけなかったのかもな。パーティーが他のプレイヤーを判断する基準はどうも装備の質みたいだから、その装備を着られるレベルに上げるほうが大事なんだろうけど、このクラスはそこをすっ飛ばせるんだよな。

Huh, negative levels are probably an intended mechanic since Grid got that message that his passive was now active when he reached level 1 meaning someone took the time to code that in. I wonder if the stat gains are so trivial that the dev had to point out that you do get them to the other dev. Gear quality does seem to be what parties judge other players on it seems like so getting to the levels to equip that gear seems to be what's more important but this class bypasses that part.

probably should. Where EP1 was quite fast and a lot, they tuned it down a bit for EP2. Next couple of episodes will show if they pace it properly. We are just starting though but I am afraid they are going to rush a bit too much

おお、1話よりずっと良かった。主人公も結局は救いようのないバカじゃないかもって兆しがやっと見えてきた。前提の設定が固まった今、伸びしろがたっぷりある楽しい作品だ。

Wow, this was way better than the opener. Finally seeing some signs the OP might not be a braindead moron after all. This one is fun, with plenty of potential now that the premise is set.

あいつはまだバカだけど、努力を大事にするようになったところと、家族が支えてくれたところは良かった。金を稼いで、感謝のしるしとして家族にしっかり恩返ししてほしいな。
でもバカとはいえスキルはかなりチートだし、普通に成長していけば（実際そうしてる。鍛冶の腕を上げたり、金を稼いだり、レベルを上げたり、要は定番のMMOの流れだ）強くなるはず。
結局これはゲームなんだし。

He still is stupid, but I like how he gets to respect hard work and I liked his family supporting him. I hope he can make some money and pay them back nicely, just as a sign of thankfulness.
But even though he is dumb, his skill is very op and if he just progresses naturally (which he does, trying to get better at blacksmithing, making money, gaining levels, classic MMO stuff, basically), he will become powerful.
This is still a game after all.

I was almost disappointed he got the sword again because I loved the idea of him fighting with just an arrow as a physical weapon.

アニメのスタッフはレガスのバカっぽさを完璧に表現してると思う。間抜けな表情と、とんでもなくムキムキな体のギャップがネタのすべてなんだよな。カーンの登場はちょっと駆け足に感じたけど、次回でもっと出番があるなら許す。あと酒場のシーンのBGMは、あのカオスな雰囲気にさりげなくぴったりだった。たぶん深いストーリー重視の作品にはならないだろうけど、空気感はもう完成してる。

i think the animation team nailed regis's ridiculousness - that contrast between his goofy expressions and his absurdly jacked body is the whole joke. and failure's design? chef's kiss. they didn't hold back on the leather and the smug smirk. khan's entrance felt a little rushed, but i'll forgive it if next episode gives him more screen time. also, the background music during the tavern scene was lowkey perfect for that chaotic energy. probably won't be a deep plot-heavy show, but the vibe's already locked in.
