This anime is so silly. As a gamer, I love it.

壊れてたり、バランスや設計がひどかったりするゲームに閉じ込められる話や、開発者が予想しない角度でゲームを壊す話のアニメが、もっと必要だ。乙女ゲームのパロディで、悪役令嬢もヒロインも結局学園にたどり着かず、まったく別のことで忙しくて、新しい取り巻きができてる、みたいな話が見たい。

We really need more anime about getting stuck in broken/poorly balanced and designed games or breaking it in angles the developers did not expect. I'm hoping we'll see something like an otome game parody where either the villainess or the heroine never actually make it to the academy, they're busy with some other business entirely with a new social circle of admirers.

知らない人のために。日本語で笑うは「笑い」。英語のlaughing out loudがlolになったように、warai は w に縮められた。
さらに、wwww と並べると草が生えてるように見えるから、「草」も笑うの意味で使われるようになった。

For everyone who doesn't know, the Japanese word for "laugh" is 笑 "warai". "warai" was shortened to "w" just like how "laughing out loud" was shortened to "lol" in English.
Another result of this is that when "wwww" is typed out it looks like a field of grass. The Japanese word for "grass" is 草 "kusa", which has become another synonym for laughing.

少なくとも、分かってる人ならアルゴリズムには抵抗できる。でも悪質なポップアップは、パソコンをほぼ、いや完全に使えなくすることもある。強いのにどこか抜けてるこの主人公に、ネットの危険を教えてくれる人がいたらいいのに。

At least, if one knows better one can push back against algorithms. Whereas a malignanat pop=up can make it virtually (or even totally) impossible to use one's computer. I wish that there was someone to warn our powerful byut hapless heroine of the perils of the Internet....

エルミナの人物情報に「二次創作でとても人気」って書いてあるのが好き。本編では死ぬはずのキャラだから、ファンが自分たちでエルミナの話を増やしたのも納得だ。ローナがエルミナのどんな出来事を防いだのか気になる。
ローナが掲示板を見つけた！　これで確定だ。ローナは文字どおりゲームのキャラで、この世界はかなり人気のJRPGに違いない。ということは、いつかゲームの本物の主人公に出くわすのかな。それと、ネットの言葉を「神々のスラング」って呼んでるのが好きｗ
本当に起きた！　ローナが怪しい広告でウイルスにかかった！　すぐに片づけたから、ローナのウイルス対策はかなり強力みたいだ。ボス部屋に入る前に、ボス戦の攻略はちゃんと読んでおくべきだったね。
この作品のドット絵は本当にかわいい。戦いがゲームの画面ではどう見えていたかを見せてくれるのがいい。あと、ボス戦の最中にローナが食事を丸ごと平らげてたのがめちゃくちゃ笑えた。回復のためにチーズを丸ごと一個食べてたら、もっと笑えたのに。
エルミナから見たローナの姿が最高。こっちに見えるのは、かわいくて純真な子なのに、エルミナは魔王の目をまっすぐ見ている気分なんだから ｗ
ローナに最初のファンができたみたい！　ラインハルテが本当に冒険者になるところも見られるのかな。

I love that the wiki entry for Elmina mentions she's extremely popular in fan works. Considering she's supposed to die in the main story, I'm not surprised the fans have taken it upon themselves to make more Elmina content. I am curious what event Lorna just prevented from happening to Elmina.
Lorna found the forums! This confirms it! She's literally a video game character, and her world must be a very popular JRPG. I wonder if that means Lorna will eventually run into the real protagonist of the game. Also, I love that how she's calling internet speak divine slang. xD
It actually happened! Lorna got a virus from a shady ad! Lorna seems to have a pretty robust antivirus, since it dealt with the threat immediately. Lorna should've really read through the boss encounter guide before entering the boss room.
The 2D sprites in this show are really charming. I love that they show us how the fight went down from the video game perspective. Also, Lorna eating an entire meal in the middle of the boss fight is f*****g hilarious. It would be even funnier if she ate an entire wheel of cheese to heal.
It's hilarious how Lorna looks like from Elmina's perspective. All we see is a cute cinnamon roll, while Elmina feels like she's looking at the Demon Lord straight in the eyes. xD
Looks like Lorna has her first fan! I wonder if we'll actually see Reinhart become an adventurer.

