I feel like saying it like that wouldn't fully justify the embarrassed reaction to Koyun that she's having. Like the dubtitle seems more matter of fact but that sub translation sounds direct and even somewhat vulgur for Koyun to be saying

このシリーズは好きだし、たぶん『正反対な君と僕』より好きなんだけど、ここのキャラって聞いたことを何でも額面どおりに受け取るよな。平気で誤解するくせに、自分が勘違いしてるかもとか、相手が間違ってるとか嘘ついてるとかは一切考えない

I like this series and probably prefer it to Seihantai, but the characters in this always take what they hear at face value. They misinterpret s**t but never think that they misunderstood or that the other person is f*****g wrong or lying.

EDは最初、『とんがり帽子のアトリエ』のEDみたいな暗くてスローなやつ（映像も曲も）かと思ったんだよ。ああいうのは好きじゃないんだけど、途中から盛り上がってめちゃくちゃ良くなった。ホッとしたわ
『Sakasama』のほうがあの最高の盛り上げ方とか強みは多いけど、こっちは第2期の話にもっと合ってる。ちょっと泣きそうになった

The ED seemed like it was going to be one of those dour slow ones like the Witch Hat Atelier ending (both in visuals and music) which I don't like but then it picks up and becomes really good, I'm relieved

Sakasama has more things going for it like the amazing buildup but this one fits the story in S2 more [spoiler]and made me tear up a bit [/spoiler]

Koori feels way more grounded in reality towards how high school is, or at least that's how it feels to me. Not to say Seihantai doesn't have those moments, but it feels more akin to like something you would've watched on Disney Channel or Nickelodeon as a kid.

Going from the happy Polar Opposites atmosphere to this 4xsuffering was major whiplash.
At least Yota, Miki and Koyuki are finally on the same page with the Minato business, a small positive in all the ;-;

今いちばんの誤解は、小雪と湊がお互い片想いだと思い込んでるのに、実は両想いってところ

Now the big misunderstanding is Koyun and Minato being convinced their feelings are unrequited while actually mutually liking each other.

The ball is in Minato's court, now the whole friend group apart from Minato knows how Koyun feels.

桃香はあんまり好きじゃないけど、冒頭のモノローグはほぼ「言い方はアレだけど正論」ってミームそのものだった

Not a big fan of Momoka, but her opening monologue is basically the “she’s out of line but she’s right” meme

そこがあのキャラの好きなところなんだよ。人としてはイラッとするけど、敵役としては小雪の対比として完璧

That's what I like about her character. Not her as a person because she sure annoys me but as an antagonist she is the perfect foil for koyun.

これが他のアニメやラブコメだったら、たぶん桃香を応援してたんじゃないかって気もする。自分の気持ちにグイグイ素直だから（だからこそ負けヒロインになるんだろうけど、それは置いといて）

I also can't help but feel like if this were any other show or romcom we'd probably be rooting for Momoka because she's more aggressive/forward with her feelings (which is also probably why she would be a Losing Heroine, but I digress).

結局最後には、小雪が自分の気持ちに何も行動しないまま諦めるっていう「楽な」道を選んで、桃香の言ってたことを証明しちゃってるんだよな（湊から目が離せないんだから、口で言うほど簡単じゃないだろうけど）

Even in the end Koyun kind of proves her right by basically taking the "easy" way out of giving up on her feelings without actually doing anything about them (even if it will probably be easier said than done because she can't take her eyes off of Minato).

もしかしたら、湊への気持ちを諦めようとして桃香の言った通りになりかけてる途中で、桃香が湊に迫ろうとしてるのを見て、それがきっかけで桃香の予想外に小雪のほうから湊に動くのかもな

Maybe in the process of proving Momoka right by trying to give up on Koyun feelings for Minato she sees Momoka trying to put the moves on him and that galvanizes to do something Momoka doesn't expect in making a move on Minato.

