あいつは強欲で目先しか見てない。国の状況は悪くて、もっと悪くなりそうだった。でも自分は守られた砦に座ってて、農民の税から横領もできたから、農民の問題に金と人手を割くのは優先順位に入ってなかった。
そこへ誰かが手を打ち始めて、何もしてなかった自分が悪く見えるから腹を立ててる。しかもロメリアの方がずっと格上だから、止めることも（邪魔することも）できない。望みは、彼女が経験不足でしくじって元どおりになること。悪いことが起きても、自分は責任を負わずに済むってわけだ

He's greedy and short-sighted. Current situation was bad for the country, with tendency to get worse, but since his ass was sitting in a protected fort, and he could still embezzle from peasant taxes, spending money and manpower on solving peasant problems wasn't on his priority list.
Now somebody is doing something about situation, and he's upset because it makes him look bad for not doing anything. Worse, he can't even shut Romelia down (or sabotage her) since she outranks him so much. His only hope is that her inexperience will do her in and status quo returns, with bad s**t happening maybe and him not taking any blame.

隊員の才能が分かって、ロメリアは隊の中に信頼を築こうとしてるみたいだ。ただ、この回は最悪の方向へ大きく転がった。まだ序盤なのに、命がかかった厳しい状況でもうロメリアが試されてる

Looks like Romelia is trying to build trust among the group after realizing what their talents are.

Unfortunately, this episode also took a dramatic turn for the worst. It's early in the show but this is already testing Romelia under heavy circumstances with lives at risk.

Ray's recklessness kept screwing things up for everyone else. Know your role, and stick with it.

レイは役立たずだって、本当に押してくるな。ミスを重ねて、隊のみんなを要らない危険にさらし続けるけど、最後の最後で急に風の魔法を使って形勢をひっくり返す、そういうキャラの成長の流れなんだろう……うっとうしいし、めちゃくちゃバカっぽい。でも、それが彼の型なんだ。熱血で役立たずで、土壇場で奇跡を起こして窮地を救い、みんなに好かれるようになる、ってやつ（笑）……
隊を鍛えて、強い敵に一緒に挑む準備をする小さな遠征がまた増えた！ 三本脚狩りで罠を使ったゲリラ戦のやり方が最高だった。ただ、魔王軍の残党相手には、今の手では限界だった。少なくとも今の装備じゃ、持ちこたえることも、戦うこともできない

They are really pushing this Ray is useless, he keeps making mistakes and putting everyone in the unit in unnecessary and dangerous situations, but he will suddenly manage to use his wind magic and turn the tide at the last moment, type of s**t with his character arc... Its annoying and dumb af, but that's the archetype that he represents, hot blooded, useless guy who last second will pull a miracle stunt, save the day, and everyone will start loving him lol...

More little excursions to build up the unit and prepare them to fight together against more dangerous foes! Loved the guerilla warfare approach with the traps during the boar hunt, but they hit the limit with what they can currently do against the demon lord army remanence, at least the gear they have is not enough to hold, and even fight against those troops.

I really like how this anime emphasizes tactics and that Romelia’s skill is as a commander more than anything else- and that she’s good at it

この陣形は見ていて本当に気持ちよかった。ブラッディ・ロメリアが大軍を率いて、『死を！』と叫んで突撃させるところが見たい。

This battle formation was really satisfying to see.
I really want to see Bloody Romelia command a big army, and just scream Death!! as they charge.

This anime continues to prove that it's actually a Fire Emblem anime in disguise.

少なくとも、作者がシリーズの大ファンなのは確かだ。ゲームをそれなりに遊べば、どう書かれてるか分かる

It's at least clear the author is a big fan of the series. You just need to play enough of the games to see how the show is written.