I think an issue is also him just being out of combat practice or traveling experience for a long while now. Gate guard duty is ideally uneventful as can be.

気づいた人がいるか分からないけど、ドラゴン戦でゲームの画面の場面になるたびに、音楽も、いつものオーケストラから、昔のMIDI音源みたいな音に切り替わってた。

I'm not sure if anyone notices. But during the dragon fight, whenever they show the fight in 2D, the music also switches to the old midi sound instead of regular orchestra bgm

I went into this show expecting another generic power fantasy slop but like, 3 episodes in and this has been an incredibly hilarious and fun show to watch lol

Hell, the game geometry exploitation in this episode was already part of that. The dragon simply wasn't able to go past the altar. Even when it was flying around it bumped into an invisible barrier

パズルのダンジョンにとって、ネットはまさに天敵。ネットが無かった頃どうやって解いてたか、もう忘れた。
そうそう、ボスの射程の外から遠距離攻撃で殴る。ゲームの王道中の王道だ。あのゲームは本当にバランスが崩れてるけど、攻略情報でローナが最強にならないと、この設定が成り立たないか。
怪しい詐欺広告には笑ったけど、ローナのネットのスキルがうっかりウイルスにやられることは無いみたいだね。よかった！
エルミナが本当に死ぬとは思えない。たぶんローナが命を救って、ゲームを壊すんだろう。

Internet is really the bane of puzzle dungeons. I forgot how I used to solve those before it existed.
Ah yes, hitting the boss from out of his range with ranged attacks, a true classic of video games. That game really is unbalanced, but then I guess the premise would not work if having a walkthrough did not make Lorna overpowered.
The shady scams ads made me laugh, but I guess Lorna cannot accidentally infect her internet skill with a virus. Good for her !
I doubt that Elimina will actually die. Lorna will probably save her life and break the game.

いま『ラス・オブ・ザ・ライチャス』をやってるけど、パズル系のクエストは全部スルーしてる。

Playing Wrath of the righteous and just don't bother with any of the puzzle quests.

あのスキル持ちにとっては、ありえないくらい簡単な課題だよな笑。ボス戦なら攻略本があっても操作しだいで負けることはあるけど、パズルは答えが手元にあったら意味がない笑。

Literally the easiest possible challenge for someone with that skill lol. A boss fight you can still theoretically lose even if you have a strategy guide because execution matters, but puzzles are meaningless when you have an answer key lol

I don't think we're supposed to believe they're gods. She doesn't know what the internet it, so she just attributes player comments to conversations between deities. But they're just forum users.

このアニメのうまいところは、主人公がネットが何なのかをまったく知らないところだと思う。異世界の住人が、こっちの世界の道具を手に入れて、手探りで使い方を覚えていくんだ。

I think the genius of this show is that the MC has no actual prior understanding of what the internet is. Just a denizen of an isekai who gets a resource from our world and has to figure it out.

自分のとんでもない強さに気づかない主人公や、失敗するたびになぜか出世していく主人公とは違っていて、新鮮でいい。まず（今のところ）異世界ものじゃないし、次にオタクでも中二病でもない。

Well this really is a nice change up to the character who’s oblivious to how absurdly powerful they are or someone who keeps failing upwards.
First not an Isekai (so far) and second not a otaku or edgelord.

I know i said I wanted more Elmina....but im starting to feel bad for her. At the very least I hope she realized Lorna doesnt want to kill her soon. The Demon Lord bit can keep going though.

I have a theory that she is an NPC of the game and her AI woke up after the servers shut down.

I think there's a web novel about a board for isekai protagonists in different settings talking to each other and giving each other advice. The whole story is told in the posts on the board.

ローナがゲームの世界のNPCなのは確定として、この世界に本物のプレイヤーはいるのかな。それとも、プレイヤーキャラのいない世界なのかな。

So Lorna is definitely a NPC in a game world but I wonder if there's actual players in this world or is this an instance of the world without a player character?