なんかこのアニメ見てると、また10代に戻った気分になる。そこが好きなんだけど、めちゃくちゃストレスも溜まるw すれ違いはたまにかわいくてバカっぽいけど、恋愛のゴタゴタで血圧も上がるわ。いろんな感情が渦巻きすぎ
陽太と美姫の件はなんか凹む。で、そのうえ雨宮と小雪だよ。まだまだすれ違ってるし。ほんとにちゃんと話し合わないとダメだって

Somehow this show makes me feel like I’m a teenager again. I kinda love it for that but it also really stresses me out lol. Like, the misunderstandings are kind of cute and silly sometimes but the relationship drama also raises my blood pressure haha. There’s just so many emotions swirling around.
This Yota-Miki situation is just kind of bumming me out. And then there’s Amamiya and Koyun. There’s still all this misunderstanding still. They really really gotta have a proper talk.

第2期を桃香から始めて、小雪についての本音を聞かせるのは妥当だと思う。けど、あの子はやっぱりやりすぎ

Starting Season 2 with Momoka and hearing her thoughts about Koyun feels about right, but girl is still doing too much.

あれで、桃香が小雪に「湊はあんたのこと好きだと思う」ってはっきり言った理由が分かる気がする。湊はほぼ手中にあるのに小雪が受け身で煮え切らないのが嫌で、要は小雪をけしかけて動かそうとしてるんだと思う

I feel like it does explain why Momoka straight up told Koyun that she thought Minato liked her. I feel like she's basically egging on Koyun to do something because she hates how passive/non-committal Koyun is when she already has Minato basically in the bag.

考えや気持ちはそのままで、意地の悪さだけ抑えれば、もっと受け入れられると思うんだよな。正直、自分の気持ちにあれだけ真っすぐで素直なところは本当に尊敬してる

I feel like if she keeps her thoughts and feelings but tone down her mean-spiritedness, people may be more receptive of her. I mean tbh I really admire how forward and honest with her feelings she is.

この手の脚本には愛憎入り混じった感情がある。セリフも考え方もいちいち共感できすぎるから嫌いだし、セリフも考え方もいちいち共感できすぎるから好きなんだよ

I have such hate/love relationship with this kind of writing. I hate it because every dialogue and thought process behind their thoughts are super relatable, and I love it because every dialogue and thought process behind their thought are super relatable.
I feel most pity for Yota, since breaking a longterm friendship is super hard. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Don't forget to watch the scene after the ending as well!

I might be jumping the gun and I really could see them just staying friends, but the ED scene with MikixYota really gave me the vibe that Miki realizing she wants to be with him romantically too as she runs to him with tears. Like finally realizing what she really has.

Yeah... The author definitely understands this sort of relationship drama and the thoughts each person on each side can have... There've been too many times where I have to give a wry smile and laugh that that was basically me earlier in my life...

『正反対な君と僕』のほっこりしたキラキラ感は終わり、また『氷の城壁』の塹壕に戻ってきた。ズシンと来る的確な感情ドラマだ（ちびキャラのかわいい小悪魔シーンはちゃんと残しつつ）

Gone are the wholesomeness and bubbly energy of Polar Opposites, back are we in the trenches of Ramparts with their hard-hitting and on-point emotional drama (while still keeping the cute chibi gremlin moments).

しかも初っ端からエモ列車だしな！

And with the feel train right from the get go!

「またドラマと苦悩の準備はいいか？」
「でも氷の城壁さん、苦悩とドラマなら第1期の最後でもうやったじゃん」
「ああ、でも2回目はどうよ？」
正直、間に『正反対な君と僕』を挟んでおいて良かったわ。この苦悩の前に必要なほのぼの成分だった。
それにしても、小雪が「陽太は体目当てじゃない」って言って、美姫がそこまで踏み込むかって唖然としてるのはめちゃくちゃ笑った。
ただあのラストは…第1期みたいな劇的な盛り上げ方としてはちょっと弱いかな。でも希望がありそうな雰囲気だったし、どう使ってくるのか楽しみ。

"But Rampart of Ice, we already had angst and drama at the end of Season 1"
"Yeah, but what about a second time?"
Honestly, good thing we had You and I are Polar Opposite in the middle, because it was just the fluff we needed for this angst.
Still, there is just something amazingly funny about Koyun saying : "Yota is not after your body." while Miki is just shocked that she even went there.
However that ending... not quite as good for a dramatic build up like in season 1. But with how hopeful it sound, I can't wait to see how they will use it.

