That whole relationship with Igarashi was a disaster from the get-go. It was way too one-sided and he definitely came on too strong and never tried to understand Koyun imo. All that pressure from everyone else in class didn’t help either. No wonder Koyun’s got like PTSD from thinking about relationships, man. I guess it was a good thing they had that big blowout in the playground. Very cathartic for them lol.

We get one person in this show who's an expert on love... and it's Tsukiko? The hamster?!

月子、本当にお手柄だよ。湊から見て、そして外の誰から見ても、小雪がどう映っていたかを教えてくれた。陽太や美姫がこれまで示せなかった見方をくれたのがうれしい。月子の言葉は、小雪にちゃんと届いたからね。自分で足を引っぱってたと小雪が分かって、過去にも区切りがついたから、やっと進展が見られそう。

Damn Tsukiko really saved the day by telling Koyun how she’s actually been coming across to Minato and to any outsider’s viewpoint. I’m glad she was able to provide a perspective that Yota and Miki haven’t been able to so far because her words really got through to Koyun. I think we’re finally gonna see some progress now that Koyun understands how she’s been self-sabotaging and has had closure on her past self.

人の恋人を奪うのは、みんな嫌いなはずなのに、相手が桃香だからって、小雪にだけ略奪の許可を出してるの、なかなかすごいよね、笑。

It's kinda wild how we all hate homewreckers, but here we are giving Koyun a homewrecker pass because it's Momoka lol.

そうそう。月子は第三者として、特に小雪と湊の細かいやりとりを近くで見てきたんだよね。陽太と美姫は、二人で自分たちのことがあったし。
だから月子は、湊と小雪の毎日のやりとりに注目して、小雪の反応を分かろうとして、外からどう見えるかを客観的に伝える役を、ちゃんと果たしたんだと思う。小雪の気持ちを知らなかったからこそね。
でも面白いことに、全キャラの中でいちばん見抜いてたのは優希なんだよな。ある一つの出来事だけで、小雪と湊は両想いだって察してた。

I’m glad she was able to provide a perspective that Yota and Miki haven’t been able to so far because her words really got through to Koyun.
Yeah, Tsukiko has been a 3rd party that has been more involved in seeing the smaller interactions of Koyuki and Minato specifically, while Yota and Miki have been having their own things going with their own dynamic.
So Tsukiko served her role well as the one more specifically focused on Minato and Koyuki's day to day interactions and didn't know what she felt - so more focused on trying to understand Koyuki's responses to give a more objective perspective on how she came across.
Though funny out of all the characters, Yuki clocked it best to think the feelings were mutual between Koyuki and Minato from one specific event.

桃香、今回ほとんど出てないのに、小雪と五十嵐が中心の回で、多くの人の話題の中心になってる（笑）

She was barely in this episode yet still the main focus for many people on an episode focused on Koyuki and Igarashi. lol

小雪と五十嵐が、やっと和解して、中学時代から先に進めるようになった。前から分かってたとおり、二人は本当に合わなくて、違いが積み重なって、あの泥沼の別れになったんだね。ただ、五十嵐の『別れたらお前どうなるの』って台詞には触れておきたい。十代の男子だから深く考えてなかったのは分かるけど、うわあ。傲慢と見下しが混ざってて、要は『自分がいないとお前は何者でもない、幸せにできるのは自分だけ』って言ってるようなもの。繰り返すけど、深く考えて言ったわけじゃない。それでも、両親の離婚のつらさの中にいた小雪には、特に深く刺さったのは分かる。
それに、小雪の頭の中もまた少し見えたけど、うわあ、自己肯定感がまだどん底だ。自分は誰も幸せにできないと本気で思ってる。たぶん両親の別居から来てるんだろう。ああいう状況の子どもは、自分が親の別れた『原因』だとか、親が一緒にいる理由として『足りなかった』とか思い込みがちなんだよね。小雪と湊にくっついてほしいのは山々だけど、小雪はまだ恋愛を受け止められる心の状態じゃないと言っていい。
でも、五十嵐とちゃんと話ができて、わだかまりをその場で片づけられたのはよかった。小雪の言うとおり、呪いはやっと解けた。とはいえ、二人の怒鳴り合いにポカンとした子どもたちが集まってたのは最高に笑えた（笑）
エンドロール後の場面も忘れずに！ 小雪が湊と同じ写真に写ってるだけで（隣ですらないのに、笑）、桃香はカチンときてる。相手は元カノがたぶん二桁いる男なのに、今になって警戒し始めるのが面白い。そういう相手を選んだのは自分だよ、桃香。

Koyuki and Igarashi have finally buried the hatchet and are able to move on from junior high. Just as we've always known, those two really didn't fit together and their number of differences snowballed into the mess that was their breakup. Though I have to draw attention to Igarashi's "what would happen to you if we broke up" line. I know that, being a teen boy, he didn't think much of it, but damn DX. It's a mix of arrogance and condescension, basically saying the other person is nothing without you and you're the only one who can make them happy. Again, he didn't think deeply about it but I can see why someone like Koyuki, who was already going through the pain of divorcing parents, would be cut especially deep by that line.
We also get another look into Koyuki's mind and damn, her self-esteem is still in the gutter DX. She actually believes she can't make anyone happy, probably stemming from her parents' separation. It's common for the child in that situation to believe that they're the "reason" their parents split, or weren't a "good enough" reason for them to stay together. Safe to say, as much as we want her and Minato together, Koyuki just isn't in the headspace to handle dating yet.
But I'm glad she and Igarashi managed to have a real conversation and put any ill feelings to rest then and there. As Koyuki said, the curse has finally been broken. Though their shouting match drawing a crowd of baffled children was super funny, lol.
Post-credits scene, don't forget! Koyuki just being in the same picture as Minato (not even next to him, lol) is enough to rub Momoka the wrong way. Interesting how the guy has exes likely in the double digits and she's only now being wary. You get what you pay for, Momoka

自分を低く見ていて、恋愛の経験といえば、最悪の初カレと、両親の結婚の破綻と、いい彼氏を見つけられない美姫だけ。それじゃ恋に踏み出すのは難しいよ。
五十嵐は、自分が少女漫画の主人公のつもりだったけど、実は問題のある元カレの役だったと気づかなきゃいけない。
公平に言えば、湊はほかの元カノたちとはつるんでないみたいだし、桃香も心の底では、湊と小雪がたぶんまだ互いに気持ちがあると分かってる。でも、いずれ桃香がやらかすだろう過剰反応は、桃香のためにならない。

Hard to embrace love when you have such a low opinion of yourself and your only experience with relationships is the worst first boyfriend, your parents' marriage dissolving, and Miki being unable to find a good boyfriend.
Igarashi thought he was the male lead of his Shoujo romance but he has to realize he was the problematic ex.
In fairness it doesn't seem like Minato hangs around his other exes and Momoka deep down knows that he and Koyun probably still have feelings for each other. But her inevitable overreaction isn't going to help her.

正直、月子からあんなに厳しい言葉が出るとは思わなかった。無邪気そうに見えて、小さな策士の素質がある。
とはいえ、小雪には必要な言葉だった。桃香が湊とここまで来られたのは、小雪が自分で足を引っぱってたからだ。小雪がもっと素直に気持ちを出していたら、桃香の駆け引きもうまくいかなかったかもしれない。

I honestly didn’t expect such harsh words from Tsukiko. She looks innocent but there is the potential of a little schemer residing in her.
That said, Koyuki needed to hear those words. Momoka only ever got this far with Minato because Koyuki has been sabotaging herself. If she’d been more upfront about her feelings, Momoka’s manipulation might not have worked either.

