すごく気に入った。キャラのセリフ回しと、みんなで飯を食いながら好き勝手しゃべる場面の多さで、井上が書いたってすぐ分かる。あれがまた性行為の暗喩なのかどうかは知らないけど。

I really liked it, you can tell it's written by Inoue right away given the dialogues of the characters and the big number of characters eating together and talking s**t, which may or not be a metaphor for s*x again.

EDも楽しそうだ。OPほどじゃないけど、それでもいい曲。本当に楽しい第1話で、続きが楽しみ。EDの映像が悪の美人たちに焦点を当ててるのも面白い。

Cool guys don't look at explosions, and neither do cool mecha. In episode music is also bumpin'. Studio understood the assignment.

So the badguys in this anime are dinosaur kaiju? And man I love how meaty sounds are in mecha anime. As they move the Dandavine unit into place everything chunks. And the buildings sinking underground is f*****g sick.
The ED seems fun though not as good as the OP, still a bop though. Really fun first episode and I'm excited for more. And interesting the ED imagery focuses on the evil hot girls.

この作品はノスタルジーについて何か言いたいことがあるように感じる。それをどこへ持っていくのか気になる。
玩具会社の社長、アポスドールたち、戟刃の叔父といったキャラは、みんな過去に囚われているようで、日本が危機にあってダンデヴァインがいた時代を恋しがっている。戟刃の叔父は、先のない仕事に就いて甥に飯をたかる中年なのに、いまだに熱血ティーンエイジャーみたいに振る舞うし、社長に至っては世界の終わりが来ても構わないとはっきり言う。
その一方で、戟刃たち今の世代は完全に舵を失っていて、情熱がないか、ボクシングの世界チャンピオンだの弁護士だのサッカーのスター選手だのといった、漠然とした偉大さのイメージを追いかけているかのどちらかだ。
じゃあ物語はそこからどこへ向かうのか？　若者が目的を与えられ、年寄りが自分たちは幻想を追っていたと気づく、その中間のどこかだろうか？　見守るしかない。

It feels like the show has something to say about nostalgia and I'm curious to see where it's going with it.
Characters like the toy company president, the Aposdolls and Gekiha's uncle all seem stuck in the past, longing for a time when Japan was in danger and Dandivine was here. Gekiha's uncle still acts like a hot blooded teenager even though he's a middle aged man in a dead end job and bumming meals off his nephew and the president straight up says he wouldn't mind if it was the apocalypse.
On the other hand, Gekiha and the modern generation are completely rudderless, either lacking in passion or chasing some sort of vague idea of greatness like becoming a world champion boxer/lawyer/soccer star.
So where does the story go from there? Some sort of middle ground where the kids are given some purpose and the old folks realize they're chasing a fantasy? We'll have to see.

正直、今期のオリジナルのメカ作品3本の中では、これにいちばん期待してる。『レイアース』が良いものになるのはみんな分かってるからな。
スーパーロボットやメカは時代遅れだ、という自虐から始まるのは、メカアニメを観て育った身としてはかなり悲しい。それにしても、ダンデヴァインに栄光を取り戻すために平和ではなく混乱を望むなんて、あのじいさんはやりすぎだ。（不）幸なことに、事態は彼の望みどおりに進む。（ネタバレ）『サムライフラメンコ』みたいに。
戟刃は顔以外すべてが並で、そこに共感する人は多いかもしれない。でも可愛い彼女がいるじゃないか、どこが並なんだ？　それと叔父さんの話がもっと欲しい（連載中の漫画でやってる）。抜けたところはあるけど、ダンデエースだけであの怪物を倒せる優秀なパイロットなんだから。
あの防衛組織は、次の侵略への備えを実際に十分整えていた。『ビッグオー』みたいな地下トンネル網に、ファイティングリングとディバイディングドライバーの間に生まれた子みたいなやつまで。でも次回のサブタイトルから察するに、事態はひどいことになって、戟刃が引き継がざるを得なくなるのか？
ああ、それとEDでは3人組が踊ってる。彼女たちが中立だという暗示なのかどうかは分からない。まあ、今どきは悪のほうが売れるしな。

Ngl, among the three original mecha shows this season, I have the highest hope on this, since we all know Rayreath will be good.
It opens in a self-deprecation that "super robot/mecha is outdated", which is pretty sad for someone grew up watching mecha animes. Even so that old man went too far for hoping chaos instead of peace to bring Dandivine to its glory. (Un)fortunately things go into his way like [Spoiler]Samurai Flamenco.
Gekiha is just mid in everything except his face, which many may relate, but he still get a cute gf so where's his mid? And we need more tales of his uncle (it is in an ongoing manga), while ditzy at some point he's still a great pilot to beat that monster with just Ace.
That defence organization actually got enough preparations against another invasion, from the tunnel networks like Big-O and the bastard child of Fighting Rings and a Dividing Driver. But judging from the next episode title things will go to s**t and force Gekiha taking over?
Oh, and the ED has the trio dancing, Can't tell if it hints their neutrality or not, evil sells these days anyway.

