ギルは変わるのが分かってても嫌いなままだと思ってたけど、あんなに早く変わって、自分で働いて食っていこうとあれだけやる気になってるのを見ると、これからはいいことが起きてほしいって思っちゃうわ。

I was expecting to dislike Gil even after the inevitable change, but seeing how quick it was and how motivated he is to work for a living I can't help but want good things to happen to him from now on.

Also Myne made another recipe she didn't come up with herself and got lots of praise for it. That's great, isn't it?

Didn't you see how Myne so graciously provided her servants with food so they wouldn't starve? Isn't she such an angel? Truly we don't deserve this paragon of moral virtue.

Why can't they just stack up some bricks and mod, and make their own oven? How does this civilization survive when literally no one but Myne is smart enough to make anything?

ちゃんとしたオーブンはレンガと泥を積むよりちょっとだけ複雑なんだよ。それに人が密集した町でオーブン作りに失敗したらかなり危ない。近代以前の都市では火事があっという間に広がりがちだった。貴族の貧乏人への無関心ぶりからすると、魔法で町を大火から救ってくれるなんて期待できないし、後からベンノに損害の罰金を取るのは目に見えてる。

Good ovens are just a tad more complex than stacking up bricks and mud, and f*****g up an oven in a densely populated urban setting has the potential to be quite risky. Fires had a nasty tendency to spread quickly in pre-modern cities. Given the nobility's aloof attitude towards the poor, I don't think we can count on them using magic to save the city from inferno, but you know they'd fine Benno for damages after the fact.

No because there's never been a good orphanage in real life either. They existed to take unwanted children and put them into domestic servitude or coal mines or whatever. It was an exploitative institution and we should all be thankful it died out.

というわけで、側仕え3人とも手なずけ完了。
ひとりはまだ悪徳サンタのスパイだけど、少なくとももう積極的に邪魔はしてこないだろう。

And with that, 3/3 retainers have been tamed.
Though one of them is still a spy for evil santa, at least she won't actively work against her now.

デリアはちょっとあっさり手なずけられすぎた気がする。悪徳サンタがまた自分の手下に引き戻そうとして、デリアが良心の板挟みになる前振りっぽい。

Delia seemed like she was tamed a little too easily. Seems like a setup where Evil Santa is going to tempt her back into his service and she's going to have a crisis of conscience.

手なずけられただけで、忠誠を誓ったわけじゃない。悪徳サンタへの報告は続けるだろうけど、もう餌をくれる手には噛みつかない。まあスパイ行為は別としてね。ツンデレらしく仕事はこなすだろう。

She's tame, not loyal. She'll still report to evil santa, but now she won't bite the hand that feeds her. Well, other than the spying. She'll perform her duties like the tsundere she is.

マインはデリアを二重スパイにして、おいしい現代料理で心をつかんだあとで神殿長を探らせるんじゃないかな。これから神殿で身を守るにはかなり賢いやり方だと思う

I feel like myne is going to end up turning her into a double agent, and using her to spy on the high priest after winning her affection with her delicious modern foods. That’d be a pretty smart play to help keep herself safe in the church going forward

なんで空のピザ皿を不気味な音楽と妙な咀嚼音つきで意味深に映したんだ？ピザが何か問題を起こすなんてあり得ないよな？な？

Why is there a menacing shot of empty pizza plate accompanied by creepy music and bizarre munching sound? There's obviously no way pizza would cause any troubles, right? Right?

あの意味深なカットは次回への前振りだよ。
最後の一切れを誰かに食べられたと知ってマインが大激怒するんだ。

The menacing shot was a preamble for the next episode.
Main explodes into a rage when she finds out someone has taken the last slice.

現実でもそれで人が死んでるから冗談じゃ済まないぞ。でもマイン…（Myne？Myneって書く人とMainって書く人がいるけど、綴りで揉めてるの？）がそんなことでキレるとは思えないな。
逆に、大事な本をピザの皿代わりにされたのを見つけた日には…

People have died in the real world for doing just that so it's no joke. Still, I don't see Main ... (Myne? I see some people saying Myne and others saying Main. Is there some kind of debate on the spelling?) flying off the handle for something like that.

Now when she finds someone used one of her precious books as a plate for the pizza on the other hand...

ピザが発明された。マインはもうここでやめていい。グルメの頂点に達したんだから続ける意味がない。

Pizza has been invented. Main can stop now. No point in continuing after reaching the peak of gourmet food.

