"That goblin" is a threat only if humans act with treachery towards his village. Since such human behavior (in the real world) seems to be endemic, I guess these fictional humans might be a problem (and HAVE a problem) too.

うわ、エンディング後のカレンの場面には（アキラともども）不意を突かれたよ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)　カレンは今この場でアキラを消してしまおうと決めたのかな？
全体としては、この回は気に入った。アキラは自分とゴブリンたちが人間の脅威にならないよう懸命に努めているのに、シモンとカレンはそれでも彼を脅威と見ている。この暗めで現実的な描き方が、すごく好みだ。
それと、ドレス姿のクロエがすごくかわいかった！ シモンもやっぱり好きだな。表向きは気さくでいかした兄貴分なのに、実のところは抜け目がなくて賢い貴族なんだ。

Damn, that after-credits scene with Karen sure caught me (and Akira) by surprise ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Is Karen deciding to try and eliminate Akira right then and there?
Overall, I liked this episode, especially with how much Akira is trying to make himself and the other goblins a non-threat to humans, and yet Simon and Karen still consider him to be a threat. This quite dark and realistic approach appeals to me very much.
Also, Chloe looked so cute in those dresses! And I still really like Simon, he's such an easygoing and cool bro on the outside, but in truth, he's a crafty and wise noble.

村長の落ち着いた対応も、辺境伯の懸念も、どちらも尊重できる。こういう作品で筋の通った見立てが出てくることはそう多くない。たいていは、誰が正しくて誰が間違っているかが白黒はっきりしているからね。
10点満点とまではいかないかもしれないけど、今期の異世界量産枠をもう1本楽しむぶんには、十分に面白い設定だよ。

I respect both the measured response of the Mayor and the concern from the Margrave, not too often do you get a reasonable assessment from a series like this. It's usually black/white on who is right and wrong.
Might not be a 10/10 but it's a fun enough premise to enjoy a little more isekai slopfest seasonal.

Not sure what Karen is trying to do there at the end. Is this some sort of tactic to catch Akira off guard? Considering his reaction, it definitely worked.

Given her earlier concerns, there's a chance she thinks this is the only way to get him distracted enough to use Goblin Slayer effectively. Then again, it didn't look like she had a scabbard on her.

人間はひどさの最短記録でも狙っているのか。ゴブリンは寿命が短くて戦争をする暇も無いからか、すっかり平和に見えるのに、あの特別なゴブリンがいなくても、人間は見かけただけで襲ってくる。言葉を話し、物を建て、文化を持ち、1週間しか生きず、離れて暮らしてこちらに関心も無い相手をわざわざ狩りに行くなんて、ただの加虐趣味だよ。

So when does Hanzo pull out the rasengan?
The humans really are speedrunning how to be terrible. The goblins appear perfectly peaceful, probably because of there short lives they don't have time for war, and yet even without the special goblin the humans just attack on sight. Now we are seeing people going out of their way to attack goblins, hunting something that is sentient to the point of speech, construction and culture, lives for a week, lives away from you and has no interest in you is just sadistic.

Me, agreeing with Akira, because I wanted to see more of Karen in that cute dress and her displeased expression. Lol!
Little did we expect Karen to remove her armour with the possible intention of assassinating Akira at the end of the episode.

Goblins could become a huge threat if they ever discover how to live past a week and shake off their party-loving nature.
I don't want them getting rid of the latter, though. Goblins being peaceful party lovers instead of a murderous horde of pillagers is pretty fun and refreshing.

Akira mentions he's already been through 500 goblin funerals. Curious if at some point a goblin who has a skill to share their skills with others is born, and Akira acquires that skill and decides to really flip the chessboard and pass octogenarian to all future generations of goblins. Then the humans might have reason to get worried.

アキラはどうやっても報われないな。正攻法で人間の心をつかもうとしているのに、その頭の良さのせいで、付き合いのある人間たちは彼の潜在的な危険をますます警戒してしまう。
それはそれとして、他人と重なったスキルを進化させる力は本当にかっこいい。

Akira just can't win. He's taking the high road and trying to win over humans, but all that intellect is only making his human associates more wary of his potential danger.
But I will say the way his ability to evolve the duplicate skills of others is very cool.