Ray's flame even blazed green to affirm his role as a Christmas cav (who apparently would be better off being reclassed into a Mage Knight)

正直、何らかの代償があって、兵が何人か死んでほしい。そのあと誰かが助けに来るか、誰かの魔法が急に目覚めてみんなを救うとかね。

ngl, I hope there are consequences and some soldiers die. then after whoever comes and kill them all or one of them randomly awakens their magic and saves the crew

一人だけ、まるで有能じゃないのがいるけどな

One of them is very incompetent.

この作品の緊張感が本当にありがたい。アルがあちこちで死亡フラグを立ててるのは別にしても、最初の魔王軍の兵が出てきただけで本気で鳥肌が立った。ロメリアの隊は今、明らかにレベル不足だ。登場人物みんなに主人公補正がかかってる最近の作品と違っていい

I really appreciate the amount of stakes this show has. Asides from Al throwing death flags left and right, I genuinely got chills just by the mere appearance of the first demon soldier showing up, thinking Romelia's cast is currently vastly under-leveled for that. Its a nice change from other recent shows where it feels the entire cast consistently has plot armor.

ずっと見せてると思うよ。戦略の頭の良さが一番の強みだ。それに、運で大きな幸運を引き寄せる力もある。王子の一行で大きな戦力になれたのも、たぶんそれが理由だ。
最近のファンタジーアニメのせいで、主人公はまだ本当の力を出してないって考えるのが癖になってるんだと思う。ロメリア、アル、レイの中で化けるキャラがはっきりレイなのは、かなり意図的に見える。成長するのは、アルでもロメリアでもなくレイだろうな

Wonder if we're going to see Romelia's actual ability/strength now?
I would argue she has been showing this whole time. Intelligence regarding strategy is her biggest strength. Alongside her ability to draw great fortune with her luck. That is very likely why she was a huge asset to the Prince's party.
I think modern fantasy anime has conditioned people to think the protagonist doesn't have their true strength. It feels very intentional the breakout character between Romelia, Al and Ray is clearly Ray. I bet he is the one that gets the development then either Al or Romelia.

この町はロメリアの家のもので、あいつは管理を任されて横領してたんだと思う。売るつもりで取っておいた鎧や武器は彼女に持っていかれたし、町の修理の費用も、横領するはずだった資金を削ってる

I am pretty sure Romelia's family owns the city, he is assigned to manage it, and was embezzling. Her actions took armor and weapons he set aside to sell and the additional resources for fixing the city is draining the fund he was going to embezzle from.

代官のセルベクが、受け身の敵役なのがいい。『村の修理に物資が要る？ ああ……それは困りましたね、回せる分は無いですが、必ず発注しておきますよ😅』（訳：『誰が手伝うか！』）みたいなタイプじゃなくてさ。
みんな無事に切り抜けて、あの代官がブチ切れるのを全員で楽しめると信じてる。
あとは、ロメリアの［幸運の女神］が発動して、どうやってこの窮地を抜けるのかを待つだけだ

I appreciate that Administrator Serbeck is more of a passive Antagonist rather than a, "Oh you need supplies to repair the village?Ah... that's quite troublesome, I don't have any we can spare but I'll definitely order some 😅" (read: "Like HELL I'm helping!")
I'm sure they will all make it out and we will all revel at the Admin's crashout.
I'm just waiting for her [Lady Luck] to activate and see how it gets her out of this situation.

正直さ、ここの代官は何が不満なんだ？
自分の懐に入れたかった物資を要求されてるのは確かだ。でも長い目で見れば、村が壊され続けたら収入は無くなるし、いずれ砦の町まで危なくなるかもしれない。あんな少ない兵で税収を守ってくれてるんだから、むしろ恩を受けてる側だろ。
近親婚を重ねた田舎貴族ってのは、やっぱり出来がいまいちなんだな……

Honestly? What's the local Administrators problem?
Yes, she demands supplies that he wanted to keep for himself, but ultimately, in the long run, if the villages keep getting destroyed there'll be no more income and even the Fortress City might get threatened at some point. She's doing him a solid by keeping revenues flowing with such a small party of soldiers.
I guess the inbred local nobility really isn't top tier material ...