I love how the angst and drama are somehow even more heightened than in season 1, complete with dramatic, moody, rain atmosphere.
I don't think the idea of s*x even entered into it for Miki until Koyun brought it up. Koyun was so precise about it too lol.

苦悩だらけの回でこんなに笑えるのは珍しい。美姫と小雪が誤解を全部解いたところで泣き笑いしたわ😂😭

Rarely had an angst-filled episode be so funny. I was in tears when Miki and Koyun cleared the whole misunderstanding 😂😭

第2期をずっと楽しみにしてたけど、いきなりこんな強烈に始める必要あった！？
なんで脚本がこんなに素晴らしくて、キャラがこんなに共感できて、若さゆえの混乱の中で自分の気持ちを整理しようともがく姿がこんなに心に刺さるんだよ？

I've been looking forward season 2, but did they need to start it that strong?!
Why the hell is the writing so amazing, are the characters so freaking relatable and why does it hit so hard in the feels seeing them agonizing in their youthful confusion trying to figure out their emotions?

Wait a f*****g minute. As someone who follows seiyuu, I am incredibly ashamed to only now notice (I’m pretty sure it’s been mentioned in S1) that we have Chiba Shouya character and Kito Akari character all over again. And that other show is also airing this season lol

great episode though, I love Minato as a character.
the ED was really good (assuming they didnt play the op at the end, but feels more like an ED to me) and production was pretty solid too.

確認したけどEDだったよ。前期のEDが大当たりだったから今期は外すんじゃないかと心配してたけど、すごく気に入った。
あのレストランの場面をどう映像化するのか気になってたけど、見事にやってくれたと思う。

I double checked and it's the ED. I was afraid that they'd whiff on the ED this season after hitting a grand slam last season, but I really liked it.
I have been wondering how they would adapt the restaurant scene and I thought that this did a great job.

こういう「恋は痛い」系の話がいちばん好き。
小雪が陽太の気持ちを、美姫が救われるような形で言い表してくれたのが良かった。ラブコメお決まりのすれ違いの中で、あれがたぶん一番ちゃんと伝わった気持ちだったと思う。

These "love is painful" stories are my favorite.
I appreciate Koyun managing to frame Yota's feelings in a way that comforts Miki. In the midst of the typical romcom-miscommunication, that was probably the most properly communicated feeling.

特に、美姫は陽太の気持ちに気づいてから2人の友情を全部疑ってたわけだからな。でも友情は本物だった。

Especially knowing that after Miki figured out Yota's feelings she was second-guessing everything about their friendship. But the friendship was genuine.

このアニメほんと好き。恋する高校生ならではの苦悩とドラマが全部好き。今期も楽しみ。最高だわ
正直、小雪と美姫がレストランで男子たちから隠れてて、湊が小雪をただの友達としか見てないって知る場面で前期が終わると思ってた。今期につなぐ最高の引きになってたはずなのに

Honesty thought the scene where Koyun and Miki are at the restruant hiding from Minato and Amamiya and discovering that Amamiya only sees Koyun as a friend was were the last season was gonna leave off. Felt like it would've been a perfect cliffhanger going into this season

第1話からまた、なぜこれが一番好きな作品なのか思い出させてくれた。

Episode 1 again reminding me why this is my favorite.