正直、小雪と五十嵐がただ話して、必要だった区切りをつけられたのを見られて本当にうれしい。呪いは解けた？ 分からないけど、小雪がこの先も自分らしくいて、幸せになれるといいな。
五十嵐は、まあ、小雪に合うタイプじゃないってだけで、悪い奴でもない。ちょっと抜けてて無神経な、普通のティーンエイジャーだ。小雪の状況や気持ちをよく分かってなかったけど、小雪も五十嵐のことを決めつけてた。結局、お互いのことを何も知らなかったんだ。
それと、月子が小雪に、どこでしくじったかを一から説明してたのが最高。もちろん桃香も一枚かんでるけど、湊が自分には脈がないと思ったのは、やっぱり小雪の態度のせいだからね。

Honestly really happy to see Koyuki and Igrashi just talking and getting the closure they needed. Curse broken? idk but I hope Koyuki gets to keep being herself and be happy.
Igrashi dude idk man just isn't the type of guy for Koyuki but he ain't a bad guy either just another teenager that's a bit dumb/insensitive. He didn't really understand Koyuki's sitution or emotions but she also kinda just made assumptions about him as well neither of them really knew anything about each other.
Also love Tsukiko just giving Koyuki the run down on how she f****d up. Sure, Momoko had a hand, but yeah Koyuki how she acted is why Minato thought he had no chance.

五十嵐の問題は、自分と小雪が少女漫画みたいな恋愛をしてると思ってたことだと思う。でも、この作品が実際どんな少女漫画なのかを分かってなかった。気持ちの面でも人付き合いの面でも、二人は合わなかった。これは『人気者のイケメンが、内気なぼっち女子と付き合う』話じゃない。少なくとも五十嵐が思ってた形ではね。湊は、五十嵐が一度もしなかったやり方で、ちゃんと小雪と向き合って理解しようとしてるんだから。

I think Igarashi's problem was he thought he and Koyuki were in a Shoujo manga romance but he misunderstood the kind of Shoujo manga this series actually is. Emotionally and socially they just weren't compatible.
This wasn't a "popular and cool guy dates introverted loner girl" story, at least not in the way he thought it was, because Minato actually properly engages with and tries to understand Koyun in a way Igrashi never did.

この回、本当に大好き。二人ともちゃんと区切りがついた。それも怒鳴り合いで（笑）。両方の側と考えを見られたのはすごいことで、どっちにも共感できる。二人とも思ってたことを吐き出せた。小雪は少し分かりにくすぎたし、五十嵐は少し小雪を軽く扱いすぎてた。付き合ってるうちにこれをやってたら、どうなってたんだろう。
それと五十嵐からは、『ゆびさきと恋々』の桜志と似た雰囲気を感じた。桜志と同じで、五十嵐の性格は好きじゃなかったけど、キャラクターとしては大好きだし、物語にもたらしたものも好き。特に今回の五十嵐はね。二人とも好きな相手に本気の好意を持ってるのに、それをちゃんと示すやり方が分からなくて、ちょっと強引で、相手が本当に望んでることを軽く見すぎてる。
正直、美姫と陽太の出番を期待してたけど、五十嵐と小雪に焦点を当てたのはすごくよかった。二人にとって、いい立ち直りの話だった。

Love this episode so much. They both got closure. And it’s through shouting at each other lol. It’s crazy we saw both sides and their thoughts and I can sympathise with both. They both got to air out what they felt. Koyun was a bit too hard to read while Igarashi was a bit too dismissive of her. Wonder what would’ve happened if they did this while they were still together
Also, Igarashi gave me similar vibes as Oushi from Sign of Affection. And same with Igarashi I didn’t like his personality but loved the character and what he brought to the story, especially after this episode for Igarashi. They both hold genuine affection for the person they like but just don’t know how to properly show it and kinda rash about it and also too dismissive of what she actually wants.
Ngl I have been hoping to get Miki and Yota screentime but the focus on Igarashi and Koyun was great. Good redemption arc for both of them really

小雪と五十嵐の怒鳴り合いは笑えた。湊が相手のときも、これくらいはっきり言いたいことを伝えられたらいいのに。

Evil and intimidating Momoka getting triggered over nothing, Koyun is living rent free in her head.
Shouting match between Koyun and Igarashi was funny, if only she could be this assertive and communicative when it comes to Minato.

勝ったと思っても、負けヒロインは負けヒロインのまま。いいかい子どもたち、これが別れってものだよ！ 結局、どんな恋でも一番大事なのは、気持ちを伝え合うことなんだ。

At the end of the day the key to any romance is communication.

小さい子たちがただ突っ立って、黙って二人を見てるのは、正直かなり笑えた。小雪と五十嵐が、子どもたちのいいお手本になろうと仲直りしたふりでもしてたら、たぶん吹き出してたと思う。

Having a bunch of little kids just stand there and watch them in silence was indeed pretty funny to me.
Would’ve probably bursted out in laughter if Koyuki and Igarashi had pretended to make up with each other; just to be a good role-model for these kids.

小雪にとって、まとまっていて、何より納得のいく成長の物語だった。過去を引きずって壁を作っていた小雪が、第1期でばったり会ったときには勇気を出して言い返し、ついには対等な立場で話し、ぶつかり合えるまでになった。五十嵐には欠点もあるけど、小雪は自分の過ちも認めてる（気持ちを伝えられなかったこと、本当の気持ちが無いまま、いじめてきた相手への仕返しに五十嵐を利用したこと）。最初からうまくいくはずのなかったこの恋に、悪役はいない。不器用な人たちがいただけで、二人ともそれを分かってる。
そして、エンドロール後の場面で第1期のエンディングが流れて、もうすぐドロドロが戻ってくるって知らせてくる。（先週は第1期のオープニングで、かわいい対になってた）

It’s a nice, full and best of all believable character arc for Koyun. She has gone from building walls because she dwells on her past, to mustering her courage to speak up during their S1 run-in, to finally talking and even confronting him as peers. For all his faults, she recognises her own mistakes (not being able to communicate, not having genuine feelings and using him to get back at her bully). There are no villains in this doomed to fail relationship, just clumsy people, and they both recognise that it too.
And then Season 1’s ending plays in the ending scene post-credit to let you know drama will be back on the menu shortly. (Last week was S1 OP, which was a cute mirror)

先週の終わりに五十嵐が出てきたから、今週もそれなりに出番があるとは思ってたけど、小雪との関係がど真ん中に来るとは思わなかった。
うん、付き合ってたころの二人の関係は、五十嵐のほうに大きく偏ってた。不健全な関係だったし、五十嵐に悪気が無くて、小雪もそれを分かってたとしても、小雪が終わらせたのは正しかった。それが偶然の再会で、カウンセリングでも受けてるみたいに本音をぶつけ合って、初めて対等な立場になった。もう付き合ってはいなくても、二人の問題が片づいてよかった。吹き出したボトルが、二人のわだかまりのお祓いを表してたのが最高。
一方で桃香は、スマホで小雪を見たとき、かなり不穏な顔をしてた。湊と付き合ってるだけじゃ足りなくて、湊が小雪に『なびく』可能性を全部つぶすために、小雪を蹴落とさなきゃ気が済まないんだな。とんだ悪魔だ！

Igarashi popping at the end of last week’s episode hinted that he’ll have a not insignificant part in this week’s but I didn’t expect for his relationship with Koyuki to take centre stage.
Yeah, the dynamics between them were heavily biased towards him when they were dating. It’s an unhealthy relationship and she was right to cut it off despite him having no malice as well as her being aware of it. Now after a chance meeting they poured their heart out like they’re on a counselling session and for the first time, they’re on equal standing. Glad that their issue had been resolved even if they’re no longer together. Love how the popping bottle symbolised the exorcism of their issues.
Meanwhile, Momoka had quite the ominous look when she saw Koyuki on her phone. It’s not enough that she’s with Minato, but she also had to bring Koyuki down to eliminate of any chances of him 'veering' towards her. Quite the devil!