アイスクリームはまだ欲しいかな。

マインがオーブンを手に入れた！ははっ、一方ベンノは「今日まで『イタリアン』が何のことか知らなかったが、今は『金』って意味だ！」って感じ。
ギルとのことが片づいてよかった。デリアがマインの庇護下に入ったのもいいね。正直、マインはデリアの身に起こり得た中で最高の出来事のひとつだと思う。貴族に利用されたりひどい目に遭ったりせずに、尊厳とまともな暮らしが手に入るんだから。たぶん神殿長はその状況をひっくり返そうとしてくるだろうな。

Myne's got her oven! Haha Meanwhile Benno is like "I don't know what the hell 'Italian' meant before today, but now it means MONEY!"
I'm glad things got sorted out with Gil. It's also good to see Delia find herself under the wing of Myne. Legitimately, Myne is one of the best things that could've happened to her. Dignity & a good life without having to be used & abused by nobility. I expect we'll see the High Priest try and subvert that scenario.

マインがお金になるアイデアをポンポン出しすぎるのはちょっと危ない気がする。前の世界の知識を新しい世界に持ち込みすぎっていうか。
もう少し小出しにしたほうがいい。こんなすごい物を出す前に、せめて実験してるってことをベンノたちにほのめかしておくとかさ。

Kinda feel like its a bit dangerous that Main is just dropping these moneymaking ideas left and right, like its a bit too much knowledge of her old world being brought into the new world.
She needs to spread these ideas out more, maybe drop hints with Benno and others that she's at least doing experimenting before coming out with these amazing items.

完全に同意。ベンノは基本的に実利主義だし（しかもマインのアイデアで大儲けできる）、多少のことは見逃すかもしれないけど、神殿は真逆だからな。神殿長を見る限り、この先かなりの衝突がありそう。マインは両親とのもめごとのときにもう神殿長を攻撃してるしな。

I totally agree. Benno might overlook some things because in general he is pragmatic (plus has a lot to benefit from her ideas), but the Church is basically the opposite of that. If the High Priest is anything to go by, I'm sure there will be some serious conflict later on. Especially since Myne already attacked him in the altercation with her parents.

ラノベで泣かされた数少ない場面のひとつ。ここでは見せ方が少し違ったけど、それでもよかった。

This one of a handful of scenes that got me to tear up in the LN. The presentation was a little different here, but still good.

ひどくはなかったけど、あのキャラを理解するうえでの大事な場面だったと本気で思う。デリアが生まれて初めて服をもらったのと同じでさ。マインはあの子たちに自分の価値を与えてるんだ。今まで持ったことのないものを。お金儲けのアイデアと同じで、マイン自身は自分の役に立つだろうってぼんやり思ってるだけで、自分のしてることがどんな結果を生むのかほとんど分かってない。今後の回でこういう大事なキャラの場面を駆け足で流さないでほしい。

It wasn't horrible, but I really feel that it was a key moment for getting that character. Just like Delia getting clothes for the first time in her life. Maine is giving them self worth. Things they've never had. Just like with her money making ideas Maine is barely even aware of the consequences of what she's doing past the most peripheral notion that it'd be helpful to her. I'm hoping they don't continue to rush over key character moments like this in future episodes.

子どもの頃、イタリア系とアルバニア系の祖父母がよく手作りピザを焼いてくれたんだ。最高だったけど、分厚くて重いから、みんなナイフとフォークで食べてたｗ
だからマインが手作りピザをそうやって食べてても全然変じゃなかった。

When I was growing up, my grandparents, who were Italian and Albanian, used to make some homemade pizza. It was great, but it was so thick and heavy, that we'd all eat it with a knife and fork lol.
So it really wasn't weird at all for me to see Main do that with her own homemade pizza too.

ピザの種類によっては全然アリだよね。テレビで見たことがあるのは『スーパーナチュラル』でディーンが死神に会う場面くらいだけど。
死神にピザを出されたら、何が何でもそのピザは食っとけ。

It definitely makes sense for certain styles of pizza, the one time on TV I saw it done was when Dean meets Death in Supernatural.

When Death serves you a slice of pizza, you better god damn eat that slice of pizza.