She undermines his authourity. Before Romelia did show up he could just chill in castle and tell villagers there is nothing he can do with demons rampage. Bcs of Romelia he can't just coast and enjoy his position anymore.

His attitude almost makes it seem as if he has made some sort of deal with the Demons. He does not appear to WANT to have the territory protected.

レイの行動って、本当に意外か？ 俺の見方だと、レイは殺すのが嫌いだけど、恋愛として好きなロメリアに認めてもらえない方がもっと嫌なんだ。危ない役を任されたアルが褒められるのを見るのはつらいだろうから、同じことをして散々な結果になった。それに、ロメリアがレイを護衛にしたのは、たぶん魔物を殺さずに済むようにだ。そこにもう一つ層がある。
とにかくセルベクはクズだ。ロメリアの隊の居場所を魔物に漏らしたんじゃないかとすら思えるけど、それは考えすぎか

Are Ray’s actions really surprising? My take is that while Ray hates killing, he hates more not being acknowledged by Romelia because he likes her romantically. It must hurt seeing Al being praised for being put into dangerous situations so he does the same thing with disastrous results. Also Romelia probably made Ray her bodyguard specifically so that he would not have to kill monsters which is another layer.
Anyway Serbeck is a pos, I could believe he leaked Romelia‘s unit location to the demons but that just paranoid thinking

魔法の適性があるキャラがもっといてほしかったけど、『魔法は珍しい力で、適性のある人はわずか』という方向で行くなら、20人中2人は、ロメリアが予想してた結果（適性があるのは1人だけか、誰もいない）よりはいい

Ray must be thinking that he will slow the unit down if he keeps hesitating, as well as disappointing Romelia because he isn’t as capable as the rest of the soldiers, not realizing that recklessly charging in is just as bad
I would have liked to see more characters having aptitude for magic too but if the story is going for the “Magic is a rare ability and the amount of people with the aptitude for it are few” approach then 2 out of 20 is a better outcome than what Romelia was expecting (only a single soldier having magic aptitude or none of them having it)

This is the anime of the season for me, pretty handily. Every week has been real solid.

それにしても、魔法のことを聞かれたときのロメリアの表情、むき出しの凄みだった。彼女のことは全部まだ推測だけど、あれが分かりやすい弱みの一つだというのは納得がいく。
上位の魔物相手に、ただの戦術がほとんど通じないのは本気でぞっとした。隊がそれで勢いに乗ってたのを見た後だから、なおさら

The amount of raw menace in Romelia's expression from being asked about magic though. Everything's still speculation when it comes to her but it makes sense for it to be one of her more blatant sore spots.
Genuinely unnerving how raw tactics barely work against a greater demon, especially after watching the squad's be on a roll because of it.

4度目の正直ってやつか。あの代官のかんしゃくはどんどん大きくなって、ついに自分の窓まで割った。今はロメリアが行方不明なのを、他人の不幸として喜んでいられる。とはいえ、その喜びはきっと長く続かない。彼女が試練を生き延びて、あいつの機嫌がもっと派手に落ちて、なぜか地位まで失うところをいつか見たい。
そうだな、アルが戦えなくなって、仲間の何人かが彼を守る役に回った。隊にとって、これが初めての本当の試練だった。どう切り抜けるのか楽しみだ。
ロメリアが最強のヒロインじゃなくて、強みが戦略と統率にあるところが大好き。魔法の適性が無いことを堂々と見せたのに、部下の忠誠は揺らがない

Fourth time's the charm for Sherbeck, I guess. His tantrums grew larger and larger until he broke his own window. He could now revel in the schadenfreude of Romelia being MIA. Having said that, his joy would certainly be short-lived. I hope we get to eventually see his mood crashing down even harder when she survived the ordeal, and somehow he lost his position.
Yeah, this had been her unit's first real challenge with Al out of commission and a couple of his colleagues tasked with shielding him. Looking forward to seeing how they'd get out of this.
Love how Romelia's not some OP heroine and that her strength lied in her strategy and leadership. She openly demonstrated that she's got no magic affinity, yet her men's loyalty remain unwavering.