同意なしでキスして（昔ながらの少女漫画でしか許されないやつ）、そのうえ『自分が必要なんだ』と小雪に思い込ませた……うわあ。まあ、何も分かってない十代だったとはいえ、それでもね。
自分の恋人が、その人の『運命の人』（月子の言葉）のそばにいて、しかも本当は両想いだったと知ってたら、自分もたぶん気が気じゃないと思う。

The way he kissed her without her consent (something you can only get away with in traditional Shoujo manga) and then basically put it into her head that she needed him...yikes. I mean, they're teenagers who didn't know any better, but still.
I would probably be self-conscious about my significant other being around his "one true love" (Tsukiko's words) when I know the feelings for them were actually mutual.

第1期のときから、五十嵐には同じ印象があった。小雪への接し方を見ると、完全にラブコメの主人公のつもりなんだよ。小雪が嫌がってるサインを全部、照れてるだけだと受け取って、少しずつ心をつかんでると思ってる。

I had the same feeling about Igarashi last season. He really sees himself as a romcom lead the way he always acted with Koyuki. He sees all the signs of her discomfort as just being embarrassed or shy and he is slowly winning her over.

そこは嫌いだけど、どのキャラも完璧な恋人じゃなくて、ちゃんと15歳の子として描かれてるのが大好き。

I do hate him for that but I just love how every character is portrayed as 15 yr old teen and not some perfect romantic partner

「あなたは私じゃなくて、恋に恋してただけ」
ああ小雪、それがただの自己投影だって気づいてたらね。
気持ちを伝えようとしないことを五十嵐に指摘されたのも刺さった。小雪はまた、自分の気持ちを自分の中だけで片づけようとしてる。今回も五十嵐が自分から動かなかったら、五十嵐には言いたいことを吐き出す機会すらなかったんだから。
小雪って、本当に型破りな主人公だよね。これほど恋愛のいざこざを過去に抱えたヒロインは珍しいし、だからこそ一段と魅力的なんだ（湊にも同じことが言える）。

"You are actually not in love with me. You just like the idea of me."
Oh Koyuki, if only you knew that's just plain self-projection.
Igarashi calling her out for refusing to communicate also striked home that she tries to finish off her feelings within herself AGAIN, for he never really had a chance at all to spit it out had he not taken the initiative again this time as well.
Koyuki is a very unorthodox protagonist really, a girl lead with this much relationship crosses in her history is rare, and that's what makes her even for fascinating (same can be said for Minato)

五十嵐は、ある意味では本気で小雪が好きだったんだと思う（少なくとも本人はそう信じてた）。ただ、それが小雪自身の気持ちとは噛み合ってなかった。

I think he genuinely liked Koyun...in a way (or believed he did). But not in a way that actually vibed with her own feelings.

でも、あの指摘は当たってるとも思うよ。五十嵐は好きだったと言うけど、本当の小雪を知ろうとはしなかった。好きだと言いながら、小雪の趣味や好きなものをけなしてたんだから、つじつまが合わない。両親の離婚にも本気で驚いてた。時系列が合っていれば、まだ二人とも中学生のころの話で、当時の小雪にとって一番大事なことだったはずなのに。それを知らないで好きだったなんて、はっきり間違いだよ。五十嵐が好きだったのは、頭の中で思い描いた小雪で、本当の小雪じゃなかった。

I think it's also a true accusation though? Igarashi said he loved her, but didn't really ever know her. He put down her hobbies and the things she was interested in while claiming to still love her; that doesn't match up. He also seemed genuinely surprised at the divorce, when that should be the number 1 important thing to her at that point in time, which if I understand the timeline correctly, should have happened while they were still both in middle school. Saying he loved her while not knowing about the most important thing in her life at the moment is straight up incorrect; he loved the Koyun he had imagined, which was not the Koyun in reality.

五十嵐は小雪にベタぼれだと言ってたけど、彼の目線の回想でも、小雪のどこが好きなのかははっきり言わないんだよね。『ちょっと親切』だっただけ。だから、小雪の趣味や好きなものに興味が無いのに『誰よりも好きだった』と言われても、『君だから好き』じゃなくて『君なのに好き』みたいに聞こえる。悪気は無いけど、的外れで、それはそれで人を傷つける。
気になるのは、友達がはやし立てるまで、五十嵐がそもそも恋愛に興味があったのかも怪しいってこと（ただ小雪に構ってほしかっただけで、それなら何とでも取れる）。友達に言われて、その気になっていったんだよ。友達が何も言わなかったら、二人は少なくとも、そこそこの友達にはなれてたかもしれない。当時の小雪の状況を考えると特別仲良くはならなかっただろうし、五十嵐は小雪が自然と惹かれるタイプでもない。それでも中学時代は、何事もなく過ぎていったはずだ。

He claimed to be head over heels for her, but even when we saw the flashback from his perspective, he never really says what exactly he likes about Koyuki, only that she was "kinda nice". So his declaring he loved her more than anyone else even though he didn't care for her hobbies or interests sort of comes across as "I love you even though you're you" rather than "I love you because you're you". Well-intentioned, but very off the mark and hurtful in its own way.
What gets me is that Igarashi didn't even seem interested in romance necessarily (he just wanted her attention, which could mean anything) until his friends brought it up and he started believing their hype. If they hadn't, the two might have worked their way into a decent friendship if nothing else. They wouldn't have been particularly close, given everything going on in Koyuki's life back then and Igarashi isn't the person she'd naturally gravitate towards, but their junior high years surely would have gone by without further incident

そう。最初のころの湊のときと同じで、小雪は相手の言葉を勝手に決めつけてる。それどころか、自分は相手の心を読めてると思い込んでたのに、相手は自分の心を読んでくれないって怒ってる。気持ちを隠してたのは小雪のほうなのに。五十嵐も完璧じゃなかったけど、これは主に小雪の問題だと思う。

Yeah, just like with Minato at the start, she's putting words in his mouth (thoughts in his head?). Even further, she's mad at him for not reading her mind the way (she incorrectly thought) she was reading his, even though she was the one hiding her feelings. Yes he wasn't perfect, but this is mainly on her imo

まだみんな気づいてないけど、深く見ると、小雪と湊はかなり似てる。特に、五十嵐と小雪の関係が、ある意味で湊と桃香の関係と重なってるところ。

People don't realize it yet, but koyuki and minato are way more similiar if we analyze them on a deeper level, especially how igarashi/koyuki parallel minato/momoka in a way

そうそう。二人とも周りの圧に弱くて、楽な道を選びがちなんだよね。誰かをがっかりさせたくなくて、本当はやりたくない役を演じてしまう。自分の気持ちを通す度胸は、どっちにもなかった。

Yeah, I was thinking how sensitive they both are to peer pressure, or to choose the easy way out. They'll both play the role they don't really want to play because the alternative is disappointing someone else, and neither had the guts to stand up for themselves instead.

すごく心温まる、ほろ苦い回だった。五十嵐と小雪がやっとわだかまりを解けてよかった。進行中の三角関係のドロドロから、いい箸休めになった。
とはいえ、次の回でまた毎週恒例のSNSの大荒れが見られるのが待ちきれない（笑）

Such a heartwarming & bittersweet episode. It's nice that igarashi and koyuki can finally clear things up between them, a nice change of pace from the love triangle drama brewing up.
That's said, can't wait to see the social media weekly crashout again for the next episode lmao.