最初、ベンノがそうしてて、マインが「やめなさい」って言うのかと思ったら…何してんのマイン？？？

神殿だけのことで、下町で食べるときは手づかみだといいな。

I hope it's just a cathedral thing and she palms it when eating it downtown.

やっと懲りたところで、ようやくギルに同情できるようになった。一方でデリアはどうでもいいし、個人的にはマインは甘すぎたと思う。マインを見張る役目なら仲良くするのが仕事だって分かってなかったのはちょっと意外だった。
まあ、これで孤児院にもピザが行くんだろうな。マインはもう部屋も持ってるんだし、非公式の孤児院長になっちゃえばいい。あのデブ神殿長がイラつくのは間違いないし、それはいいことだ。

I can say that now after he learned his lesson I finally sympathized with Gil. On the other hand, I honestly don't care much about Delia and in my opinion, Myne went too easy on her. Although I'm kind of surprised that she didn't know that when she had to spy Myne her job was to be friendly with her.
Well, I guess the orphanage is getting pizza now. Myne already has the office so she might as well become the unofficial orphanage director as I'm sure that will piss off that fat bastard, which is good.
Today's End Card

でもデリアもただの子どもなんだよ。家も友達もいない。デブ神殿長に追い出されたら、文字どおり目的のない空っぽの人生になっちゃう。マインならもっといい暮らしをさせてくれるさ。

Well, Delia is also just a kid. Without home, without friends. When fat priest kicked her out her life literally turned into hollow existence without purpose. Myne will give her a better life.

うん、Shuri Yasuyuki さんって出てた。原作の挿絵の人じゃないけど、ざっとググった感じ、この人はグラブルのサンダルフォンが大好きみたい。

Yeah, it said that it was made by Shuri Yasuyuki. It's not the LN artist but looking at results from my quick google search it seems that this artist really loves Sandalphon from Granblue Fantasy.

ディオがスーパーマリオっぽくしゃべろうとしてるところを想像しちゃったｗ

Now I'm imagining Dio trying to sound like Super Mario lol.

このシーンはほっこりした。ギルに必要だったのは褒めてもらうことと構ってもらうことだけだったんだな。乱暴だけど、ちゃんと扱ってもらえれば根はいい子なんだ。マインと一緒にご飯を食べられるところは尊すぎた。最後にはギルがルッツと仲良くなったのもよかった。
デリアがベンノの膝に座って、押しのけられるところはなぜか笑ったｗ ともかくデリアも、あんなことをしたのにマインが引き取ってくれて、ようやくマイン側についたみたい。まだ100％味方とは思えないけど、少なくとももう厄介者にはならないだろう。
それにしてもあの最後のカットは何なんだよ！？食べかけのピザでこんなに不穏なカットは初めて見た。フランが自分の分を食べなかった？誰かが1切れ盗んだ？このピザの謎のせいで1週間眠れなさそうだ！

I'm still not confident that she's 100% on Myne's side but at least she won't be a pain anymore.

[What the f**k is up with that final shot though!?](https://i.imgur.com/DzJbfia.png) I think that's the most ominous shout of an eaten pizza that I've ever seen. Did Fran not eat his slice? Did someone steal a slice? This pizza mystery is going to keep me up for the entire week!

I'm gonna agonize over that pizza slice till the next episode, goddammit.

あと、これって最近見たアニメ飯の中でもかなりしょぼい部類じゃない？アニメの食べ物っていつも最高に美味そうに描かれてるのに、これは…なんか微妙な見た目だった。

also this is probably some of the saddest animated food I've seen in a while, usually anime food stays top quality looking for reasons, but this was very...meh looking.

それでも伝説の『夜明け前より瑠璃色な』のキャベツには及ばない。

It still doesn't match the legendary Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro Na Cabbage.

マインが炊き出しとかパンの配給を始めそうな気がする。本人は最低限のつもりなんだけど、うっかり王国で一番うまいスープとパンになっちゃうっていう。これまでやってきたこと全部と同じで、どうなるかも知らずにさ。

I can see her opening some kind of soup kitchen or bread line. Her thinking being this is a bare minimum. But oops it's the best f*****g soup and bread in the kingdom. Kind of like everything else she has done not knowing of the consequences.