あの桃香って子、マジで正真正銘の悪女なんだな。
中心の仲良しグループがまた仲良しグループに戻っていくのは嬉しいけど、すれ違いで離れて、すれ違いで戻ったようなもんだから、ドラマはまだ終わってないだろうな。でも少なくとも小雪と美姫の間では男子の件ははっきりした。まあ、美姫が「小雪が好きなのは陽太」って思ってたよりはね。
EDへの重いつなぎが無くなったのは寂しい。でも新しい曲もいい曲だし、2組のカップルがいずれ結ばれることをかなり匂わせてる。

So that Momoka girl is straight up evil evil, huh.
Nice to see the central friend group getting back to being a friend group, but they kind of misunderstood their way both out of it and back into it so I'm sure the drama isn't over. But at least Koyuki and Miki are clear on the boy situation. Well, clearer than Miki thinking that Yota is who Koyuki likes.
I miss the heavy ED lead in. The new one is a nice song, however, and pretty heavily hints that our two ships will sail eventually.

それに、2人ともどうせ動かないって分かってるなら、自分が動くのって本当に悪いことか？見方によっては、2人を苦しみから解放してあげてるとすら言えるかもしれない。もちろん、俺たちは全員の心の中まで文字通り分かってるけど、彼女はせいぜいどれくらい本気かなんとなく察してる程度だから、話はちょっと違うけどね。

I don't know, evil is a strong word here. Momoka likes Amamiya and wants to be together with him. Yes, she knows he likes Koyun and she likes him. So she could help them, but then, I can understand you not wanting to do that in this situation. It's easy to judge when you are not the person in love.

And at the same time, if you know neither of the two will make a move, is it truly evil to just make a move yourself? Depending on how you look at it, you might even argue, she is putting them out of their misery. Of course, it's a bit different for us where we literally know the thoughts of every party where she has an idea of how serious it is at best.

In a way, yeah. But she is also just looking out for herself AND she does have a point about Koyun. I don't get her hating the passiveness though, it's not like Koyun's passiveness impacts her except offering her an opportunity.

Momoka is...interesting. And cute.

桃香が本当に嫌なのは、自分の理解ではどうせ小雪は動かないのに、湊を「横取り」したら自分が悪者に見えるってことなんだと思う。そりゃ一番優しいのは2人をくっつけてあげることだけど、本当に湊が好きなら、そうしたくない気持ちも分かる。

I think what Momoka actually hates is the fact that she looks like a bad person for "stealing" Amamiya when in her understanding, Koyun would never make a move anyway. I mean, of course, the nicest thing would be to bring them together, but at the same time, I can understand her not wanting to do it if she actually has feelings for Amamiya.

作者がどれだけすごいか語らずにはいられない。特にもう一つのシリーズが終わるところだしな。どっちも名作。普段は10代の苦悩もの系は好きじゃないんだけど、この回ですら、若い頃の似たような経験を思い出してクスッとしたわ。

Can't help but gush about how good the author is, especially since the other series is ending. Just straight bangers. I usually don't like teenage angst-filled shows, but even in this episode, it made me chuckle, remembering similar experiences I had when I was younger.

苦悩の濃さがちょうどいいんだよな。大げさでも控えめすぎでもない。世界の終わりみたいに演じられてもいないけど、誰も茶化したりもしない。みんながこの問題を誠実に扱ってて、誰も傷つけないように精一杯頑張ってる…それでも、うっかりお互いを傷つけてしまうのを止められない。たまらなく好き。

It just feels like it's the exact correct intensity for the angst, it doesn't feel exaggerated or underplayed, it's neither acted like it's world-ending but also no one's cracking any jokes about it. Everyone's treating the subject respectfully, everyone's doing their hardest not to hurt anyone else... and they *still* can't stop from accidentally hurting each other anyways. I love it.

あのレストランの場面がアニメになるのをずっと待ってた…美姫がついに、小雪の気持ちが陽太じゃなくて湊に向いてるって知るんだよ…最高のやつが帰ってきた！！！

I had been waiting for that restaurant scene to get animated ... Miki finally gets to know about Koyun's feelings which were for Minato and not Yota...peak is back !!!

