第3話は、元仲間の3人がついに魔力ゼロに気づき、レントの側では「スキル購入」が解放される回。4chan では、馬車の窓から外を眺めるエンピーに「あの子、何を見てるんだ？」と問う声へ「まだ借金してない人たちだよ。今のところは。」と返すなど、エンピーを取り立て屋として眺める書き込みが続きました。Reddit では、最大MPの増え方を放置ゲームになぞらえて、自分なりに計算してみせる人が目立ちます。
一方で、欲しいスキルを何でも買えるという展開には「ぶっ壊れすぎだろ。」という声もあり、「この作品のいちばんの不満は、説明しすぎなところ。」という指摘も出ています。それでもエンピーの人気は相変わらずで、評価は少しずつ上向きのようです。

新しい仲間の面接をことごとく断った「天空の剣」の3人は、首に浮かんだあざに気づき、自分たちの魔力がゼロになっていると知る。一方レントは、かつて鍛錬したメルバの大迷宮を目指し、エンピーと高速馬車の旅に出る。道中で魔力運用を続けた結果、最大魔力は4700台まで増え、新たに「スキル購入」が使えるようになった。迷宮に着いたレントは、買った短剣術と火魔法で魔物を倒し、初めて自分の力で戦う手応えをつかむ。その頃、別のパーティーでは、青い髪の少女が仲間に回復を断られていた。

If this class was put into a proper MMO, it would be really popular. Down time is something everyone hates, and trying to complete raids as quickly as possible is what guilds are always trying to achieve.
Having what is essentially dead wait in DPS isn't a problem since it keeps the healers and magic DPSers active.

今回を見てて、ふと思いついた……最初に魔力運用をしたとき、使ったのはその時点の自分の最大MPだけじゃなかったか？ 本人の分であって、貯金箱にためた分じゃない。そこで、運用と今度の購入には、何か欠点か条件があるのかもと引っかかった。
貯金箱のMPは、運用にも購入にも使えない。もう一つありそうな欠点か条件は……自分にMPを貸すことも、貯金箱のMPを自分にあげることもできない、ってことだ。
銀行はこういう「数字のやりくり」をいつもやってて、自分で上限を決めてるし、FDICやら何やらからも上限をかけられてる……要するに、預金がなくなったときに銀行が入る保険と、銀行が客からむしり取らないように見張る人たちのことだ。銀行は預かった現金を全部投資に回すことはできない。明日1ドル引き出したいのに、それが株や債券に「ポン！」と消えてたら、とんでもない話だ。だから客がまとめて引き出したり、相場が暴落して投資が焦げついたりしたときに備えて、預金の一定の割合しか投資しない。
じゃあ、もし貯金箱が「金庫」の仕組みで……貸したりあげたりできる相手がほかの人だけだとしたら？！ 先週と先々週に自分が考えた、貯金箱でMPを回復してから運用に回して最大MPを上げていく「回転ドア」方式は使えない。自分に使えるのは本人の最大MPだけ。本人のMPを使い切ったら回復を待つしかなく、貯金箱の上前をはねることはできない。貯金箱で購入もできない。
節約しなきゃいけなくなる。手に入る分で少しずつやりくりして、依頼や冒険や身を守るために使える分はたっぷり残しておく……でも、MPの回復率が正式に20%になったから、ほかの人の倍の速さで回復する。
どんどん運用を重ねて、購入や本人のMPの無駄づかいは控えないとな。
ステータスの羊皮紙に「スクロール」機能があったのはかわいかった。てっきり紙が物理的にどんどん長く伸びていって、読まないときに巻いておく巻物入れを買うはめになるんだと思ってた。SFでいうスマートペーパーみたいなものかな。見た目も手ざわりも紙なのに、中身はデジタルの画面になってる。書いたり消したり、動画や写真を映したりできる。めちゃくちゃ柔らかいタブレットPCみたいなものだ。
ok, while i was watching this Ep. something popped into my head... when he first Invested... didn't he ONLY Invest what his MAX MP STAT was at that moment? the personal one, not what he had saved in his Piggy Bank. that pinged a possible drawback or requirement he might have with Invest and now Purchase.
he CAN'T use Piggy Bank MP on Invest or Purchase. also, another drawback/requirement he might have... he can NOT Loan himself MP or Gift himself Piggy Bank MP.
banks do this 'number shuffling' all the time and specifically place limits on themselves and have limits put upon them by FDIC and FBC... basically the insurance banks get for loss of deposits and the folks who regulate banks to keep them from fleecing folks. banks CAN'T take ALL the cash they've had deposited and invest it. you might want your $1 tomorrow and if it is 'POOFED!' into buying stocks bonds etc. by the bank that's a biiiig no no. so they only invest a certain percentage of their deposits JIC there's a bunch of withdrawals and whatnot by their customers. or a market crash and their investments tank etc.
so, if his Biggy Bank is a 'lockbox' system... where he can ONLY Loan/Gift etc. to OTHER PEOPLE?!!? he can't use the 'Piggy Bank turnstile' system of MP Recovery then Invest to gain higher MAX MP STATs that i theorized last week and two weeks ago. he can only use his PERSONAL MAX MP STAT on himself. so if he spends all his personal MP he's gotta WAIT for Recovery, he can't 'skim off the top' of his Piggy Bank. he also can't Purchase with his Piggy Bank.
he will HAVE to be frugal. make do with what he can get in smaller stages, leave a deep enough MP pool to dip into for quests and adventuring and self-defense... but since his MP Recovery Rate is now officially stated at 20%... he will Recover twice as fast as everybody else.
he'll need to Invest rapidly and not Purchase or spend his personal MP pool unwisely.
it was cute that his Status Parchment has a 'Scroll' feature. i just figured it would physically get longer and longer and longer and he would have to buy a scroll keeper to keep it rolled up into when he wasn't reading it. it's kinda like that science-fiction concept of smart paper. it looks like paper, it acts like paper, but it is actually a digital display. you can write and erase and show videos and stills and whatnot on it. like an ultra-flexible tablet PC.