その2話後、トミーガンを大量生産しながら「ご飯を食べさせてあげたの覚えてる？恩を返すときが来たわ」って言ってるんだな

Two episodes later, she's making Tommy guns en masse and saying "Remember when I fed you? It's time to return the favour"

ヨーロッパの貴族制を倒したのは、印刷機と商人の莫大な新しい富と火薬の三点セットだった……毎巻、ベンノが金になるアイデアを出せと迫って、マインが「硝石と硝酸塩ってある？」って返す場面を待ってる。貴族はもう強力な魔法を持ってるから、火薬は飛ばしていきなりニトログリセリンが要るかもね 🙂

The aristocratic systems of europe were overthrown by the trifecta of the printing press, the incredible new wealth of merchants and gunpowder ... every novel, i keep waiting for a scene of Benno demanding money making ideas and Myne just going ... Do you have any saltpeter and nitrates ? Since the nobles already have powerful magic perhaps she would need to skip gunpowder and go straight to nitroglycerin 🙂

I'm so glad Bakarinaed is becoming a verb. I'm also so glad Saturdays are so god damn wholesome!

土曜日がほっこりしすぎてる？それなら『イエスタデイをうたって』がおすすめ。ちょっと気分を落ち着けてくれるはず。俺はめちゃくちゃ楽しんでる。ちょっと身につまされすぎるって言う人もいるけど。

Is your Saturday too wholesome? I recommend Sing “Yesterday” For Me. That should bring your mood down a bit. I’m enjoying the hell out of it. Some say it’s a little bit too relatable.

まだデリアは信用できないけど、孤児院がそれだけひどい所だから、あんなにあっさり寝返ったのかもな。

I still do not trust Deliah but maybe the orphanage is just that bad that she would switch sides so quick.

このアニメに駄回なんて来ない気がする。
今回も楽しかったし、ギルが改心してよかった。あの女の子のほうは変わるのにあと何話かかかりそうだけど、それでもみんな警戒は続けるだろうな。

I'm not sure this Anime will ever have a bad episode.
Another enjoyable episode and glad to see Gil has changed his ways. I predict the girl will probably take a few more episodes to change, however everyone will still be wary of her.

こんなにハマった作品はほんとに久しぶりだ。
まだ未完だった第一部のマンガを読み倒して、ラノベの英訳を全部一気読みして、読み終わったらアニメが放送中だと知ってそれも一気見して、そのあと第一部のマンガが完結したのも読んだ。
それからこの外出自粛の間にシリーズを読み返して、今はもう3回読んだ話のアニメを見てる。

I haven't been this obsessed with a series in the longest f*****g time.

Read the s**t out of the manga part 1 which was incomplete at the time, binged the entirety of the LN translation, suddenly learned an anime was airing when I finished and binged the s**t out of that, and then finished the part 1 of the manga when that came out.

Then I reread the series during the whole quarantine and now I'm watching an adaptation of a thing I've already read three times now.

フランってほんといい人だな。最初は疑ってたけど。
ぎこちなくて可愛い。フランはマインに貴族の決まりを教えて、マインはフランに下町の暮らしを教えるんだな。

Fran is such a nice guy. I was doubtful about him at the beginning.
Awkwardly adorable. He's teaching Myne about rules of nobles, and she will teach him about downtown life.

だからピザをナイフとフォークで食べてたのか。

This is explains why she ate pizza with a knife and fork.

ボルトは掃除が上手いんだな

デリアは灰色、マインは青色、それで終わり。身分の差はそれくらいはっきりしてる。

Delia is a grey robe, Myne is a blue robe, end of story. The standards are exactly that stark.

その「身分の差」のせいで孤児院がほんとに怖くなってきた

神官長は前回と今回の間にリンシャンを手に入れたな。今度は側仕えたちの番。髪につやが出るとキャラの見た目がこんなに変わるのすごい

Head Priest got his hands on some shampoo in between episodes. Now it’s time for the retainers. It’s crazy how different the characters look when their hair has a sheen

前回ベンノが寄付金を持ってきたとき、金貨5枚のほかに、半透明の緑の液体が入ったガラス瓶が3本あったんだよね。誰も瓶のことには触れなかったけど、今思えばリンシャンの贈り物だったんだろう。後で話に出てくるのかな。

Last episode, when Benno brought the donation, there were five gold coins, but also three glass bottles filled with translucent green liquid. Nobody mentioned the bottles, but in retrospect, it must have been a gift of shampoo. I wonder if it'll come up later.