あいつから見れば、ロメリアは恥をかいて王都を出てきた人だ。それが、自分が放っておいた問題を直しに来た。しかも女性だ。あの時代なら、高位の貴族でも『女がここで何を直す気だ』となる。あいつの本音は『いっそ死んでくれれば、自分が無能に見えずに済む』だろうな

Romelia is someone who in his eyes left the royal capital in disgrace. Decided to fix the issues that he has been ignoring.
Worst still is that she’s a woman. Back in that time even if she is a high noble, how dare a woman come here and fix stuff.
Best I can hope for is her death so that I don’t look incompetent

毎週いちばん楽しみな作品。隊が毎週何をするのか、本当に楽しみにしてる。レイには立ち直りの話を用意してるんだろうけど、今のところ、ここ最近でいちばんイライラするキャラの一人だ

This is my most expected show each week. I really enjoy what they will be up to each week.
I guess they are trying to setup some redeeming arc for Ray but he is one of the most annoying characters in a while at the moment.

たぶん、退却しなきゃいけない非常時のためだと思う。戦術を大事にする作品だし、それを見せる場面が来たのはうれしい。

More than likely it is in the case of emergencies where they need to retreat. Considering how this show emphasizes tactics I like we get to a scenario where it could showcase this.

Retreating isn't an option for the soldiers without a horse, those deamon soliders most likely can outrun them on foot.

たぶん魔物の兵1体のための備えだったんじゃないかな。あんなに出てきて驚いてたし。今の作戦は、退却してすぐ対策を練ることだと思う。

Probably for just one demon soldier, she was surprised when more of them showed up after all, I can only assume the current plan will be retreating and think on a viable strategy to deal with them asap

正直、退却がたぶん一番いい手だ。熊を倒しに来たのであって、魔王軍の部隊じゃない。任務が全然違うし、そこまでの備えがあったとは思えない。

tbh retreating is probably easily the best thing they can do.
They were out to take out a bear not units from the Demon Lord's army. That's a huge difference in task. I can't imagine they were anywhere prepared for that level.

ウォーハンマー・ファンタジーのファンとして言うと、帝国の普通の兵がサウルスと戦わされると、こうなる。ロメリアに魔物を振り切る策があるといいな。それにしても、引きで終わるのは反則だ。

As a Warhammer fantasy fan. This is what you get than regular empire state troopers have to fight Saurus.
But I do hope Romelia had a plan to get the demons of them. Still, ending the episode on cliffhanger was criminal.

Man I'm really hating Ray. He's hot headed, weak, a simp, and doesn't listen. He's going to get more people hurt if he doesn't shape up.

まあ、レイの話の流れからして、この展開はみんな読めてたと思う。
それでも、すごく効いた。
名前を忘れたあのいけ好かない領主の場面に何度も切り替えるのは分かるけど、いい知らせのたびに物を壊してたら、周りが嘘に気づかないわけがない。
ギャグとしては成立してる、かな。でも、いずれ来そうな『部下が言うことを聞かなくなる』話の伏線として、また出てきてほしい

Well, I think we could all see this turn of events coming as far as the Ray plot has been going.
Still very effective.
I understand why they keep flipping to the asshat ruler whose title I forget, but their is no way other people don't know he is lying if he is destroying things every time he gets good news.
Works as a gag, I guess. But hopefully it comes back as a plot point for the probable disobedient subjects arc I think will happen in the future.