この作品がどこへ向かうのか本当に楽しみ。基本はまたしても「パーティー追放」ものだって分かってるけど、面白い。
それにエンピー（MP）は、自分の知る限り、ここ20年以上でアニメに出てきたいちばんかわいい妖精だと思う。史上いちばんかもしれない。とことんドヤ顔で、しかもギザ歯。この組み合わせは本当に最強だ。
Really looking forward to where the series is going to go. I knows the basic premise is yet another "kicked out of party" bit, but its fun.
Also Empee (MP) is arguably the cutest fairy that has appeared in anime in well over twenty years to the best of my knowledge, maybe even ever. The combination of ultra smugness with shark teeth is truly the most powerful combination.

エンピーの話に移ると、レントいわく、エンピーは馬車の窓からずっと外を見てる。景色に夢中みたいだ。すぐ思い浮かんだのが、さっきの手本の世界の暗い背景。エンピーも同じ場所から来たってことはないかな？
When Lent purchased the short sword technique and fire magic level 1 skills, the visual tutorial version attacked himself aggressively.
It appears Lent has since purchased a healing skill. I wonder whether the visual tutorial attempted to heal Lent menacingly. Lol!
Moving on to Empee, Lent says she keeps looking out of the window of the carriage. Empee appears to be fascinated by scenery. I immediately thought of the dark background of the above mentioned visual tutorial world. Could it possible Empee originated from the same realm?

今のあいつらの状態なら、レントがそれ以上に強くなるのにそう時間はかからないと思う。レントには有り余るほどMPがあって、向こうは力押し以外のことをするにもMPポーションを買わなきゃいけない。
もちろん、レントを襲うときにはポーションを使うだろうけど、その頃にはたぶん新しい仲間がいるし、スキルで仲間の成長を助けることもできるはず。
ただ、契約が果たされるまで3人はレントを攻撃したり傷つけたりできない、ってエンピーが言うんじゃないかと半分期待してた。
It probably won't take much for him to get stronger than they are in this state, he has mp to spared, and they need to pay for mp potions to be able to do anything other than brute force.
Of course, they will use potions when they attack him, but by them he will probably already have a new party member. And he will probably be able to use his skills to help the growth of his companions too.
But I was half-expecting Empee to say that they can't attack/hurt him while the contract is not fulfilled.

主人公の名前がレント（rent）で、妖精の名前がエンピー（MP）。かなりそのまんまだな。
The mc is named rent and the fairy is named Empee(MP). Pretty on the nose, that one.
クランチロールの字幕だと「Lent（貸した）」になってて、「Rent」よりもっとそのまんまだぞ。
On Crunchy the subtitle says Lent which is more on the nose than Rent.