アニメ勢としての最初の感想は、第1話からもうこんなに美味しい展開なのかってこと。原作勢はあの終わり方でさぞ悶えてただろうなｗ

My first thought as an anime-only is how juicy this first episode was already and manga fans must have been crazy where it left off at lol

今期もまた素晴らしいシーズンになりそう。

一番好きなアニメが帰ってきた！
第1期の終わり方からして、めちゃくちゃ重い回になるのは確定だった（陽太と美姫の件で友情が崩れるかもって話だし）。この回はずっと陽太がかわいそうだった。心は死んでるのに平静を保たなきゃいけないし、男子トークで流れ弾まで食らうし。せめてちびキャラやギャグのシーンが散りばめられてて、暗くなりすぎずに済んだ。
みんな桃香は嫌いだけど、冒頭のナレーションは（事実としては）間違ってない。結局、小雪はたまたま聞いちゃったことを根拠に、傷つかないよう自分の気持ちを埋めてしまう。一つの誤解が終わったら、また別の誤解が始まる

Fav show is back!
Considering where S1 ended off this was bound to be a super heavy episode (dealing with the friendship fallout risk of YotaMiki). Felt so bad for Yota this entire episode, he’s dead inside, has to keep it together and took a stray shot during the boys’ talk. At least the chibi / comedy moments were sprinkled in to keep things less depressing.
We hate Momoka but her opening narration isn’t (factually) wrong. In the end Koyun buries her feelings to avoid getting hurt, based on something she overhears. One misunderstanding ends another begins

湊が小雪をただの友達だって言ったとき、陽太はそれが本心じゃないって感じ取ってた気がするのはなぜだろう？いずれにしても、いきなり激重な空気だったな。
元のEDとあの完璧にドラマチックなつなぎを続けてほしかったけど、新しいEDの切ない雰囲気の方が今の状況にずっと合ってる（それにすごくいい曲だし）

Why do I get the feeling Yota could sense Amamiya wasn't speaking from his heart when he said Koyun was just a friend? Either way, real heavy mood right out the gate man.
I was hoping they'd keep the original ED and the immaculately dramatic build up to it but the melancholic tone of the new one fits the state of things a lot better (not to mention that it's such a nice song too)

この作品の劇伴はほとんど覚えてないんだけど（第1クールの「サカサマ」へのつなぎは別）、美姫と湊、陽太と小雪がそれぞれ本音で話し合ってるときに流れてた曲は本当に美しかった。
EDも今のところすごく好き。「やばい、これ史上最高のEDへの入り方だろ」ってなった「サカサマ」ほどのインパクトは無いけど、無くていいんだ。氷は溶けたんだから、今度はカップルたちの心がつながっていく話なんだよ。

I largely don't recall the background OSTs from this show (outside of the leadup to Sakasama during the first cour) but that song that played during the heart to hearts between Miki and Minato, and between Yota and Koyun was absolutely gorgeous.
Also a big fan of the ED so far. It doesn't pack the "holy s**t, this is the best lead in to an ED ever" that Sakasama did, but it doesn't need to. The Ice has been thawed, and it's now about the couples' hearts connecting.

これに備えて第1期を全部見返したんだけど、すぐ気づいたのは劇伴がどれだけほろ苦いかってこと。初めて聞いても懐かしい感じがするのに、心が落ち着くんだよな

I just rewatched the entirety of S1 leading up to this and one thing that I immediately noticed was how bittersweet the OST can be. It sounds nostalgic the first time you hear it yet soothing

涙だらけの第1話だった。小雪が出てる場面で泣いてなかったのって、電車のところだけじゃないかな。
美姫と小雪の間の誤解が解けたのは良かった。でも同時に、湊が陽太に小雪を好きだって認められなかったせいで、また別の誤解が生まれた。

Very tearful first episode. I think the only scene Koyun was in that she wasn't crying was the train ride.
The misunderstandings between Miki and Koyun have been cleared up which is good. At the same time another misunderstanding happened because Minato could not admit to Yota that he likes Koyun.