マインが少しずつ世界を変えていく様子を見せる、うまくてさりげないやり方だよね

It's such a brilliant and subtle way of showing Myne slowly affecting the world

俺の気のせい？前回マインが倒れたのはご飯を食べてなかったからだって説明する場面、飛ばされてなかった？
あと、ギルが顔をボコボコにされなかったのも。

Is it me or did they skipped the portion where they explained that the reason why Main fainted the last episode is that she didn't eat?

Also that Gil didn't get his face bashed in.

かなり飛ばされてたよ。ベンノとマルクがマインを抱えながらベンノの婚約者の話をするところとか、トゥーリと服を買いに行くところとか。
あと、マインが倒れたのは食べてなかったからだけじゃなくて、魔力が「満タン」のときと同じ感覚で抑え込み続けてたからでもある。

They skipped a lot of stuff. Benno and Mark talkingabout Bennos fiance while holding Myne. Going clothes shopping with Tuuli.

Also: Myne didnt just faint because of not eating, but also because she was still supressing her mana as if she was "full"

俺は、身食いは魔力を作るのにすごく体力を使うからだと思ってた。普段は魔力が満杯だからそこまで体力を食わないけど、魔力を抜いたせいで暴走して体力を全部持っていかれた、みたいな。

I thought it was more that the devouring consumes a lot energy to produce mana. Normally she's full to the brim with mana so it doesn't consume as much energy but because she drained it, it went rampant consuming all her energy.

今回もすごく速いペースで、いくつかの場面が削られてた。代わりに、他の場所で何が起きてるかを見せるアニオリの短い場面が足されてたけど。
「まあアリ」な変更もあれば、単に変なのもあった。いくつか思ったこと：
- ルッツはギルに一発くらいはいいのを入れるべきだった。
- ギルへの償いの話を神官長の部屋でやるのは意味不明。それなら神官長からもっと反応があったはず。
- 食事へのフランの反応が変わってた。原作では、貴族の食事の残りに慣れてるから、下町の料理はおいしくないって言ってた。
- 料理人たちにとってマインは近寄りがたい貴族で、フランが段取りの多くを仕切ってるところは見せてほしかった。
- デリアの件の「何か忘れてない？」の場面を引きにしてほしかったな。
- 予告でデリアが服をもらうところが映ってたから、たぶんちゃんとは描かれないんだろう。デリアにとっては大事な場面なのに。

They went again with a very fast pace and cut out several scenes, but added some short anime only ones to show whats going on elsewhere.

Some changes were "okay" others were just weird, my thoughts on some:
- Lutz should have given Gil atleas one good hit.
- Putting the talk about Gils compensation inside the Head Priests office made no sense since this would have resulted in more feedback from the priest.
- Changed Frans reaction to the food: in the LN he said that the downtown food was not good, since he is used to the leftovers of noble food.
- They should have shown that to the cooks Myne is an untouchable noble and that Fran is doing a lot of the managing work.
- I realy would have liked to see the "did we forget something?" scene about Delia as a cliffhanger.
- Since the "preview" showed Delia getting her clothes we probably wont see that fully animated, which would have been a major scene for Delias character.

変更点はだいたい許容範囲だった（フランの反応を変えたのは変だし不要だと思ったけど、大した部分じゃない）。ただ、マインと料理人のやりとりだけは別。あれは平民の暮らしと貴族の暮らしの差を見せるすごく大事な場面で、言外に世界観を伝える大きな部分なのに、アニメはそれを取りこぼしてる。
アニメだけの人向けに書くと、原作では料理人たちが来たとき、指示は全部フランが出すんだ。フランは事前にマインからその日の献立の作り方を全部聞いて、丸ごと覚えてる。料理人たちは貴族に会うのが初めてで、マインの前では見るからに体がこわばっていて、礼儀にものすごく気をつけてる。マインはあらかじめ「しゃべらずにフランに全部任せるように」と言われてる。
でもそこはマインなので、料理人たちが手際よく働いていて、見たことのないレシピでもちゃんと分かってるのを見て、本人としてはすごく貴族らしいつもりの言い方で褒めるんだ。たしか「ベンノ、最初はあなたが連れてくる料理人が心配だったけれど、この二人なら何の問題もなさそうね」みたいな言い回しだった。二人ともマインがしゃべった瞬間に恐怖で固まって、殺されるんじゃないかってくらい微動だにしない。ベンノがすぐになだめて「安心しろ、今のは褒められたんだ」って言うと、二人はおそるおそる何度もマインにお礼を言って仕事に戻るんだけど、貴族に話しかけられてまだちょっと動揺してる。
貴族と平民の溝を見せる大きな場面なんだよ。平民は貴族の前で常におびえていて、別の生き物みたいに扱っていて、貴族の言うことには自分たちには分からない婉曲表現や嫌味が詰まってると信じ込んでる。それに、何にでも意見やアイデアを言いたがるマインにとって、繰り返しのフラストレーションの種でもある。貴族が人前で平民に話しかけるのはどうやらかなりのタブーらしいから（貴族側がというより、平民のほうが毎回「殺される」と思い込んでるせいでね）。