首のあざがレントの呪いだってパーティーが気づいてくれてよかった。スキルを身につけたレントと出くわす場面が楽しみだ。ミサがガイに気があった頃から一転、呪いのせいでみんなピリピリしてて、恋愛どころじゃなくなってるのが面白い。
主人公が作るパーティー以外にも、本当に仲のいいパーティーが見てみたい。この作品じゃ望み薄だけど笑

I'm glad the party realizes the mark is Lent's curse, I'm looking forward to seeing them encounter him with his skills. Funny how they went from Misa crushing on Guy and now they're all on edge because of the curse, romance will be the last thing on their minds.
I hope we'll see a party that actually likes each other besides the one the MC will make, it's not looking good in this series lol.

要は放置ゲームをやってるんだよな。1日に7000〜8000MPくらいあったはずだから、それを最大MP80に変える。2日目には最大MPを81稼げる。回復も2倍にしたから、1日にさらに最大12増えて……って具合だ。
He's basically playing an incremental game. I think he had like 7-8k mp a day. Turn that into 80 max mp. Day 2 he can earn 81 max mp. He doubled his regen so that's another 12 max a day and so on
この作品を気に入ったかはまだ分からないけど、今回の話には期待が持てた。ほかの人も言ってたけど、だんだん放置ゲームっぽくなってきてる。最大MPを上げて生み出す魔力を増やすか（1時間に最大MPの20%が回復する）、スキルを手に入れてモンスターと戦い、ふつうのレベルを上げるか、そのあいだで投資を振り分けるんだ（ふつうのレベルが上がると最大MPがどれくらい増えるのかも気になる）。面白いと思ったのは、短剣術みたいなスキルの価値が上がること。たぶん使うのにMPがいらないから、基本スキルにMPを回して強くなるのを邪魔せずに、得だけがある。まだ答えが出てないのは、スキルをレベル1で買ったら、あとは使ううちに自然とレベルが上がるのかってこと。それに回復みたいなスキルは、回復が強くなるだけなのか、最大MPも増えるのか。
Not sure I like this show yet but this episode shows promise. Like someone else said it is sort of turning into an incremental game where he invests between increasing max mp so he generates more (gets 20% of his max MP/hour) and gaining skills that will let him fight monsters and get more traditional levels (curious how much normal levels increase his MP cap). One thing I find interesting with this is skills like short blades become more valuable as that one likely never requires MP to use so it gives a benefit without further hampering his powering up from spending MP with his base skill. One thing I don't think was answered was, once he buys level 1 of a skill does it level naturally through use? And with stuff like heal does it only make heal more powerful or will it increase his max MP?
ヒロインは、レベルごとに経験値がたくさん要る上級職か何かなんだと思う。でなきゃ、RPGの上級職の定番どおり、スキルが2つのクラスに分かれてるとか。
I'm gonna assume that the heroine is some kind of advanced class that needs more exp per level or something like that. Either that or her skills are split between two classes if we're going by rpg staples for advanced classes.
また「弱い」仲間をゴミ扱いして、そいつの本当の強さに気づかないパーティーだ。レントがMPを与えてから、吸い尽くして立場を逆転させてほしい。
自分の仲間をゴミ扱いするパーティーを、主人公が回って懲らしめていくアニメがあればいいのに。
Another grp that treats the "weak" as trash until they dont know how strong they were. Hope he turns the tables on them by giving mp then sucks them dry as well.
Wish there was an anime that a mc goes around and punishing parties that treat their own like trash.
あくまで予想だけど、最後の女の子は、仲間が逃げるあいだにダンジョンに置き去りにされて、主人公がそれを助けるんだと思う。そして実は、前のチームが使いこなせなかったすごく強いスキルを持ってたと分かる。しばらくレベル上げをしてたら、主人公の昔のチームが戻ってきて、二人を倒して呪いを解こうとする。でも主人公とあの子が強すぎて、あっさり返り討ちにする。それから何かのレアな魔物と戦って倒し、もっと大きな町へ旅立つ。昔のチームはたくらみを巡らせて後を追ってくる。シーズンの最後は、昔のチームが主人公に（もしかしたら主人公のいる町に）とんでもなく強いダンジョンのボスをけしかけて、主人公は青い髪の子の助けを借りてそいつを倒す。
Just guessing, the girl in the end is going to be left for dead in the dungeon while rest of the group escapes and main character saves her. Turns out she has some really strong skill that the last team didnt know how to utilise. Then they level for a while and the MCs old team comes back and tries to beat them and get rid of the curse but mc and the woman are too strong and easily beat them. Then they face some rare monster and beat it and travel to some larger city and the old team plots and follows them. Season ends in the old team attracting some super strong dungeon boss against the mc (or maybe against the town the mc is staying in) and mc manages to beat it with the help of the blue haired woman.
魔力を出し入れするスキルは、思ったとおりに働くなら強すぎる。貯金箱に自分のMPをためられないって弱点が消えるからね。少なくとも預け入れができるなら、いざとなったらMPポーションをがぶ飲みして貯金箱にMPを足し、もっとスキルを買える。
Magic Balance skill seems OP since if it works the way I think it does. It would negate the weakness of the piggy bank not being able to charge his own MP. At the very least, the deposit part would mean he could also chug MP potions to deposit more MP into the piggy bank to buy more skills if the need arises.
この作品全体をどう思ってるかはまだ決めかねてるけど、エンピーのニヤニヤ顔は毎回最高に笑える。
Still not sure how I feel about this series as a whole, but Empee's s**t-eating grin is always hilarious.