小雪が自分の意見をはっきり言って、やっと五十嵐に言い返して、本当の気持ちを伝えたのは、すごくスカッとした。心の奥では、これから湊にもっと正直になるために、自分のためにやらなきゃいけないことだったんだと思う。
エンドロール後の場面を見るかぎり、桃香と湊の仲がこじれるまで、小雪はそう長く待たなくてよさそう。桃香は、写真に自分以外の全員が写ってるのを見て、湊がある意味では同情から付き合ってるだけだと、否定しようのない形で突きつけられたんだから。そのつもりだと分かったうえで付き合い始めたのかもしれないけど、写真を見て空しくならないわけがない。

Seeing Kohyun stand up for herself and finally argue back at Igarashi and tell him how she truly felt was very satisfying and something deep down she needed to do for herself to be more honest with Amamiya in the future.
Based on the post-credit scene she won’t have to wait long for things between Momoka and Amamiya to blow up. Her seeing that everyone was in the pictures except her showed her how Amamiya was only going out with her out of pity in a way she couldn’t deny. She may have been gone into understanding he was going out with her with that intention but that won’t make her not feel empty when looking at the photos.

桃香って、実は誘われてたよね？ でも忙しいって断った。来る機会はいくらでもあったのに嫉妬してみせたら、それが湊の我慢の限界を超えさせるかも。

She was actually invited wasn't she? But she said she was busy. I think her acting jealous when she had every opportunity to be there might be what pushes Minato over the edge

うん、誘われてた。それに最後の写真、湊が小雪のほうを見てたようにも見えなかった？

Ya she was invited, it also looked like Amamiya was maybe looking at Koyuki in the last picture?

小雪があきらめて告白を受けたこと、五十嵐が二人の関係を形にしていったこと、小雪が本気になろうと自分に言い聞かせたこと、五十嵐が関係を固めようとしたこと。どれも、湊と桃香の関係にすごくよく似てる。
二人は自分たちで区切りをつけられて運がよかった。どんなにひどい結末でも、そこから学んで成長できることは必ずある。美姫と湊も、いずれそこに行き着かなきゃいけない。

The way that Koyuki gave up and accepted the offer, the way Igarashi framed up the relationship, the way she tried to convince herself to commit, the belief he firmly tries to tighten the relationship, also greatly, greatly mirror the relationship to Minato and Momoka.
They were lucky to get that closure to themselves, and there is always something to learn and grow from, no matter how disastrous it was. That is something Miki and Minato will eventually need to come around to.

今季ここまでで、いちばん好きな回。小雪と五十嵐が、昔お互いのことや二人の関係をどう見てたのかが分かって、すごく面白かった。特に、二人の気持ちをある程度知ったうえで見るとね。だから、照れてる小雪がかわいかったと五十嵐が話してるとき、こっちは『照れてるんじゃないよ』としか思えなかったし、五十嵐が愛情を示してるつもりのところも、実際はかなり上から目線に聞こえた。
二人とも不満を吐き出せてよかった。きっと二人にとっていい治療になったはず。でも、それを公園でやってるのが面白くて、いつ見物人が映るかと待ってたよ（笑）。これで二人の距離が縮まった感じがするのもいい。今の二人の関係はすごく面白いし、五十嵐がもっと小雪の周りに出てきてもいいな。
ただ、祭りの写真を見て桃香がキレてるみたいだから、次回はさらにドロドロしそう。
言い忘れるところだったけど、月子が小雪に全部はっきり言ってくれたことに感謝したい。小雪は知らなきゃいけなかったんだよ！『平静を装う』ことで自分のチャンスを潰してたと、小雪がやっと気づいてよかった。ただ、桃香が小雪に脅かされてると感じて、湊に強く出すぎたら、今度は桃香のほうが自滅するかもしれないね。

My favorite episode of this season currently, it was really interesting to see how both Koyuki and Igarashi viewed each other and their relationship in the past, especially while knowing some of their feelings already. So when Igarashi was talking about how cute Koyuki being shy was, all I was thinking she isn't being shy, and when he thought he was being affectionate, actually sounded very condescending.

I am glad they both got to air out their grievances, it must have been therapeutic for the both of them, but it's funny how they were doing this in a public park, I just waiting for an audience to be shown lol. I do enjoy how it feels like this has brought them closer together, their current dynamic seems very interesting and I wouldn't mind seeing Igarashi appear more around Koyuki.

However, it looks like we'll be getting more drama next episode with Momoka looking pissed at the photos from the festival.

I almost forgot to mention this, but I am thankful for Tsukiko laying it all out to Koyuki. SHE NEEDED TO KNOW! I'm glad Koyuki now realizes she had been ruining her own chances by "playing it cool", but there might be a chance that Momoka might self-sabotage by being too much with Minato, if she gets too aggressive from feeling threatened by Koyuki.

Koyun and Igarashi are polar opposites

ねえ、小雪と五十嵐って、これをきっかけに本当にいい友達になれるかもね。わだかまりが消えた今は、けっこう気が合ってるし。ほぼ丸一話を『元恋人との話し合い』に使ったのは名案だった。すごく気に入ったよ！特に、小雪と五十嵐それぞれの視点を見せたのがいい。恋愛は二人でするものだって、よく分かる。結局、二人とも自分の世界に入り込みすぎてたんだ。

You know, Koyuki and Igarashi might actually become good friends after this. They do get along pretty well now that all their resentment has been lifted.
Having (almost) an entire episode be centred around the concept of “a talk with your ex” was a great idea.
I really liked it! Especially with how they showcased the different perspectives of Koyuki and Igarashi. This perfectly illustrated why it takes two people to make a relationship work. Both of them were ultimately too caught up in their own world.

これを機に、仲良くやっていけると思う。

今回はすばらしかった。OP前とED後の場面を切り離せば、シリーズの大きな流れを抜きにしても、それだけで立派な短編映画になる。崇拝だけで成り立つ恋はうまくいかない、恋にはお互いの対話と理解が必要だから――それを完璧に描いてみせた。
同じ場面や出来事を、関係の両側から見せる対比も面白い。五十嵐は、別れるまで大きなけんかは一度もなかったと思っていて、別れは突然だったと感じてる。小雪は、大きなけんかにならなかったのは、五十嵐の勢いにのまれて、自分の考えを顧みてもらえないまま、意見の違いが押しつぶされていたからだと気づく。
それに、二人がやっと、いわば決着がつくまでやり合えたのも本当によかった。それで少し分かり合えたんだから。この作品が、五十嵐を恋人候補として再登場させる流れにしてないのもうれしい。絶対にそうなるべきじゃないから。
追伸：五十嵐の友達は、ちょっとひどい。昔もそうだったし、今もそう。

This episode was excellent. You could basically cut away the pre-OP and post-ED scenes and have a perfectly fine short film that would stand on its own even outside the larger narrative of the series. It is a perfect illustration of why love that is built solely on idolization does not work, because love requires mutual communication and understanding.
It also shows an interesting contrast of the same scenes and events as seen from either end of the relationship. Igarashi thinks they never had a big fight until their break-up and thinks the break-up came out of nowhere. Koyun realizes they never had a big fight until then because she would let herself be overwhelmed by Igarashi's actions which smothered disagreements by not taking her perspective into consideration at all.
I am also really glad that they manage to finally fight it out as it were. That actually built a bit of understanding. I am also really glad that the series isn't taking this as Igarashi re-entering the picture as a potential partner, because he definitely shouldn't.
P.S.: Igarashi's friends are kind of assholes. They were back then. They are still now.