I was ok with most of the changes they made (changing Frans reaction seemed weird and unnecessary, but it's far from a major detail) except for the interaction between Myne and the cooks. I think that one is a really big one for showing the difference between commoner life and noble life, and it's a massive bit of implied worldbuilding that the anime misses as a result.

For Anime-onlies reading this, when the cooks come in in the LN they are instructed purely by Fran, who had already been told by Myne, and memorized in their entirety, all the instructions needed to prepare the food that Myne had planned for the day. The cooks visibly tense up in Myne's presence, having never met a noble before and being really careful about their manners, and Myne is instructed ahead of time not to speak and to let Fran handle everything.

It being Myne, though, she sees how efficiently the cooks are working and how well they know their stuff even in the face of strange new recipes, and compliments them in what she thinks is a very noble-like fashion. I believe her wording is something like "Why Benno, at first I was worried about the cooks that you would bring me, but it seems like we will have no problems at all if it's these two." Both of them immediately freeze in fear at the sound of Myne talking, not moving a muscle as if they're scared they're going to be killed. Benno immediately tries to calm them, and tells them "Be at ease, you've just been complimented" and both of them nervously thank Myne profusely and get back to work, still a bit shaken up by a noble talking to them.

It's a huge moment to show the gap between nobles and commoners: how commoners are constantly afraid in nobles' presence, how they seem to treat them as alien beings, and how they're sure that every word a noble says is riddled wih euphemisms and passive-aggressiveness that they don't understand. It's also a repeating point of frustration for Myne, who is usually so eager to share her opinions and ideas on everything, since a noble speaking in public to commoners is apparently quite taboo (less so for the nobles, and more so because the commoners seem consistently sure they're going to die).

あのラストは謎めいた不吉な感じを狙ってたんだろうけど、100％どっかのかわいそうなやつがピザをつまんでるだけだろ。で、そのうまさに気づいて、なんだかんだマインと一緒に働くことになるんだよ

That ending was probably supposed to be mysterious and foreboding, but 100% thats just some poor dude snacking on some za, probably gonna realize how amazing it is, and work with mine somehow

あの1切れこそ「神の恵み」とか何とか呼ばれてるやつだな。残り物の残り物

今週で、アニメが英語のファン翻訳版の第二部マンガを追い越した。今回でアニメは第7話まで消化したけど、ファン翻訳はまだ第4話。とはいえ日本語の第二部マンガを追い越すまでには、たぶんあと4週くらいかかる。
あと、月曜に第二部3巻の英語版電子書籍が出るのでお忘れなく。

This week is the week where the anime has overtaken the English fan-scanlated Part 2 manga. This episode the anime finished chapter 7 while the scanlations are at chapter 4, however we still probably have 4 more weeks until it surpasses the raw Part 2 manga.

第二部3巻が待ちきれない！この1週間で最新の5巻分を読み終えちゃった。

I can hardly wait for 2-3 of the LN! I literally finished reading the last five volumes over this past week.

話し合いの最中にマインが倒れて、そのあと大騒ぎになるところを飛ばされたりざっと流されたりしたのはすごく残念。原作ではあの場面で、婚約者を亡くしたことがはっきりトラウマになってるベンノの新しい一面が見えたのに。残念だけど、このアニメはこの先もベンノを脇に追いやって、出番を短くするつもりなんだろうな。

Very disappointing to me that they skipped/glossed over Myne's collapse during the meeting and the ensuing panic after that. Those scenes revealed an entire new side to Benno's character in the novels with his clear PTSD over his fiance's death. I feel that this unfortunately means that this adaptation intends to continue sidelining Benno and most of his future scenes will be short.