アルは最初の任務からずっと死亡フラグを立て続けてるけど、ロメリアが状況を握ってるうちは生き残りそうだ。生き残ってほしい。アルが死ぬんじゃなくて、レイが自信の無さを乗り越えるところを見たい。
うーん、魔王軍の兵が来るまでは、ロメリアの隊はほとんどのことを制御できてたみたいだ。代官があいつらと通じてる、なんてことは無いよな？
どうやってこの戦いを生き延びるんだろう。助けも来ないのに

Al kept on flashing all those death flags ever since their first mission, but looks like he’ll survive if Romelia still has the situation in control. I do hope he survives though, I’d rather see Ray overcome his insecurities without him dying.
Hmm seems like Romelia’s squad had most things within control until the demon soldiers arrived. I don’t think the administrator is colluding with them, right?
I wonder how they’ll survive this battle, especially without any help coming their way.

You're the second person talking about Al flagging his death and I really hope you're wrong cuz Al is likeable and if he's gone we get more Ray 😭

戦術と陣形、一人ひとりに役割があって、特に槍を使うのが本当に好き。戦争アニメの多くは、敵に突っ込んで死ぬまで剣で殴るだけ。これだとロメリアが本物の有能な指揮官に見える。戦いのあとの、死骸の始末や壊れた設備の再建、被災した人の支援まで描くのもいい。兵の暮らしは戦うだけじゃない

I really really like the focus on tactics and formations, everyone having their own role in combat and especially the usage of spears. So many war anime are just rushing the enemy and hitting them with swords until they die. But this way Romelia feels like an actual genuine competent commander commanding her forces. And I also really appreciate showing the stuff that comes after the battle. A soldiers life is more than fighting, disposing of the corpses of the dead, helping rebuild damaged infrastructure and providing aid and relief to the stricken civilians are part of the job too

上位の魔物はトカゲっぽいから、ロメリアには対トカゲの技を使ってほしい。生きたコオロギで釣って、保温ランプでなだめるとか。いや、力になりたいだけなんだ。槍は効かなかったし、発想を変える時だ。

The greater demons appear to be lizards, so I hope Romelia starts employing anti-lizard techniques, such as baiting them with live crickets, and calming them down with heat lamps.
Look, I'm just trying to help. Spears didn't do squat, it's time to think outside the box.

逆翼（？）の陣形もそうだったし、何より、彼女の指揮のもとで兵たちが（隊長格を除いて）規律正しく、素早く反応できるようになってたのがいい。相手が何か分かった最初の瞬間は恐れてためらってたけど、ロメリアが号令をかけるとすぐに動いた。
それと、Yuna Nemoto さん（https://myanimelist.net/people/55048/Yuna_Nemoto）の戦場での号令の演技に拍手を。キャラにぴったりだと思う。正確で、ちょうどいい重みと感情が乗ってるのに、抑えも効いていて、命令を信頼できる

This battle formation was really satisfying to see.
As was the inverted wing(?) formation too, and especially how disciplined and fast to react her troops (minus their officers) have become under her leadership. They had that moment of fear and hesitation at the start when they realized what they were up against, but snap to it when Romelia barks her orders.
Actually, props to https://myanimelist.net/people/55048/Yuna_Nemoto for her battle command delivery, it feels note perfect for the character. So precise, and weighted with the right amount of import and emotion, but also controlled in a way that you can trust the orders.

Oh boy, I can’t wait to see Administrator Shitbag’s face when he finds out Romelia’s safe. I’m sure she’ll be fine. It’s the unit I’m worried about. Those greater demons aren’t like the other demons they’re encountered. These are trained soldiers in the demon lord’s army. The unit might encounter some casualties…