2. 過去と和解し、自分と向き合う勇気を持つ
最初のショックから立ち直ると、月子はこの状況を抜け出す方法を挙げ始める。一つ目は、堂々と湊にアプローチすること。湊が好きでもない相手と押し切られて付き合っているなら、小雪が振り向かせるのは簡単なはずだという理屈だ。二つ目は、ほかの人を見つけること。三つ目は、気を紛らわせること。小雪がはっきり答えないでいると、月子は核心を突く問いを投げかける。こんなにつらい思いをしても、やっぱり湊じゃなきゃだめなの？
そこで小雪は、中学時代の五十嵐との失敗した恋を振り返る。湊ともっと近づけなかったことは後悔しているけれど、自分が誰かと付き合う姿は想像できない、というのが小雪の結論だ。自分は誰かを幸せにできないのに、自分の古い傷にはとらわれ続けている。小雪がずっと受け身だった理由が、ここでもう一度説明される。五十嵐との関係が残した罪悪感と自己嫌悪がまだ尾を引いていて、好きな人へ一歩踏み出すのを妨げているのだ。言い換えれば小雪は、自分を守るために築いた氷の城壁が、自分自身の恋心からも自分を切り離していたことに気づき始めている。
偶然の巡り合わせで、小雪と五十嵐は同じコンビニの前で出くわし、ごく普通の口げんかになる。小雪は中学のころ言えなかった不満を全部吐き出し、五十嵐も負けずに言い返して、二人は嫌みをぶつけ合う。言い合いが終わるころには、小雪の中で何かがほどけていた。
この話は、小雪が五十嵐とではなく、自分の過去と和解する話だ。それができたのは、自分が思っていたより強いと気づいたから。言い返されてもひるまず、思ったことを言えるくらいには強い。本当はずっと前からできていたことで、この解放の瞬間に、それが案外難しくないと分かっただけなんだ。五十嵐は昔のままかもしれないけど、小雪はもう大きく変わっている。過去に自分を閉じ込めておく意味はなく、今に目を向けるべきだとも気づく。そして、自分を変える自信と勇気を手にするんだ。

How Koyuki Changes and Grows While Minato and Momoka Are Dating （1.see the comment in last ep）
2. Making Peace With the Past and Finding the Courage to Face Herself
After getting over her initial shock, Tsukiko starts suggesting ways out of the situation: first, pursue him openly, on the grounds that if Minato has been pressured into dating someone he does not like, it should be easy for Koyuki to win him over; second, find someone else; or third, distract herself. When Koyuki gives no clear response, Tsukiko asks a question that cuts to the heart of the matter: Even if it hurts you this much, does it really have to be Amamiya?
Koyuki then looks back on her failed relationship with Igarashi in middle school. She concludes that although she regrets not getting closer to Minato, she cannot imagine herself in a relationship with anyone. She cannot make someone else happy, yet remains consumed by her own old wounds. This explains once again why she has been so passive: the guilt and self-disgust left by her relationship with Igarashi still linger, preventing her from taking that step toward the person she likes. In other words, Koyuki is beginning to realize that the ramparts of ice she built to protect herself have also cut her off from her own romantic feelings.
By the mighty hand of fate, Koyuki and Igarashi find themselves outside the same convenience store and get into a very ordinary argument. Koyuki lets out all the grievances she never voiced to him in middle school. Igarashi gives as good as he gets, and they trade barbs back and forth. By the time the argument ends, Koyuki feels something inside her ease.
This chapter is about Koyuki making peace with her past, rather than making peace with Igarashi. What allows her to do so is the realization that she is stronger than she thought: strong enough to say what she thinks without being deterred by his retorts. She had actually been capable of this for a long time; this moment of release simply lets her see that it is not so difficult after all. Igarashi may still be the same person he was back then, but Koyuki has already changed a great deal. She also realizes that there is no point keeping herself trapped in the past, and that she should focus on the present. She gains the confidence and courage to change herself.

This is what I felt as well watching it. I felt she grew a lot in this episode alone.
Also seems she's gearing up for a fight later on!

町にファミレスのチェーンが1つしかなくて、しかも『氷の城壁』第1期の曲しか流さないんだな。（第1期のオープニングは、前回のエンドロール後の場面で流れてた。）

二人で歩いてる所を誰かに見られる展開を、ずっと待ち構えてた。湊とか、カメラを持った桃香とか。これ以上ドロドロが増えなくてよかった。

I kept waiting for a third party to see Igarashi and Koyun walking, like Minato or camera-wielding Momoka. Glad we didn't add another layer of drama

五十嵐目線の過去を見てたら、この作品でいちばん嫌われるキャラの座を、桃香と争おうとしてるのかと思った。

Watching the past from Igarashi's perspective made me think he's trying to fight Momoka for the most hated character in this anime.

五十嵐のことは、そんなに嫌いじゃない。桃香は本当に人を操るし、相当なクズだけど、五十嵐はただちょっと浅はかで、空気が読めなかっただけ。

I don't really hate igarashi. Momoka is actually manipulative and a super asshole but igarashi was just kinda stupid and couldn't read the room.

五十嵐は同級生に半ば流されてた面もあるし、そのあと頭の中で、事実と違う思い込みを作り上げてしまった。無知で思いやりがなくて、自分が何をしてるのか分かるほどの自覚もなかった……でも、悪意で動いたことは一度もない。自分勝手で傲慢だけど、それは成長すれば抜け出せるものだよ。

He was also somewhat railroaded by his classmates, and then built up a reality in his head that just wasn't true. He was ignorant and inconsiderate, and very much not self-aware enough to understand what he was doing... but he also wasn't acting maliciously at any point. Self-absorbed and arrogant, but those can be outgrown and matured out of.

五十嵐にも、成長していく道が見えてきた気がする。特に、今の小雪とのやり取りの終わりにはね。昔の欠点がまだ残っていても、高校生の五十嵐は、やり取りの最初から、中学時代よりずっと小雪のことをよく見てた。中学の五十嵐は、もっと自分の頭の中だけで手いっぱいだったし。

Igarashi now seems like he has a path to improving himself, especially by the end of his interaction with Koyuki in the present time.
Even if he still has some of his flaws from before, high school Igarashi already seemed more perceptive of Koyuki at the start of their interaction this episode than middle school Igarashi who was even more caught up in his own head.

第1期ならそうかもね。あのころは桃香がどういう子か、まだよく分かってなかったし。でも第2期の五十嵐には、少し情けをかけたい。同級生に流されるように小雪と付き合うことになって、そのあと周りの圧に負けて、一線を越えて言ってはいけないことを言ってしまった。小雪は五十嵐を好きじゃなかったから、いずれ終わる関係だったけど、派手に壊したのは五十嵐の友達だよ。

In season 1 maybe. We didn't really know what Momoka was about then. In season 2 however, I give Igarashi some grace because he was basically railroaded by his classmates into dating Koyun then buckled to peer pressure to cross a line and say something he shouldn't have. It was always going to end because she never liked him, but his friends made sure it crashed and burned.

小雪と五十嵐が怒鳴り合って、相手の嫌いな所を正直に並べ始めたときは本当にうれしかった。二人が必要だった区切りをつけて、わだかまりを解けたのを見られてよかった。この回をきっかけに、五十嵐の出番が増えるといいな。

I was so glad when Koyuki and Igarashi started yelling and honestly listed all of the things they didn't like about each other. It's nice to see the two of them get the closure they needed and reconcile their differences. Maybe we'll get to see Igarashi more after this episode.

元恋人同士が、なんで上手くいかなかったのかを怒鳴り合う。これほどスッキリするものはない（笑）

Nothing more cathartic than two exes yelling at each other over why their relationship didn't work lol.