小西克幸は師匠キャラのノルマをこなしつつ、なぜ彼がスーパーロボットのパイロット役の定番なのかも見せてくれている。
勇作は戟刃に後を継がせるつもりなのか？　だから連れてきた？　戟刃が操縦を始める理由が必要だし、アニメの師匠キャラの寿命がどんなものかは俺たちも知ってるからな。
あのリングは、民間人の犠牲を抑えるのに都合がいいんだろう。

I'm going to guess Gekiha is going to find his passion in piloting Dandivine and that will help his relationship with Akane. Maybe.
Katsuyuki Konishi fulfilling his pre-requisite quota of mentor characters while also showing why he's a go-to for portraying Super Robot pilots.
Is Yusaku intending for Gekiha to succeed him? Is that why he brought him in? Because we need a reason for Gekiha to start piloting and we know the life expectancy for mentors in anime.
I guess the ring should be convenient for limiting civilian casualties.

Well, that obviously wasn’t the best thing ever, but it’s still enough fun that I’m sure I’ll enjoy this.
The kind of cheese that tastes like meta can either do well or fail horribly and we'll see how this plays out!

This was a lot of (dumb) fun! The robot looks cool, the characters are (so far) all a bit basic though. And of course, there's the obligatory INOUETM food stuff in it
I would be shocked if the evil Vocaloids don't get more screen time and marketable plastic figurines down the line. Comeon Good Smile, don't leave me hanging!

So is this a sequel or an original? Seems like this world already has an established lore with Dandivine and the Aposdolls. Like this isn’t their first battle. Regardless, this wasn’t half bad. Usually don’t watch much mech anime, but this seems ok.

3人の（敵役？）女性キャラに焦点を当てたEDの映像が、ただの釣りじゃないことを願う。
これからの回で彼女たちの出番がもっと増えるといいな。寝返るのか？　アイドルになるのか？　ｗ

I hope the ending theme sequence focusing on the 3 (antagonistic?) female characters is not just bait.
Hopefully, we get to see more of them in upcoming episodes. Will they switch sides? Will they become idols? Lol!

このアニメの脚本は井上敏樹。特撮で三角関係の定番を使うのが大好きな人だ。

The writer for this anime is Toshiki Inoue, who loves using the love triangle trope in tokusatsu.

回ごとにEDの映像が違う作品（春アニメの『上伊那ぼたん、酔へる姿は百合の花』を参照）でないかぎり、EDの主役だった彼女たちが物語の重要な部分であり続けないとしたら驚くよ。

Assuming this isn't a show with different ED graphics per episode (see: Botan Kamiina from Spring), I'd be shocked if they aren't an ongoing important part of the story when they were the focus of the ED.

作品紹介から、出だしでもう少し『ダイ・ガード』っぽさを期待していたけど、それでも十分いい始まりだったし、続きが楽しみだ。

Given its series description, I was hoping for a bit more Dai-Guard out of the gate, but this was still a plenty good start and I'm looking forward to more.

メカのデザインが大好きだ。それにみんなが指摘してるように、この物語はノスタルジーや、現代における生きる目的について何か言うことがあるのかもしれない！

I love the mecha design and as people have pointed out, this story could have something to say about nostalgia and purpose in modern times!

この回はいろんな形でノスタルジーを突いてくる感じだ。主人公は見た目以外はミスター平均。作品がそれを何度も念押ししないと気が済まないみたいだった。最後のアクションはまずまず。次回はもう少し盛り上がるといいな。
正直、ここのコメントがなければ、昔のメカシリーズの続編か何かだと思っていたはずだ。

The episode seems to hit nostalgia in ways. Protaginst is Mr. Average except for his looks. Like the show had to keep reminding you of it. Action was decent at the end. Hopefully it picks up a bit next episode.
NGL if not for the comments here I would have thought this is some sequel of an older Mecha series.

これはまた、怪獣の恐怖を再び日本に解き放つ理由としてはずいぶんメタだな。
この第1話はいろいろ詰め込まれていて、そのかなりの部分が自覚的に作られているから、どう展開するのか興味がある。

Now this is a very meta reason to unleash the kaiju horrors upon Japan again.
There's a lot going on in this first episode, of which quite a bit is self-aware enough that I am interested to see how it plays out.