自分でアバターを作るタイプのゲームで、この世界では、ローナが事実上のプレイヤーキャラ、ってこともありうる。なんなら、ネットのスキルは、攻略情報を見ながら遊ぶ誰かに操作されてることの、作中版とも言える。笑う。

Could also be that it's a game where you create an avatar character and so she IS effectively the player character in this instance of the world. Hell, you could even say having internet as a skill is just the in universe version of being played by someone who is constantly following a guide lol

Does make me wonder if the actual player character will be the antagonist if they are introduced since they would treat the world just as a game

Man, if this anime remains consistent with this level of humor and Lorna's goofy adorableness, this is gonna become one of my all-time favorites. Three episodes and each one has left me smiling like an idiot after each one. I get a little sad when I finish watching the current episode.

Showing the fight with the dragon as gameplay was actually a pretty fun way to avoid animating it

エルミナには死んでほしくない。ローナのいない本来の物語なら、ネタバレどおりになるんだろう。でもローナが加わって、話が実質的に枝分かれした。そのせいでエルミナは自分の存在に悩むはめになって、本来の物語の危険から逃れて、田舎に引っ込んだわけだ。それにOPを見る限り、エルミナは主人公の仲間になるみたいだし。

I don't want Elmina to die. If this was the OG story where Lorna is not part of it, she will follow the spoiler part. But with Lorna into the mix, the story practically branches out, which made Elmina suffer existential crisis and retreated to the countryside safe from the dangers of the OG story. And based on the OP, she is part of the MC group.

いまでも毎年、防振りを見返してる。あれは本当にすごい作品。
こっちはある意味その逆で、無敵なのに何も分かってないプレイヤーじゃなくて、何も分かってないのに強すぎるMMORPGの世界のNPCなんだよね。
正直、二つの共通点はいくらでも挙げられるし、だからこそ今これだけ楽しめてるんだと思う。防振りほどではないけど、間違いなく最高の場面がある。

To this day, I still rewatch BOFURI every year. That show is honestly amazing.
This show is a bit of the opposite as we have a clueless NPC in a MMORPG world that is overpowered instead of a clueless player that's invincible.
Honestly, I can make so many links between the two, which is probably why I enjoy this show as much as I am right now. It's not as good as BOFURI, but it definitely has its great moments.

Pure poetry. Also same, girl. Same lol. Using the internet to clear dungeons is the way to go. Although the minute she said everything on the internet doesn’t lie or whatever, I knew s**t would go down. Good thing she was able to spam attacks behind those stairs.
I guess that’s that for Elmina’s “elite life” lol. Girl just packed it up and went home.

Lorna beating the boss by exploiting the room geometry is such a mood. Been there done that. Is this game made by Bethesda?

I am curious what event Lorna just prevented from happening to Elmina.
I think it's just because Elmina said "f**k this" and decided to go back home to the countryside. Presumably whatever is supposed to kill her is something within the vicinity of the city or related to her job which are both moot points if she just packs up and leaves.

予算が多くないのは見て分かるから、戦闘をドット絵で乗り切る工夫は好き。

テラドレインでいつでも麻痺させられたなら、安全地帯すら要らなかったのでは。
さすがにもうネットに慣れて、アイテムボックスくらいは調べるだろうと思ってた［ところで、翻訳がいつまでもインベントリって訳さないのにイラッとしてるのは自分だけ？］。あ、結局ちゃんと調べたみたいだね。

赤い魔女は、なんでわざわざダンジョンに入って主人公の様子を見に来たんだろう。ダンジョンが壊されていく音を聞いたら、本当に家に帰るほうが自然だったのに。
とにかく、今回は前回よりずっと良かった。今期の水曜のアニメはこれだけだから、ありがたい。

I thought she'd be proficient enough with the Internet by now to know to look up Item Box [BTW, is anyone else annoyed but the constant failure of translators to properly translate the term to Inventory?] Oh, looks like she did look it up eventually.

Why did Red Witch decide to enter the dungeon to check on MC? It would've made more sense for her to really go home after she heard the dungeon being taken apart.
Anyway, this ep was much better than the last one, which is a good thing as this is my only Wednesday anime this season.
