Pretty much the only seasonal that did better from summer is The Ghost in the Shell, which there was no way in hell this was reasonably ever going to beat viewership-wise; CSC did about as well as Jaadugar or Goodbye, Lara, which is to say pretty damn good.

スタジオ・バイブリーには素直に脱帽だ。こういう変わったぶっ飛んだ作品を作ることで名前を売ってきた。ウィッチウォッチや100カノみたいに比較的食べやすいものもあれば、この作品やマジカルデストロイヤーズみたいなのもある。出来上がりの質がどうであれ、いちばん変で飲み込みづらいアニメを臆せず作って、好きなときに「文句あるか、ここは俺たちのやり方でやる」と言ってのけるスタジオがあること自体を、俺は高く評価する

You really gotta hand it to Studio Bibury, they've made a name for themselves making weird out-there shows like this. Some are more palatable like Witch Watch or 100 Girlfriends and then you have shows like this and Magical Destroyers. Whether the end result is quality or not I greatly appreciate that there's a studio that isn't afraid to just making the weirdest hardest to digest anime and saying "f**k you, we run this s**t" whenever the hell they want

OP曲はもともと最初から最高だったけど、キャスト陣が歌うOPはさらに良い！まだ見てない人はMVを見てくれ。ついでに言うと、大家さんの声優が演じるキャラ本人にそっくりなのは、いまだに信じられない（笑）
最終回と作品そのものについて言うと…汚くて、笑えて、変で、興味深くて、ときどき身につまされて、気が滅入って、そして個性的なキャラだらけだった。万人向けではまったくないし、アニメを見始めたばかりの人に勧める作品でもない…
でも自分はすごく楽しめたので8/10。ヤニ子たちがいなくなるのは本当に寂しいし、いつかまた続きが見られることを願ってる。

As for [the final episode](https://imgchest.com/p/na7k69mjky8) and the show itself... it was [disgusting](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/c1b52ed72458.png), [hilarious](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/904ee72de5bf.png), [weird](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d8e296077871.png), [interesting](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/9af70d3f5f67.png), [sometimes relatable](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/2e8be524c4bd.png), [depressing](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/540dfdf49af7.png), and [full of a colorful cast](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/be15c7afd42a.png). Definitely not for everyone, and it's not something I'd recommend to newcomers just getting into anime...

But personally, I had a lot of fun watching it, so it's an 8/10 from me. I'll miss [Yaniko](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lvngj6yx) and the others very much, and I hope that maybe someday we'll get another season.

God damn, that's one hell of a voice Yakuko has. This version is awesome.

ウマ娘のタニノギムレット役での歌声も屈指の出来だし、今回も期待をまったく裏切らなかった

Her singing voice as Tanino Gimlet in Umamusume is one of the best ones and she sure as hell didn't disappoint here either.

今まで見た中でいちばん汚くて退廃的なアニメなのに、なぜか大好きになった。ギャグ漫画にしては妙に物悲しくて人間くさいところがあって、社会風刺も驚くほど踏み込んでる。たとえば獣人が実は宇宙から来た存在で人間社会に組み込まれた、という無茶な世界設定が、社会から望まれない二級市民の寓話として使われてるところとか。あとバイブリー・アニメーション・スタジオにも拍手を送りたい。あそこはいつも作品に情熱を注いでいて、ヤニねこも100カノも素晴らしい映像化だった

One of the filthiest degenerate anime I've watched, and somehow I loved it. For a gag comedy it's pretty depressing and human at times and goes surprisingly deep with its social commentary. For example the insane worldbuilding about the beastfolk being aliens who were integrated into human civilization and used as an allegory for the undesirable second-class citizens of society. Also, shoutout to Bibury studios who always put a lot of passion into their projects, both Yani Neko and 100 GFs were great adaptations.

君の言うとおりのゲスなギャグ漫画に、これだけの作画とキャラの作り込みで資源と手間をつぎ込んだのは本当にすごい。総集編も無ければ、ガイナックス的な「ここで予算が尽きました」みたいな低クオリティの場面も無かった。最後までクオリティが本当に安定してた。最終話はハメ子・大家さん・ヤニ子の大乱闘にかなり力を入れてたけど、そのせいで他の部分が犠牲になることも無かった。

The investment in terms of resources and craft to take what is, as you said a degenerate gag manga, with such detail in the animation and characters is really amazing. There was no filler episode or Gainax style "we ran out of money here" low quality animation scenes - the quality was really quite consistent across the entire show. They definitely put some great effort into this last episode with the Hame-Landlord-Yani brawl but it didn't lead to the rest of the episode's quality suffering.

イモコの作家友達にあれだけスポットが当たって、もはや彼女が主役なんじゃないかってくらいだったのが良かった。特に、殻を破っていろんな変な友達を作ってきた思い出の回想モンタージュをやるのが彼女だったのがね。それこそが自分の書くものに足りなかった実体験だった、っていう。サブキャラまで含めて全員が好きになれるのが本当にすごいわ（笑）。終わるのが寂しいから、いつかシーズン2をやってほしい

I liked how imokos writer friend got so much attention to the point it almost felt like she became the main character of the show especially when she's the one having a flashback montage of all the memories she's made after coming out of her shell more and making all these weird friends and how that's what was missing from her writing real world experiences. It's kinda crazy just how likeable every single character is even the side ones lol I'm going to miss the show so hopefully we get a season 2 someday

まさにそれを考えてた（笑）。だってネタが欲しいなら、とんでもなく面白い人間だらけのあの建物に入り浸ってるわけだし…

That's exactly what I'm thinking lol. I mean if she wants inspiration she frequently visits this building filled with extremely interesting people...

正直あの場面、彼女が『ヤニねこ』って書き始めて、このアニメ自体が彼女の語った話でした、みたいな展開になると本気で思ってた。

NGL in that scene I was fully expecting her to write "Yani Neko" and the anime is the story being told from her or something.

この回はヤニねこって作品をよく表してたと思う。しんどい現実もあって、汚さもあって、何よりネタが効いてた。
あとキャラ全員にちゃんと見せ場をくれたのが好き。今回は全員がちゃんとその場にいた感じがある（ママねこだけはいなかったけど）

I think this episode encapsulates Yani neko very well, it had the sad reality hits, the grosenes and best of all the jokes.
I also love that they gave every charachter a little bit of the spotlight, every character fell included and present this episode (Well except for mama neko)

今年いちばんの伏兵がこれだった。どこからともなく現れて、最初から最後まで最高だった。関わった全員がこの作品を愛して全力でやってたのが伝わってくる。もう1期やってほしいけど、この終わり方はほろ苦くて、ここで終わりでも自分は構わない。
みんな原作を買おうぜ。面白いし、続編の後押しにもなるかもしれない

And there goes my surprise favorite anime of the year. This one came out of no where and was amazing start to finish. You can tell everyone involved loved this series and gave it their all. I hope there's another season, but the ending of this felt bittersweet and I wouldn't mind if this was the note the anime leaves on.
Go buy the manga people. It's great and might help the push for another season.

この作品、ねこたちの人生は悲しいのに、本人たちが飛ばすネタは死ぬほど笑える。見た目はふざけたネタアニメなのに、この二つの感情がどうしてこんなに噛み合うのか分からない。絶対にもっと続編が観たい。
あと、なぜか合わさったほうの歌が通常版より明るい。

This show is both sad (those catgirls' life) and hilarious (those jokes they make) at the same time and I don't know how the two emotions can blend in so well despite looks like a shitposting anime. Will definitely want more seasons.
And somehow the combined song is more upbeat than the normal one.