そして最後は『まあ、気楽にいこう』に落ち着くっていう。

And then they settle for "let's just vibe"

今回は小雪にとって大きな転機だと思う。月子と五十嵐に大感謝！ 月子は、視聴者が小雪に言ってやりたかったことを、代わりに言ってくれた感じ。でも公平に言うと、湊が小雪のことを友達としか思ってないって聞いてなかったら、小雪は気持ちを伝えてたはずだよ。
五十嵐との言い合いは、皮肉なことに、たぶん二人が初めてした本音の会話だった。小雪の肩の荷がだいぶ下りたのは間違いない。これからの回で、小雪が自分の気持ちをもっと口に出すようになるか楽しみ。
それにしても、最後の桃香の場面（笑）。でも桃香を責められないんだよな。湊を言いくるめて付き合ったわけだし、心の底では二人が本当は好き合ってるって分かってる。湊と小雪のどんなやり取りも、桃香の不安を刺激しちゃうんだ。

This episode feels like a big turning point for Koyun, big thanks to Tsukiko and Igarashi! Felt like Tsukiko said what the audience wanted Koyun to hear. But to be fair, Koyun would have made her feelings known if she didn’t hear Amamiya say he only thought of her as a friend.
That banter with Igarashi was probably the first honest conversation they ever had, ironically. It definitely lifted a lot of weight off Koyun’s shoulders, looking forward as to if she’ll be more vocal of her feelings in the coming episodes.
That Momoka scene at the end though lol. Can’t really blame her cause she manipulated Amamiya to dating her, and she still knows deep down they really like each other. Any interaction Amamiya and Koyun will have would trigger her insecurities.

また月子が、小雪のために決めてくれた。最高の恋の参謀だよ。湊が小雪を好きなのは、誰が見ても分かってた。分かってなかったのは小雪だけ。励ますだけならまだしも、実質『略奪してよし』と言っちゃうのは別の話。吹き替えで見てると、エミリアがメィリィに略奪の許可を出してる構図になるのが、ちょっと面白い、笑。
二人の大げんかはきれいなものじゃなかったし、見物人までいたけど、たぶんかなりスッキリしたんじゃないかな。やっと胸の内を全部吐き出して、二人とも本当に必要だった区切りをつけられた。過去に区切りをつけた小雪は、これで本気を出して、二人とも選択を間違えたこと、今の自分ならもう準備ができてることを示しにいける。
とはいえ、あのエンドロールの場面を見るかぎり、桃香が黙って引き下がるとは思えない。桃香がこれにどう反応するのか気になる。別の女の子が自分の彼氏を振り向かせようとしてきたら、どう対処するんだろう？

Tsukiko once again coming in clutch for Koyun. She's the best wingwoman. Everyone could see Minato liked Koyun. It was only Koyun that couldn't see it. Giving her a pep talk is one thing, but essentially giving Koyun a homewrecker pass is another. It's kinda funny if you watched dubbed because then it's Emilia giving Meili a homewrecker pass lol.
Their blow up wasn't pretty and they had audience, but I imagine it was probably quite cathartic. They finally got every off their chests and got the closure they both really needed it. Now that Koyun has closed the book on the past she can lock in on showing that they both made the wrong choice and that she's ready for him now.
Though based on that credits scene I don't think Momoka's just going to take it lying down. I'm curious what her reaction to all this will be. How she will deal with it when another girl trying to woo her boyfriend?

それと、第1期の湊は、回想の五十嵐とまるで対照的だった。
湊は、踏み込みすぎたり読み違えたりしても、小雪の気持ちを分かろう、受け止めようとしてた。大事に思ってたから。小雪そのものに、本気で興味があったから。五十嵐は、小雪を『自分の彼女』としてしか見られなかった。

Also Minato in season 1 being an entire contrast to Igarashi in the flashback.
He was caught up in trying to understand/compliment her feelings, even when he overstepped/misjudged her, because he cared. Because he was genuinely interested in her. While Igarashi couldn't see beyond her being his "girlfriend."

月子、小雪と湊を救ってあげて！ 湊と桃香を別れさせるっていう月子の案は最高。でも小雪にそんなことはできないだろうな（笑）。特に過去を考えると。自分としては大賛成なんだけど。
五十嵐の目線で見られたのは、思ってたよりずっとよかった。彼の側にも、いろいろあったんだね。いやほんと、キスまでしてた。何回も。ただ、彼の頭の中の小雪は、現実とはまるで別人だったのがつらい。小雪は無理して付き合いを続けてたんだ。真夏に仕返しするためだけに付き合ったんだと思ってたけど、本当に好きになろうと努力したんだね。でも、うまくいかなかった。悲しいけど、そういうこともあるよね。合わなかったから、続かなかった。五十嵐は小雪を自分の好みだと思い込んでたけど、小雪のことをほとんど知らなかったんだよ。それに、当時の小雪は恋愛どころじゃなかった。仮にそうじゃなくても、たぶんきっぱり断ってたと思う。少なくとも、今の小雪ならそうするだろうな。
だから、現在の二人のやり取りが大好き。二人ともすごく成長して、本当にやっと区切りがついたみたいだった。小雪の昔の問題はもう無いし、気持ちを伝えるのも上手くなった。だから、五十嵐に何を言われても、もう気にしない。本当に大事にしてくれる友達がこんなにいるんだから、当然だよ。五十嵐も、小雪がどんな子だったのか、どんな子なのかをやっと分かった。二人に未来なんて無かったって気づいたんだ。公園での言い合いとその後の流れは、見ていてすごくスッキリした。正直、どっちにも非があった。二人とももう乗り越えられてよかった。たぶん初めて、二人とも一緒にいて気楽そうだった。
いやもう。小雪と湊が同じ写真に写ってるのを見たときの桃香の殺気よ（笑）。あの日、湊とデートしなかったのを後悔してるんだろうな。月子と小雪が『湊を奪う』ために何かするとは思えないから、どうやって別れるのか気になる。湊のほうから別れを切り出してほしい。いつも振られる側だったから、初めて誰かを振るところが見たい。振られるのにいちばんふさわしいのは桃香だし。前に湊を突き放したことを小雪が後悔してるのは、見ていていい。でも、月子と桃香に言われても、まだ湊が自分を好きじゃないと思ってるのかな？ そこはちょっともどかしい。どう決着するのか本当に見たい。いい回だった。あっという間に終わった。

TSUKIKO SAVE KOYUN AND MINATO PLEASE! Her idea of making Minato and Momoka break up is killer. But I doubt Koyun could do something like that lol, especially considering her past. I'd be totally down for that though.
We got to see things from Igarashi's perspective. I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. There was a lot more going on from his side of things. Like damn. They even kissed. Many times. It just sucks that the version of Koyuki he had in his mind was completely different from reality. And Koyuki really just forced herself to go through with it. I thought she dated Igarashi just to get back at Atagawa, but she really did try to like him. But it didn't work out. Sad, but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes. They were not compatible, so it didn't last. Igarashi completely misunderstood Koyuki as his type. He barely even knew her. And Koyuki just wasn't in the place for romance at the time. Even if she was, she'd probably just flat out reject him. At least that's probably what current Koyun would do.
So, I loved their interaction in the present day. Both of them grew a lot, and it really seemed like they finally got closure. Koyuki's past problems aren't here anymore, and she got better at communication. So, she doesn't really care about what Igarashi says about her anymore. Why would she when she has more friends who truly care about her now. And Igarashi finally understood what type of girl Koyuki was or is. Realized they didn't really have a future together at all. Their argument in the park and everything after that was very satisfying to watch. Tbh both of them were at fault. Good thing both of them moved past it now. The two actually seemed comfortable together, probably for the first time.
Bruh. Why did Momoka have such a killer look when she saw Koyun and Minato in the same photo lmao. I guess she regrets not going on a date with him that day lol. I doubt Tsukiko and Koyun will do anything to "steal Minato away." So I wonder how they'd break up. I really want Minato to initiate the breakup with her. Since he was always the one who got dumped, it'd be great to see him dump someone for the first time. No one more fitting to be dumped than Momoka. It's great to see Koyun regretting shoving Minato off before. But does she still believe Minato doesn't like her even after being told by Tsukiko and Momoka? That's a bit frustrating. I really wanna see how this gets resolved. Great episode. Couldn't even tell how fast it was over.