WE ARE BACKKK

帰ってきた。ドラマが濃すぎて次が気になるから、週1で観るのがめちゃくちゃしんどいタイプの作品なんだよな。
でも12週待って一気見するのも無理。というわけで付き合っていくぞ。

We are back and this is one of those shows where it will be so hard to watch it weekly with all the drama and needing to see what happens next.
But i also cannot wait 12 weeks to binge. So here we go.

新EDはいいし、本編からそのまま入る演出の伝統も続けるみたいだけど、1期のEDほどのパンチはないかな。今回はクリフハンガーというより切ない終わり方だったからハマってたけど、話がそこまで沈んでないときにどう合うのかはちょっと気になる。
なんにせよ、この名作が帰ってきてくれて嬉しい。もうすぐ終わる兄弟作とは雰囲気が「正反対」だけどな。

The new ED is nice and it seems like they're keeping with the lead in tradition with it, but it just doesn't have the punch of the first ED. It worked for this episode because of the more melancholy than cliffhangery end. However, I can't help but wonder how it would fit when things aren't so somber.
Anyway, happy to have this great show back even if the mood is a polar opposite of its fellow that's ending soon.

やっと帰ってきた！これで『正反対な君と僕』が終わった後の穴も埋まる。
今回は胸が苦しくなる展開だらけだったけど、誤解の大半が解けてよかった。

It's finally back! At least this will fill the hole after Polar Opposites is over.
So much angst this episode, but glad most misunderstandings were aired out.

【原作ネタバレ】美姫が陽太を振ってあんなに思い悩んでるの、最終的には陽太のことを好きになるって知ってると笑えてくる。

初っ端から全力。この作品は会話もモノローグも本当に素晴らしい。美姫を抱きしめてあげたい。あと雨の中のピアノがすごかった。キャラの動きに合わせて、感情のツボを全部押してくる。それと1期の始まりから今までの湊の成長は見事だし、ちゃんと積み上げてきたものだと思う。
WcDonaldsのシーン、『薫る花は凛と咲く』のファミレスの場面を思い出したわ。尾行はしてないけど。
ああ湊、「友達として」はやめてくれ。今それは駄目だ。美姫とこゆんがちゃんと話して誤解が解けたのは本当によかった。ただでさえいろいろ起きてるのに、あの誤解まで話をかき回し続けたらたまらん。
このちびキャラたちが恋しかった。
この曲ってOP？ED？どっちにしろ気に入った。EDだとしたら、前期のEDみたいに本編から流れ込む感じにはなってないな。

Coming out swinging. This show has such wonderful dialogue/monologue. I really want to hug Mikki. Also the piano in the rain is incredible. Hitting all the right emotions to go with the characters' actions. Also Minato's growth from start of season 1 to now is phenomenal and entirely earned.

Hahaha the WcDonalds moment is making me think of the family restaurant moment from Fragrant Flower except no stalking.

Oh no Minato, not 'as a friend'. Not now. Oh thank god Mikki and Koyun cleared the air so that's in the past. There's enough going on we don't need that misunderstanding to keep mucking up the works.

I've missed these chibi characters.

I kind of needed to see that scene of Koyun and Minato reaching for each other and grabbing their hands. There is light at the end of the frozen tunnel!

EDだよ。
実はEDの直前にちょっと気づいたことがあって、前期と同じように本編から入る演出になると思う。ただ今期のEDはずっと控えめ。今回の話には完璧に合ってたし、たぶんこのクール全体にも合うんじゃないかな。
正直「サカサマ」がなくなるのは寂しいけど、これをどう使ってくるのかは楽しみ。1期ほどすごいか？って言われたらノーだけど、あんな奇跡を2回続けて起こすなんて無理だろ。

It's the ED.
Actually, I noticed something near the ED that I think will have a similar lead-in like last season, but this season's ED is much more reserved. Which totally fit for this episode, and I'm kind of thinking will fit for the season as well.
NGL, I'm going to miss Sakasama, but I'm interested in how they use this. Is it as amazing as S1? No, but frankly I'm not sure how you manage to collect lightning in a bottle twice in a row.