今のところ特に感心するところはないけど、この回が嫌いというわけでもない。メカものは大好きだから、今後の回で大コケしないかぎりは付き合うかもしれない。

Nothing too impressive yet, but i don't hate this episode either. I love mech series so as long as the show doesn't s**t the bed in the following episodes, i might just stay along for the ride.

I get the feeling the one of the aposdolls will end up betraying the big bad at some point.

この作品は笑えるし、とんでもなくメタだ。作っているグッドスマイルカンパニーは、バンダイの最大級の競合の一つみたいなものだから。悪役側のビルは浅草にあるバンダイ本社ビルをほぼそのまま写したものだし、20年前のものを出し直すっていう皮肉も、バンダイの商品展開やマーケティングへの当てこすりだ。会議やマーケティングの場面にいる人たちも、バンダイナムコで魂ネイションズやガンプラや玩具のチームを率いる役員たちになぞらえたものだと思う

This show is funny and meta asf, it is made by goodsmile company which is a like one of bandais biggest competitors. The bad guys building is basically a 1:1 rip of bandais main building in asakusa and the dig of releasing things from 20 years ago is also a dig at bandai's product release/ marketing. I believe the people in the meetings and marketing is also a analogue of Bandai Namco's executive directors of team in tamashii nations, gunpla and toys

I was excited for this, but now I'm disappointed. Hopefully with this show just needs time to warm up

ああ、ちょっとがっかりだ。20年後のキャラたちを描く、脱構築ものみたいな作品になると思ってたのに、焦点は子供たちのほうにあるみたいで、普通の作品にしか感じられない。

Oh, im a little dissapointed, i thought it was going to be some sort of deconstruction show about characters 20 years later, but the focus seems to be on kids, so it just feels like a normal show.

オリジナルアニメにはいつも期待して臨むんだけど、これはちょっとひどかった……キャラは誰一人として個性がないし、2D作画もかなり凡庸。オリジナルだからもう1話だけ付き合うけど、これにはがっかりした。

I always go into original anime hopeful but this was kinda bad... none of the characters have personalities, and the 2D animation was pretty mediocre. I'll give it another ep just because it's an original, but this was disappointing.

Pretty basic as a first episode. But I'll continue to watch it. it's been a while since we got an original Mecha anime, much less a Super Robot one.

アニメのメカが時代遅れのものになっていて、玩具会社のCEOが大量破壊の古き良き時代に戻りたがっている、というコンセプトには興味がある。だから間違いなく観続ける
それ以外では、この第1話にはあまり感心しなかった。脚本の初稿みたいな感じがしたんだ。たとえば主人公くんが財布を落として硬貨を全部見る場面。目がすごくいいことを仕込んではいるけど、それ以外に何の情報も出てこないから、置き場所がすごくぎこちなく感じられて、勢いをいくらか削いでしまっている。

i'm intrested in the concept of the anime mechas being an outdated thing, and the ceo of the toy company wanna back in the good old days of mass destruction, so i'm definitly gonna keep watching
other then that this first episode didn't really impress me, it felt like this was the first draft of the script, like the scene where mc-kun drops his wallet and looks at all the coins, it setsup he has really good eye sight, but other then that it gives no other information so it ends up feeling really awkwardly placed and takes away some of the momentum.

I didn't grew up with the og gridman tokusatsu and like the anime gridman which I learned from an azur lane collab

GSC has made Gridman toys and model kits that but thats a Tsurubaya property

An MC who's perfectly normal and average. That's... not a very compelling watch

お金が空中にあるうちに一瞬で数える場面は見せてたよ。何か分析的な才能の伏線みたいだった。

They did show him instantly counting the money while it was in the air, which seemed like a foreshadowing of some sort of analytical talent.

そうだな、何かが彼をメカか何かのパイロットとして特別にするんだろう。でもそれで彼の性格が観ていて面白くなるわけじゃない

Right, something will make him special to pilot the mechs or whatever but that doesn't make his personality more interesting to watch

普通なら同意するところだけど、今のところそれは彼の欠点として描かれているようだ（彼女は彼の退屈さに少しがっかりしていて、妹は彼女に振られると言っている）。だから後でキャラの成長の題材になるのかもしれない。
脚本は『ジェットマン』も書いた井上敏樹だから、いくらか信頼はしてる。

I would agree normally, but so far it appears to be supposed to be a character flaw (With his girlfriend being a bit disappointed in how boring he is, and his sister saying the gf is going to dump him) so it might be subject to character development later.
The writer is Inue Toshiki who also wrote Jetman, so i have some faith in him.

I've said before during the announcement of this anime. If Super Sentai is ending, but we got this kind of classic mecha anime yearly then I'm totally fine with that