意外な回だった。小雪と五十嵐の決着が描かれるとは思ってなかったし、すごくよくできてた。
正直に言うと、小雪には同情できないかな。五十嵐のほうが、すごく気の毒。彼はただの十代で、本当に小雪に恋してたんだよ（小雪みたいな子という理想に恋してたのかもしれないけど、ここでは関係ない。恋してたことに変わりはない）。小雪のほうは、そうじゃなかった。
エンドロール後の桃香の場面は、意外なほど撮り方がうまかった。この先どうなるか……

This was such a surprising episode, never thought we'd get a resolution for Koyuki and Igarashi and it was very well done.
I don't think i can feel bad for Koyuki if i'm being real honest, i feel very sorry for him though. He was just a teenager actually falling in love with Koyuki (or the idea of a girl like her which doesn't matter here IMO, he was in love), she wasn't.
The Momoka after-credit scene was surprisingly well shot. Let's see where this goes...

小雪も、五十嵐に本当の気持ちを一度も見せなかったし、五十嵐のやってることがいいことみたいに思わせてた。あのころは、どっちも付き合えるほど大人じゃなかったし、準備もできてなかったんだと思う。五十嵐の恋愛観は、フィクションか、よその恋人たちの外から見える姿から来てるみたいだし、小雪は自分が何を望んでるのか全然分かってなかった。五十嵐は友達から付き合えと圧をかけられて、小雪は五十嵐から圧をかけられてた。不思議なことに、お互いありのままで正直に向き合ってる今のほうが、ずっと相性がいい。でも、二人の可能性はもうとっくに過ぎ去ってるんだよね。

Koyun also never showed her true feelings to him at all and made it seem like what he was doing was great. I don't think either one was mature enough or ready for a relationship at that point. Igarashi's ideas of relationships seem to come from fiction and/or the outward appearance of other relationships and Koyun just had no idea what she wanted. Igarashi felt pressured by his friends to be in a relationship and she felt pressured by Igarashi. Oddly they have much better chemistry when they're both honest with each other about who they are but the ship has already sailed for any possibility between them.

月子は要するに視聴者の代弁者だった。どうしてこんなにこじれたのかを小雪に説明して、桃香から男を取り返さなきゃだめだって言ってたし（笑）

Tsukiko just basically speaking for the audience in telling Koyun how this all got screwed up and how Koyun needs to steal her man back from Momoka lol.

公平に言うと、月子も言ってたとおり、桃香は小雪と湊が好き合ってるのを知ってる。今の湊が自分より小雪のほうを好きなことも、自分が追いかける立場なことも分かってる。だから湊と付き合っていても、小雪はまだライバルなんだ。
嫉妬するのは仕方ないと思う。でも、その嫉妬で桃香が何をするかによっては、嫌われても当然になりそう。

Tbf, as Tsukiko pointed out, Momoka knows that Koyun and Amamiya like each other. Momoka even knows that Amamiya currently likes Koyun more than her, and that she's coming from behind. So even if she's dating Amamiya, Koyun is still her competition.
I give Momoka a pass at being jealous, but I expect that what she does with that jealousy will fairly earn her some hate.

桃香は、さんざん頼み込んで、それなりに駆け引きもして湊を『勝ち取った』んだから、不安になるのも当然だよ（笑）。チャンスをつかむためだけに、汚い手を使って湊と小雪の両方の頭に入り込まなきゃいけなかった。要するに、風の強い日に砂の上でトランプのタワーを建てたようなもの。崩れるのが怖くて当たり前だ。

Momoka did "win" him through a lot of begging and more than a little manipulation, so it's no surprise she's feeling insecure lol. She had to use underhanded methods and get into both Minato and Koyuki's heads just to stand a chance. Basically built a house of cards on top of sand on a windy day, no wonder she's scared it'll topple

月子が小雪の言うことを鵜呑みにしないで、湊が小雪を好きなのは自分の意見じゃなくて事実だって念押ししたのがよかった。それに応えなかった小雪がしくじったことも、二人が本当に好き合うようになる前に、湊と彼女を別れさせる手を打たなきゃいけないかもってことも。かなりゲスいやり方だけど、こういう作品にはぴったりのドロドロだよ。桃香のやり方がもっと優しかったら、月子がその作戦を口にしただけで心が痛んだと思う。とはいえ、小雪が何をするにしても、そこまで直球ではいかないだろうな。今すぐ湊のところへ行って、好きだから付き合いたいと言えば、湊が桃香を振るには十分だと思うけど、小雪はそうしないだろうし、あとで五十嵐にも、何もするつもりはないって言ってたし。
五十嵐の目線から二人の関係を見られたのは面白かった。小雪がそこまで乗り気じゃなかったのは明らかなのに、五十嵐はそのサインを、照れてるだけ、かわいいだけって理屈で片づけてた。第1期ではキスの場面は無かったと思うし、今回は両方の視点で見られた。五十嵐はひたすら関係を前に進めようとして、小雪は流されるしかなくて追い詰められてた。この回でやっと、言い合いも含めてちゃんと話をして、全部過去のことにできてよかった。
桃香のエンドロール後の場面を見ると、湊と小雪の間に線を引き始めそう。自分がいないときに湊が小雪とつるんでるなら、付き合ってるだけじゃ足りないんだろう。後ろのラジオで第1期のエンディングが流れてたのも、場面に合ってた。
追記：名前を覚えるのが本当に苦手

I'm glad Tsukiko didn't just take Koyun's word for it and doubled down on telling her that Minato likes her as a fact and not just her opinion and that she f****d up by not reciprocating and might have to take steps to break up him and his girlfriend before they fall in love for real. Thats a pretty scummy thing to do, but the perfect type of drama for a show like this. If Momoka had been nicer about her approach I'd feel bad about Tsukiko even bringing up that tactic. I don't think Koyun will be too direct with anything she does though. I'm sure if she went right up to him now and told him she liked him and wanted to date him that would be enough for him to dump Momoka, which I doubt she'd do and says she plans to do nothing to Igarashi later.
Its interesting seeing the relationship from Igarashi's perspective. Its still clear she wasn't that into him but he was able to logic himself around those signs as her just being shy and cute. I don't think we saw those kissing scenes in season 1 and we got to see them both perspectives, Igarashi just kept trying to drag the relationship forward and Koyun felt trapped to keep being carried along. I'm glad they finally spoke properly this episode arguments and all and put it all behind them.
Post-credit scene with Momoka makes me think she's going to start putting up boundaries between Minato and Koyun. Its not enough to be dating him if he still hangs out with Koyun when she's not around. hearing the season 1 ed on the radio in the background felt fitting to the scene.

正直、小雪には、湊の好意への応え方でどんな間違いをしたのか、それがどうしてこうなったのかを、誰かに全部並べてもらう必要があった。桃香が裏で動いたのは明らかだし、湊は自分の頭の中で空回りしてる。でも小雪も、自分の幸せをつかむことに関する自分の問題と向き合わなきゃいけない。
心の奥ではこの気持ちをあきらめきれない一方で、それに従って略奪者になることもできない。その間で葛藤することになりそう。

Honestly Koyun really needed to someone to basically lay out all the mistakes she made in responding to Minato's affections and how that lead to this. Momoka obviously manipulated things and Minato is caught up in his own head, but Koyun also needs to figure out her own issues with seizing her happiness.
I feel like it's going to be a conflict between how she deep down can't give up on these feelings any more than she can act on them and be a homewrecker.
My condolences to Koyun that her first kiss was A. not consensual and B. not what she wanted.

うん、桃香は何か仕掛けてくると思う。でも小雪は湊を奪う必要はなくて、いずれ湊に自分の気持ちを正直に伝えればいい。ただ、湊のほうにも、今の自分を乗り越える場面が要る。湊がああなったのにも過去のいざこざがあって、少しは描かれたけど、なぜああなったのかの過去話はいちばん尺をもらえてないと思う。湊と小雪がくっつくなら、その前に湊の側でも解放や区切りが必要で、それを生むのが桃香なんじゃないかな。

Yeah i do think Momoka will try something. But Koyun doesn't need to steal him away she needs to be honest eventually with him about her feelings BUT Minato will need to have his own moment to overcome how he is. He has some past drama that made him this way too and its been shown a little but i think his backstory on why he is this way has gotten the least screentime. But if him and Koyun are to get together Minato needs to relief/closure on his end before that and i think Momoka will create that.