初っ端の1分目からいきなりドラマに突入して、一切時間を無駄にしなかったな。
小雪に対する桃香の辛辣な評価、容赦なさすぎ。問題はそれが図星だってことで、ただ意地悪してるだけとは言いにくい。
重いドラマの合間に、小雪が「陽太は美姫をそういう目で見てるわけじゃない」って言うところでちょっと笑った。小雪本人は冗談のつもりなんてないのに、あの真顔の言い方がさらに効いてた。

This show wasted no time with the drama, jumping straight to it from the first minute.

Momoka's got absolutely no chill with that scathing assessment of Koyuki. Problem was, she's got it bang on – hard to say she's simply being a prick.

Between all the heavy drama, there's a bit of humour when Koyuki said that Youta's not lusting after Miki. The deadpan delivery further sold it despite Koyuki not intending to make a joke.

これが最終走者なのに、鈴木はまだ1話残ってて走り終わってないのが面白い。

It is funny this is the final leg but Suzuki still has another episode before she's actually finished.

なんせ足が遅いのは公式設定だからな。

It's canon that she's a slow runner after all.

アニメ化で多少の調整が必要なのは分かるけど、あのファミレスのシーンは原作のほうがはるかにインパクトがデカい。73話ではカメラが湊と陽太だけを映してるんだよ。二人が店に入ってあれこれ話して、湊が「こゆんのことは友達として好き」って言った次のコマで、すぐ隣に座ってるこゆんと美姫が凍りついた顔をしてるっていう。初めてここまで読んだとき、ぶっ飛んだわ

I understand that anime adaptation need to make some adjustment but the impact of that restaurant scene has WAY LARGER IMPACT in the manga. In Ch.73 the camera only focuses on Minato and Yota. They went to the restaurant and say this and that, and when Minato says the line about he "likes Koyun as a friend", the next panel was Koyun and Miki sitting just next to them with horrified face. When I first read until here I was blown up

俺ガイルの比企谷の、仲良しグループなんて役割を埋めるためにいるだけ、ってモノローグを思い出した。あいつが同じクラスにいたらなあ。

This reminds me of Hikigaya (Oregairu) monolouge about a group of friends are there just to fill up the role. How I wish he is in the same class.

最高の回だった。いちばん好きなアニメ／漫画が帰ってきた！

amazing episode, my favorite anime/manga is back!

陽太の告白の後、グループはまだぎくしゃくしたままで、誤解がそれをさらに悪化させてるところから再開。男女の友情って、片方が（こゆんと雨宮の場合は両方が）恋愛感情を持っちゃうとこんなに難しくなるんだなっていうのがよく出てる。全部うまくいってた頃の4人を見てるのが楽しかったぶん、見ててつらい。
盗み聞きのくだりは複雑な気持ち。ちょっとベタだったから、女子二人がいきなり「いるよ」ってバラして、席を移ってって言い出さないかと期待してた。完全にキャラ崩壊だけど（もしそうなってたら笑ってたと思う）。
あと、こゆんが陽太じゃなくて雨宮って言ったとき、またしても人の気持ちを読み違えてたって気づく美姫がかわいそう。

Based on the content im guessing they got Quentin Tarantino to guest direct the phone call scene between Kuriki and Amamiya.

We return with the group still not doing well after the Yota’s confessions and misunderstandings have just made it worse. It shows how tough a friendship between a guy and a girl can be if one (or both with Kohyun and Amamoya) develop feelings and its rough to see it considering how fun it was to watch all 4 together when everything was going well.

I have mixed feelings about the listening in part. It was kinda tropey so I was hoping the girls would suddenly reveal they were there and ask them to move somewhere else even though it would be completely out of character (would get a chuckle out of me though if it had happened).