人間がアキラを宇宙規模の脅威と見始めているのに、本人はシムシティ気分で楽しんでいるだけ、というのが面白い。こういう二面性は大好きだ。

回の最後のカレンは、どう見てもアキラに『氷の微笑』を仕掛けようとしてるんだと思うけど、どう転ぶかは見てみよう。彼女が魔王のスキルで支配下に置かれる、なんて結末にならないといいな。二人の関係が台無しになってしまうから。もっとも、暗殺未遂でも台無しになるかもしれないけど。どっちにしても、少なくとも仕掛けてくるときの彼女はかなりセクシーだ。
このスキルの融合は、アキラが人間にとって大きな脅威になるか大きな味方になるかを決める、最後のピースに思える。どちらになるかは人間の出方しだいだ。ゴブリンの村と固い友好を結んで、信頼できる相手のスキルをときどき格上げしてもらう取り決めを想像してみてよ。ゴブリンは世代の入れ替わりが速いから、誰かのスキルを格上げするのに合うスキルを探すなら、回転はかなり速いはずだ。

I feel like its obvious that Karen is trying to Basic Instinct Akira right at the end of the episode, but we'll see how it plays out. Hopefully it won't end with her under the control of the Demon Lord skill as that'll kind of ruin their dynamic. Then again an assassination attempt maybe does too. Either way at least she's pretty hot while making the attempt.
That's skill merging business feels like the last remaining piece for Akira being either a great threat or a great ally to the humans depending on how they play it. Imagine making solid ties of friendship to his goblin tribe with an agreement that involves him occasionally upgrading the skills of people that are friendly and trustworthy. The quick goblin life cycle would make for pretty rapid turnover if you're looking for compatible skills to give somebody an upgrade.

いつまでも何もしないでいたら、いずれゴブリンは世界を乗っ取れるほど強くなって、今度は自分たちが奴隷にされる側だ。なにしろ彼は、魔王のスキルをそのまま受け継いでいるんだから。あの魔王は、人間にとって明らかにかなり大きな脅威だったんだよ。

I mean you're clearly ignoring that from the human's POV goblins are monsters and you still don't know their true intentions. It's like letting a pest grow to the point it becomes unmanageable. The margrave is being pretty reasonable all things considered, he's genuinely open to friendly relationships but ready to end it as soon as it becomes a threat.
If you never do anything at a certain point the goblins can be strong enough to take over the world, and now you're the ones enslaved, the guy literally inherited the skill from the archfiend which was clearly a pretty big threat for humans.

自分が期待してワクワクしているのは、明らかに転スラの影響を受けていながら、主人公にChatGPTを持たせていないところ。おかげで主人公の問題解決が面白くなっている。

What I'm hopeful (and excited about) is while clearly inspired by TenSura, not giving the MC ChatGPT, makes the problem-solving ability of the MC interesting

MC is getting stronger every week, but the idea here is that she is there to catch him in the act if he turns "evil" and kill him before he can become too strong for them to handle.
that shortsword got be magical somehow and have extra damage versus goblins, otherwise it wouldn't be called "Goblin" slayer. It shouldnt just be a "knife".

This time around, goblins aren’t even the real threat.
Not at all. The goblins are a massive threat, and one that keeps growing. As a viewer, you see Akira as a honest guy, but the humans don't have that perspective. They see someone that seems nice enough but is also clearly well aware of his position. What will Akira do when the goblins have real power and aren't afraid of the humans?
Consider the cheating response. By remaining clam, Akira basically said the he knew he was wronged, but also knew that he wasn't in a position to benefit from doing anything about it. That's what has the Margrave on edge. He doesn't know much about Akira or his ambitions, but he does know Akira is more than capable of hiding those from him. Thus, it's only reasonable for the Margrave to be prepared for the worst.