ロメリアが部下に魔法の適性があるか確かめたがったときは、本当にワクワクした。そろそろユニットを上級職にする頃合いだ！ アルとレイに魔法を使える素質があるのはいいけど、隊のほかの誰かだったらよかったのにとも思う。
ちくしょう、レイ！ 死ぬぞ！ ロメリアに役に立つところを見せたくて必死すぎて、みんなの命を危険にさらしてる！ ロメリアがすぐにレイの軽はずみを叱ってくれてよかった。
アルとレイ以外のキャラにも、ようやくスポットが当たり始めたのがいい。特に双子の連携は本当に見事だし、オットーは壁役として完全に化け物だ。カイルは槍より弓を持った斥候の方が向いてそう。
つまり、アルとレイの両方に魔法の適性があっても、実際に魔法を覚えるには金と時間がかかるし、今はどちらも全然足りない。くそっ。ロメリアはもっと勝ちを重ねて名を上げるしかないのかも。そうすれば魔法使いが隊に入って、アルとレイに教えてくれるかもしれない。
ロメリアの隊が総出でも上位の魔物1体に苦戦してるのを見ると、魔王軍がどれだけ強いか分かる。王が辺境の守りにこれ以上兵を回せないのも無理はない。前線にありったけの兵が要るんだ。
陣形を組んでるロメリアと仲間たちを見るのが大好きなのは、俺だけじゃないよな？ なんだか、すごくかっこいいんだ。
なにやってんだよ、レイ！？ 自分の馬を死なせただけじゃなく、お前をかばおうとしたアルまでけがをさせたんだぞ！ 爆発する石を使うために魔物をおびき寄せたあの賭けで、ロメリアの加護が効いてたらいいな。ロメリアが生き延びたと知ったときのセルベクの顔が早く見たい

I got really excited when Romelia wanted to check if any of her men had magic aptitude. It's about time to upgrade some units! While I do like that Al and Ray have the capacity to use magic, I was hoping it would be someone else in the group.
Godfuckingdammit, Ray! You're gonna get yourself killed! He's so desperate to show Romelia that he's useful that he's putting lives in danger! I am glad that Romelia immediately reprimanded Ray for his rash actions.
It's cool to see other characters besides Al and Ray are finally getting some attention. The Twins especially have been really great with their teamwork, Otto is an absolute beast of a tank, and I feel like Kyle would be better as a scout unit with a bow instead of a spear.
So it turns out, even if Al and Ray both have magic aptitude, actually learning magic takes money and time, both of which they really don't have right now. S**t. Seems like Romelia might just need to win more battles and get some notoriety; maybe they can get a mage to join their unit to teach Al and Ray.
The fact that Romelia's entire unit is struggling against a single greater demon shows how powerful the demon lord's army is. No wonder the King can't spare any more units to guard the hinterlands. They need everyone they can on the front lines.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who absolutely loves seeing Romelia and the boys when they're in formation? Something about it is just so cool to me.
WHAT THE F**K, RAY?! Not only did you get your horse killed, but you also got Al injured from trying to protect your ass! I'm really hoping Romelia's Grace kicked in with that gamble when she tried to lure the demons in to use bombs. I can't wait to see Serbeck's face when he eventually learns that Romelia survived.

少人数の部隊戦術に焦点を当ててるのが大好き。自分が見てきたアニメでは、あまり見かけないものだと思う。問題の規模や、前回始まった魔王軍の侵攻を考えると、ロメリアたちが備えの無い相手にいつか出くわすのは、残念だけど避けられなかったんだろう。
ロメリアには魔物の言葉が分かって、兵たちには分からなかったという細かい描写が面白い。たぶん、その方が兵たちのためだ。
アルかレイの魔法が、追い詰められた拍子に目覚めて、この窮地を切り抜ける展開になるのかな。もしそうなら、どちらかと言えばアル……いやレイだといいな、そろそろ勝ちが必要だし。でも、あれだけ無茶をしてきたから、今は勝ちに値するのか分からない

I love the focus on small military group tactics, it's not something I feel like I've seen much in the anime I've watched. Unfortunately for Romelia and her guys it was probably inevitable that they'd eventually run into something that they were not prepared for given the scale of the problem and the demon army invasion we saw start last episode.
Interesting detail of Romelia understanding what the demons were saying but her troops couldn't, probably for the better.
I wonder if this will be the sort of thing where Al or Ray's magic wakes up from the stress of the moment and helps him deal with the current problem. If so I somewhat hope it's Al Ray since he kind of needs a win, but he's also been so reckless I'm not sure he deserves one at the moment.