ルッツとギルがいつかぶつかるだろうとは思ってたけど、こんなに早いとは思わなかった。まあでも、ちゃんと話はついたみたいだし、たぶん親友への道を歩んでる。何にせよ、側仕えを味方につけるのは3人中2人まで来たな。パウンドケーキも要らなかった。あと、目が×になるデフォルメのマインはいいGIFになりそう。
予想どおり、知らずにギルの食事を奪っていたと知ったマインは、当然ながらかなり落ち込んでた。でももちろん、それを正しつつギルに大事なことを教える道を選んだ。
マインのイタリアンレストランは、笑いの種として尽きることがない。「ビバ・ピザ」、全力でアーメンだ。中世っぽい世界で「ちゃんとした作法」が要るんだろうから、ナイフとフォークでピザを食べてるのは見逃してやる。
デリア、神殿長が怒ったのは、お前が間者の仕事をちゃんとやってなかったからだよ。神官長がマインにあの部屋を与えたとき、どこにいた？いなかったんだろ！だから神殿長に追い出されたのは自業自得。
でもそれより、ギルと同じく、デリアが急に寝返ったのは完全には信じてない。今は崖っぷちで、生き延びるためならマインの言うことを聞くんだろうけど、この先、マインにつき続けるか、神殿長が自分の都合でまた声をかけてきたら条件のいいほうに売るか、っていう葛藤が来そうな気がする。まあ、どうなるか様子を見よう。ただ今のところは、少なくともその葛藤のときにどうするか分かるまで、マインはデリアの手綱をしっかり握っておくのが賢明だな。

You kinda figured that Lutz and Gil were gonna come to blows at some point but I didn't figure that it would be this soon. But whatever they seem to have worked things out and are probably on their way to being bros. In any case that makes 2 down 1 to go as far as winning her retainers over goes. Didn't even need pound cake to do it. Also that cartoony Myne bit with the X's would make for a good gif.

Just like we figured, once Myne learned about the fact that she unintentionally denied Gil food she felt understandably pretty bad about it. But of course she chose a course of action that would help set that right and teach Gil a valuable lesson.

Myne's Italian restaurant, the gift that keeps on giving for humor. "Viva Pizza", I'll give a resounding amen to that. But given the medieval setting and need for "proper decorum" I'm just gonna let the fact that they're eating pizza with fork and knife go.

The High Priest got mad at you Delia because you weren't doing your job as a spy properly. When the Head Priest assigned Myne those quarters where were you? Not around, thats where! So any ousting she had with the High Priest is her fault.

But more importantly like Gil I'm not entirely buying Delia suddenly turning coat. Oh I have no doubt that she's in deep right now and that she'll do what is necessary to survive if it means doing what she's told by Myne but I could easily see her having a moral conundrum in the future where she could either stick with Myne or sell her out for a better deal if the High Priest self servingly appeals to her again. But let's wait and see how this plays out. But for now Myne would be wise to keep Delia on a short leash, at least until we see what she does when she reaches that aforementioned conundrum.

This was my favorite part of the episode; I don't have a clear reason why I want them to be friends, but I definitely do.

魔術具を使う代わりに、マインが抑えを外して木でも威圧して、余った魔力を出すって手は無いの？説明あったっけ？

Was there ever an explanation to why it isn't an option for Myne to let her control run wild and use crush some trees to remove her excess mana instead of using a magic item?

直接の説明は無いと思うけど、威圧を使っても魔力を「消費」してるわけじゃなくて、体の中で暴れてるだけなんだよ。続けてたら文字どおり破裂しちゃう。

I don’t think it’s directly explained, but she is not ‘expending’ mana when she uses the Crushing, it’s just rampaging inside her body. If she kept it up she’d kinda literally explode.

描かれ方からすると、魔力を使っても実際には減らなくて、魔術具のほうは魔力を吸い出してるって感じだね。

From the way it's presented, using her magic doesn't actually deplete it, while the magic items are absorbing the magic out of her.

神殿と下町が交わるのがすごく楽しかった。お互いのことを知っていくのが大好き！
あと、あのラストは何！？めちゃくちゃ不穏だった…

I really enjoyed the church and downtown crossing over, love both sides learning about each other!

Also what was with that ending!? That was so ominous...

あの部屋を見たら家族がどう思うか楽しみ。

Can't wait to see what her family thinks when they see here office.