Also love Tsukiko just giving Koyuki the run down on how she f****d up. Sure, Momoko had a hand, but yeah Koyuki how she acted is why Minato thought he had no chance.
Yeah. Tsukiko telling Koyun that his at least partly her fault and that she needs to lock in was great. Also if you watch it dubbed it's Emilia telling Meili how she screwed up with the boy she likes and that makes it even better lol.

Nice to see two exes make peace and come to an understanding about why the relationship couldn't work.
At least they've found a dynamic where they can be civil with each other and actually get along, if not exactly as friends, but healthier than they ever were while dating.
And Koyun will hopefully come to realize why a relationship with Minato won't end up like it did with Igarashi.

I think whatever she's doing will backfire spectacularly, with maybe Minato having a Koyun moment where he realises he just can't do it anymore and now's the best time to say so

小雪が、なぜうまくいかなかったのかを自分で分かって、五十嵐に面と向かって言えたのは大事だと思う。湊と桃香がいずれ破綻したとき、本当に一緒にいたい相手ともっと素直に向き合えるようにね。
たとえ桃香以上の略奪をするつもりはなくても、また誰かと付き合うことに、少なくとも前向きでいなきゃいけない。五十嵐との関係や両親の結婚みたいに終わると決めつけずにね。

I think it's important for Koyun to realize and say to Igarashi's face why the relationship never worked so she can be more open to being with someone she actually wants to be with when MinatoxMomoka inevitably crashes and burns.
Because even if she doesn't intend to out-homewreck Momoka, she has to be at least open to the idea of being in a relationship again and not expecting it to end like her relationship with Igarashi or her parents' marriage.

ありがとう、そのとおりだ。桃香は行かなかったって忘れてて、最後に桃香が怒ってた理由を勘違いしてた。あの場面を見直すと、湊がほかの人といるのを見た嫉妬だけじゃなく、自分といるときより、みんなといるときのほうが湊が楽しそうなのを見たからかもしれない。

thanks, you are right and I had forgotten that she didn’t go and misinterpreted why she was upset at the end. Reinterpreting that scene I don’t think it could not only just be jealousy from seeing him with others but also seeing how he is happier with the others than with her.

桃香と湊の恋のドロドロ中心から少し離れて、小雪が別のキャラとの関係の中で自分自身の成長を描けた、いい回だった。
五十嵐は本気で自分を白馬の王子だと思ってて、小雪との関係では自分に『モテ力』があると思い込んでた……でも現実はほど遠かった……😅
それに、男友達に影響されて、小雪への接し方に有害な男らしさを持ち込んでしまった。
小雪と五十嵐の対照的な視点を見せて、お互いの受け取り方がどれだけずれてたかを描いたのはよかった。
この作品は全体を通して、友情でも恋愛でも誤解だらけだけど、人とちゃんと気持ちを伝え合おうと精一杯やること、それがずっと変わらないテーマなんだよね。小雪と五十嵐が、要はお互いへの不満をぶちまけるために言い合ったのは面白かった。
むしろ五十嵐には、自分がどう見えているかをもっと自覚するきっかけになった。そこは五十嵐が直さなきゃいけないところだ。小雪も、気まずい状況から逃げたり引き下がったりせず、人にもっと率直に正直になることを学んでる。二人がやっといい区切りをつけられてよかった。
さて、引きの場面で、また桃香のドロドロに戻る……少なくとも小雪は、今のほうが落ち着いて向き合えるはず。

This was a nice episode to take a bit of a break from centrally focus on the Momoka and Minato love drama, while Koyuki can develop in relation to another character for her own personal growth.
Igarashi really thought he was prince charming and thought he had "rizz" in his head for his relationship with Koyuki... but it was far from the truth... 😅
He also let himself get influenced by his male friends for a toxic sense of masculinity for how to approach Koyuki in their relationship.
I'm glad it showed the contrasting POVs of both Koyuki and Igarashi - to show their own perspective with how out of sync they really were in how they perceived each other.
With all the misunderstandings in the series in general in regards to friendships and romantic relationships -- the theme of trying your best to properly communicate with others has been the constant. It was funny how Koyuki and Igarashi fought it out to basically vent their frustrations with each other.
If anything, Igarashi has the indication to be more self-aware for how he can come across as that is something he needs to work on. Koyuki also learning to be more direct and honest with people instead of running away and backing down from uncomfortable situations. Glad they finally got good closure with each other.
Now with the cliffhanger, back to Momoka drama... at least now Koyuki is in a better head space to deal with the situation.

冒頭で月子が小雪にアドバイスしてたときに流れてた曲がほしい。音楽といえば、エンドロール後の場面でファミレスに流れてたのは、たぶん第1期のエンディングだよね。

I need whatever track they were playing when Tsukiko was giving Koyun advice at the start there. And speaking of music, pretty sure the S1 ED was playing in the restaurant during the post-credit scene.

月子の参謀っぷりが、小雪にずばっと言える度胸として出てたのがよかった。逆転作戦のために、抜け目ない小さな策士になってるのが、単純にかわいいのもある。
五十嵐との再会が、こんなに癒やしになるとは思わなかった。ああいう空気になれるくらい成長した二人に拍手。

It was cool to see Tsukiko's wingwoman energy manifest as her not being afraid to say how it is with Koyun, not to mention plain adorable just watching her be a shrewd little strategist for the big comeback plan.
Never thought an encounter with Igarashi could be so healing. Good on both of them for having grown enough to make that vibe even possible.

まあ、五十嵐は間違いなく最低なやつだった。この回の狙いは分かるけど、退屈で死にそうだった。五十嵐の過去なんて別に興味ないし、話の流れとしては湊との今の状況のほうが面白いんだから、関係ないことに丸一話を無駄にするより、そっちに時間を使ってほしかった。脇役が主人公に『何が起きてるのか』を説明しなきゃいけない展開も大嫌い。主人公が鈍すぎて、相手がどう見ても自分に気があるってことすら考えられないからでしょ。個人的には、今期はあらゆる面で第1期より悪いと思う。

Well, Igarashi surely was an absolute piece of s**t. I get the point of this episode but I was bored out of my mind. I dont particularly care about the backstory of Igarashi and plot wise the current situation with Amamiya is more interesting so I would have prefered the anime to invest more time on that instead of wasting a full episode in something irrelevant. I absolute hate when a side character has to explain to a main character what the hell is happening because the MC is so dense that she is unable to even consider that maybe the other person is obsiously showing interest in her. In my opinion this season has been worse than the first one in every single aspect.

要は、湊との関係だけに注目するんじゃなくて、小雪自身の成長の話なんだよ。この成長を湊との状況に生かせば、まず正しい方向に小さな一歩を踏み出す形になって、成長がもっと自然に感じられる。

I don't think it's irrelevant because it's about Koyuki learning not to back down from uncomfortable situations and being able to properly communicate with people directly. So what better way for her to learn that as individual than with an experience with her ex.
This is basically about her own individual development outside of just focusing on her relationship with Minato to do that for herself in general. Now she can apply that development to the situation she has with Minato to make her development feel more organic with taking smaller steps in the right direction first.

そうだといいけどね。残りの回がそういう流れになるなら。それでも、その『気づき』のためだけに丸一話は、かけすぎだと思う。

Well I hope that you are correct and thats how the rest of the episodes are going to be. Still, I feel like a full episode just for that "realization" is way too much investment.