そうなると思ってたわけじゃないけど、主人公が覚えられるスキルがありきたりなものじゃなくて、魔力がテーマのものだったら、めちゃくちゃ面白かったのに。魔力を消費してダメージを防ぐ魔力の障壁とか、魔力のライトセーバーとか、敵から魔力を吸い取るとか、敵の魔力を爆発させて倒すとか。
I wouldn't say I expected it to happen, but it would have been sooo much more interesting for MC's learnable skills to be mana-themed, rather than generic. Mana barrier that costs mana while preventing him from taking damage, mana light saber, leeching mana from enemies, exploding enemy mana to kill them etc.

総評
今回いちばん面白かったのは、視聴者がそれぞれ自分の知っている「仕組み」に、この作品を当てはめて読み解こうとしていたことです。ゲーム好きは放置ゲームやMMOの職業にたとえ、魔力を注ぎ込んで上限を上げ、上がった上限でまた魔力を稼ぐ循環を、数字を並べて追いかける。お金に詳しい人は、銀行が預金の一部しか投資に回さない理由まで持ち出して、貯金箱の魔力は自分には使えないのではないかと推理する。「そのクラスが何人か集まって銀行を作るんだよ。」という冗談まで出てきて、魔力がほとんどお金そのものとして扱われているのが印象的でした。借金や利息が身近な国の視聴者だからこそ、この設定は笑いのネタにも、本気の考察の種にもなるのでしょう。
名前の言葉遊びに気づく人が続いたのも今回の特徴です。主人公の名前は「貸した」、妖精の名前は「MP」。英語で見ている人にとっては、名前そのものが作品の仕組みの説明になっていて、「かなりそのまんまだな。」と苦笑いされるのも無理はありません。それに気づいた瞬間の小さな驚きを、スレッドのあちこちで共有しているのが微笑ましいところでした。
エンピーは今回も主役級の扱いです。取り立てを楽しむようなにやけ顔、ギザギザの歯、窓に張りついて景色に見入る姿。「エンピーのニヤニヤ顔は毎回最高に笑える。」という声に象徴されるように、作品全体の評価を決めかねている人でも、エンピーだけは別だと言い切っています。外を眺めていた理由を、借金の予備軍を探しているのだと読む4chan流のひねくれた冗談も、彼女の性格が視聴者にしっかり伝わっている証拠でしょう。
反対に、厳しい目が向けられたのはやはりレントです。「レントには、とっととあのダメな性格を直してほしい。」と、気弱さへの苛立ちは根強いようです。ただ、初めて自分の力で魔物を倒し、胸の高鳴りを感じる場面は、変わり始めの一歩として受け取った人も多かったようです。何でも買えるスキルが強すぎるという指摘も、裏を返せば、ここから先の伸びしろへの期待の表れかもしれません。
そして最後に現れた青い髪の少女。自分のパーティーで冷たく扱われる姿に、追放ものがもう一周始まると身構える人もいれば、ワンクール分の筋書きまで予想してみせる人もいました。3人がポーション頼みでしのぐあいだに、レントは新しい仲間と力を蓄えていく。取り立ての本番がいつ来るのか、次回も楽しみに待ちたいと思います。