Think you meant Ray. Al's been pulling more than his own weight. He's been covering for Ray. Ray's the one that keeps throwing himself into dangerous situations because he thinks he'll suddenly do something badass.

That's the way it often goes... and as a result of the way this show engages with but finds its own path with the tropes, I give it a 50-50 that we're not going to see any magical awakening lol

体感5分で終わっちゃう回はこれだから困る。ロメリアの隊はずいぶん成長して、動きは速いし、命令にもきっちり従う。レイは焦りすぎで、自分を証明しようと必死で、その結果アルが重傷を負った。魔法が簡単に手に入らず、まだ使えないところはいい。陣形も訓練も良かったのに、勝てない敵に出くわした。
それと、あのクソ領主は何なんだ？ ロメリアが勝ちを重ねると怒って、失敗したら喜んでる。自分は何もしてないのに、彼女が有能だと証明したのが妬ましいのか？

Damn these five minute episodes. Romelia's unit has made a lot of progress and they move fast and follow orders neatly. Ray is too hasty and is desperate to prove himself, which resulted in Al's serious injury. I appreciate that magic isn't easy to acquire and they can't make use of that yet. Despite the good formations and training, they found an enemy they couldn't beat.
Also, what's that s****y lord's dead? He's angry Romelia was stacking up wins and is now happy she failed. Maybe jealousy she's proven competent while he does nothing?

あの笑顔、あの笑顔だよ。彼女は分かってる。
軍がインフラを修理する様子を描いてたのがよかった。実際、古代ローマの軍団兵の頃からよくあったことだ。たいていは橋や砦が中心だったけど、あの町には防壁も橋もあったから、ぴったりだと思う。
陣形は見ていてかなり気持ちよかった。でも、犠牲を出さずに済むとは思えない。ロメリアの馬が驚いて逃げたって話も出てたし。
もう一度言うけど、心の声がほとんど無いのが、作品の格をすごく上げてる。上位の魔物がどれだけ強いのかを自分で判断するしかないから、ほかの魔物が出てきたとき本気で脅威を感じた。急に、ロメリアがあの敵に勝てるのか自信が無くなった。
手堅い回だった

That smile that damn smile. She knows what's up.
I liked how they showed the Army repairing infrastructure, it's actually something that is quite common as far back as Roman legionaries. Usually it was more faced towards bridges and forts, but seeing as that town had fortifications and bridges it seems fitting.
Those battle formations were pretty satisfying to look at. However I don't think they'll get away without any casualties, especially considering they mentioned that Romelia's horse fled in a panic.
I'll have to say it again, the lack of any inner monologues ups the game so much. We are left to judge by ourselves how strong those greater demons are, so much so that when those other ones showed up I legit felt the threat. I suddenly lost confidence in Romelia's ability to defeat those enemies.
Solid episode.

楽しい回だった。特に、ロメリアと隊の活躍に対するセルベクの反応のおかげで（笑）……
少なくとも、最後までは。ロメリアの隊が魔王軍の兵士に出くわして、隊が消えたという報告に場面が切り替わるまではね。
くそ、あの知らせを聞いてセルベクが大喜びしたときは本当に腹が立った。でもそのぶん、ロメリアと隊が生き延びて（ひょっとしたらあの魔物の兵を全部倒して）いたと知ったときの反応が、ずっと楽しみになる。

It was a fun episode, especially thanks to Sebreck's reactions to Romelia and her unit's successes, lol...
Or at least it was until the end, when Romelia's unit encountered Demon King's army soldiers, and we cut to the report about their disappearance.
Damn, I was so annoyed when Sebreck got so happy upon hearing that news, but that will only make his reaction when he discovers that Romelia and her unit survived (and maybe even defeated all those demon soldiers) much better.