Also poor Miki once again realizing she misread someone elses feelings again when Kohyun said Amamiya instead of Yota.

帰ってきたと思ったら、なんとも切ない回。雨、孤独、沈んだ音楽、そして感情。誤解が一つ片付いてよかった。
ファミレスのシーンは『薫る花は凛と咲く』の似た場面を思い出した。友達同士の会話をこっそり聞いちゃって涙ぐむやつ。

It's back and what a melancholy episode to return to. We got rain, loneliness, somber music, and feelings. Glad we were about to get one misunderstanding out the way.

The restaurant scene reminded me of a similar scene in The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity. Friends secretly overhearing other friends and getting teary eyed.

話としては最高のスタート！
でも作画、ちょっと微妙じゃない？俺だけ？
1期のいくつかの話と比べてみたら、なんかカクカクしてて動きが滑らかじゃない気がする。
もしそうなら悲しいけど、1期から2期までの期間が短かったことを考えるとあり得るかも

storywise great start!
But is it just me, or does the animation feel a little off?
Compared it too some episodes from season 1 and somehow it feels very blocky and the movements are not as fluent.
Sad if that is true, but could be considering the short timeframe from season 1 to season 2

この作品は、悪役らしい悪役がいないのにキャラを絶望させるのが本当にうまい。誤解にしても、キャラがわざと聞かない・話さないってだけじゃなく、ちゃんと練られてる。
美姫の気持ちはなんとなく分かるけど、正直自分は告白される側になったことがないから共感はできない。でもこゆんがいいことを言ってた。女子に限った話じゃないけど、前のシーズンの終わりの議論を見てると、女子って、友達だった男子が好きになった途端に見る目を変えると思ってるっぽいんだよな。で、友達だと思ってたのに、向こうはずっと恋愛対象として見てたんだって裏切られた気持ちになる（ざっくり言うとね）。でもこゆんはここで、陽太は美姫を「友達でもあり恋愛対象でもある」と見てるのかもって言ってる。どっちか一方じゃなくて。これはこゆん、まさにその通りだと思う。
あとこゆんの「バカみたい」もめちゃくちゃ共感できる。しかもタチが悪いのは、頭では分かってることがあるってこと。あの人は自分に優しいんじゃなくて、誰にでも優しいんだって。でも心はそんなのお構いなしに好きになっちゃう。
にしても、このグループはこれからすごく気まずくなるぞ。美姫と陽太はお互い自然に振る舞おうとしてるし、湊とこゆんは本当は両思いなのに、片思いだと思い込んで気持ちを押し殺してる

This show does really well making its characters feel despair without really having a villain. And even the misunderstandings are well thought out rather than just characters purposefully not listening/talking.

I kinda get how Miki feels but tbh, I’ve never been on the receiving end so I can’t relate. But Koyun brings up a good point. While not exclusively girls, it did seem judging from discussions at the end of previous seasons, that girls think guys suddenly look at the girls they like differently if they were friends before. And they feel betrayed cos they thought the guys see them as friends but he saw her as love interest the whole time (paraphrasing but yeah). But Koyun here basically says Yota may see her as a friend that’s also a love interest, not one or the other. Which I think is spot on by Koyun.

And Koyun’s “I feel so stupid” is super relatable too. And what’s worse is sometimes your brain can see it. They’re not just nice to you, they’re nice to everybody. But your heart doesn’t care and catches feelings anyway.

But man, this group is gonna get so awkward. Miki and Yota trying to act natural with each other. Minato and Koyun suppressing their feelings for each other cos they think it’s not mutual when it actually is

こゆんも陽太と同じ経験をすることになると思う。一度知ってしまった恋心は、埋めたり消したりするのが難しい。それが初めての本気の恋ならなおさら。

I think Koyun's going to experience what Yota did where it's hard to bury/erase feelings of love after you've experienced/discovered them, especially when it's your first, real, love.
