久しぶりに星崎が登場したけど、相変わらずクールなままだ。
エルザがインターネットを知っていくのも面白い。
二人静は、エルザを手助けして住む場所まで用意してあげてて、かなり頼りになるみたいだ。

Seems like Shizuka is pretty useful with the way she is helping out and even offering a place to live for Elsa.

今回の二人静は本当に良かった。エルザの面倒を見て、住む場所まで用意してあげてた。

Glad to see Elsa is ok and even being happy at experiencing the internet. Shizuka was really good this episode with looking after Elsa and giving her a place to stay.

これは全部、手の込んだハニートラップだと思ってた。
王子と結婚したくないのは本心だとしても、あれだけ抜け目のない貴族の令嬢が、この状況を政治的に利用しないはずがない。

I assumed this was all an elaborated honeytrap. Like yes, she was being honest about not wanting to marry the prince but there is no way a noble lady as cunning as her is not taking advantage of the situation for political gains.

含みには気づいたけど、普通の視聴者はたぶん気づいてない。父親は事実上、娘を佐々木に嫁がせたようなものだ。

I noticed the implications, but I doubt the average viewer did. Her dad basically gave her hand to him.

このアニメの、二つの世界を行き来するところが本当に好きだ。もっと多くの異世界ものがこうしてくれたらいいのに。（『デジモンアドベンチャー』や『02』、『100万の命の上に俺は立っている』みたいに挙げられる作品もあるけど、たいていはやらない。）
世界が二つあるんだから、両方使えばいい。

I really like the back and forth aspect of this anime, wish more isekai did that. (I could name some - Digimon Adventure/02, 100-man no Inochi - but most don't.)
You have two worlds, use both of them.

エルザを側室に求めたのは兄の王子のほうだから、エルザは事実上、伯爵を寝返らせるための人質になるんだよ。

The count is supporting the younger prince to get the throne, the older prince was the one who requested Elsa to become his concubine so she becomes effectively a hostage to get him to change sides

エルザにまだ息があって、運が良かった。でなきゃ、生き返らせる魔法が要るところだった。それにしても、エルザの覚悟は大したもんだ。旅立たせるための芝居も、なかなかの仕掛けだったな。星崎は星崎で、告白されたり、ほかの女子に嫉妬されたりがしょっちゅうなんだろうな。佐々木の変装は『マリッジトキシン』の下呂にそっくりだった（笑）。この調子だと、佐々木たちはいずれお隣さんやアバドンと戦うことになりそうだ。

Kinda lucky that Elsa still had life in her. Otherwise they would had needed resurrection instead. Elsa's determination though really is something. That was quite the ruse they created to allow Elsa to leave though. Hoshizaki must get her fair share of love confessions and jealousy from other girls though. Sasaki's disguise looked just like Gero from Marriagetoxin lol. From the looks of things Sasaki and co are gonna have to fight against Otonari and Abaddon at some point.

They put the premises of at least 3 animes into a blender. 4 if you count "paranornal police procedural" as a separate premise.

Kind of hilarious seeing Pii-chan acting as Elsa’s interpreter while she’s watching that drama. I guess Netflix is as good of a place to start as any when introducing the power of the internet to an Otherworlder lol.
It’s wild Sasaki’s caught in that quarantine zone again after last week’s ep. Twice in a row must be some kinda record.

Reminds me of Charl from "Am I actually the strongest?". I wonder if Elsa is going to become obsessed with magical girl anime?

エルザが命を絶とうとしたのは、実は本当じゃなかった、となるかと思ったけど、本当だった。
ピーちゃんがエルザにインターネットを教えて、自分の訳つきで恋愛ドラマを見せてたのは最高に笑えた。ネットであまり堕落しないといいけど（笑）。
星崎は、新堂とあの3人の女子、特に金髪の子をうまくあしらってた。
それと、あんな格好でテストが赤点なんて詐欺だ、っていう二人静の一言には大笑いした。まったく同感だ。

I thought that maybe Elsa's attempt on her own life would turn out to be false, but nope, it was real.
Pii-chan introducing the internet to Elsa and showing her love dramas with his translations was hilarious. Let's hope that the internet won't deprave her too much though, lol.
Hoshizaki nicely dealt with Shindo and those three girls, especially the blonde one.
Also, Shizuka's comment about Hoshizaki that failing tests while dressing like that feels like a fraud cracked me up, hahaha! I certainly feel the same way.

dammit, this effect they did whenever people get transported into the barrier manage to scare me for a moment because i thought my screen was glitching

自分が見てた字幕では、ピーちゃんの台詞が、
彼の言い方に合わせて書き換えられてた。
一語一語じゃなく大まかな意味で訳して、
名前も省いて、
台詞の合間に収まるようにしてたんだ。
音声のタイミングに合わせる本物の吹き替えの技を、
アニメで見るとは思わなかった。

My subber of choice changed Peeps' subtitles to accurately match how he was using shorthand, translating it into general sentiments than word for word, and dropping names in order to fit his interpretation within the pauses between dialog. Didn't think I'd see real dubbing techniques to match audio timing like this in an anime.

Same, I remember my display breaking live that way and when I saw the same thing last episode, my heart raced.

I hope they at least tell Maximillian what happened to Elsa after the fake attack. It would suck if they kept him in the dark the entire time.

星崎は佐々木の相棒だよ（水を操る能力者）。普段は化粧が濃いのと、16歳にしてはすごく大人びてるのとで、ずっと年上に見えるんだ。

Hoshizaki is sasaki’s partner (water control psychic), she normally looks a lot older due to a lot of makeup and being very mature for a 16 year old.

すぐに回復魔法を始めないなら、現代人の佐々木さんは、なんで胸骨圧迫とか、そういう処置をしなかったんだろう？

If he wasn’t going to immediately start a healing spell in the beginning why wasn’t Mr modern man trying chest compressions or anything back like that

胸骨圧迫は、正しくやると肋骨が折れる。それに、未婚の若い令嬢の体に手を触れることにもなる。動揺して遅れるのはまずいけど、回復魔法から始める理由はいくらでもある。応急手当の訓練が体に染みついていないなら、なおさらだ。

Chest compressions crack ribs if done correctly. It would also be putting his hands on a young unmarried lady. Delay from shock is bad but there's a whole host of reasons to start healing magic instead, especially if it's never been ingrained into you like first aid training.

今シーズン、ほんとに大好き。この調子なら、今期いちばんになっても驚かない。
お隣さんは出なかったけど、それでもすごく楽しくて笑えた。佐々木と二人静のやり取りが本当に好き。星崎についての二人静の一言は特に笑えた。ピーちゃんも今回はすごくいい先生だった（笑）

I'm really loving this season. At this rate, it wouldnt be surprising if it ended up being my AOTS.
the episode didnt have Otonari-san but it was still very fun and hilarious. I really love the interactions between Sasaki and Shizuka. her comments about Hoshizaki were especially funny. Pii-chan was also being such a great teacher this episode lol

This show is never lack of drama or action lol. There are like 5 plots going on at the same time lol.
Elsa got about 6 months to learn about all the stuff she needs. Let's see how much she can get to transform the world.

He was also speaking a lot more formally, as Elsa is a noble.

厳密に言うと、隔離区域の仕組みからして、
佐々木はもっと何度も巻き込まれてたのかもしれない。
描かれてるのは、発動したときに
たまたま障壁を張ってた、珍しい場面だけなんだ。

Technically because of the way the quarantine zone works he couldve been through a lot of them and these are just the rare times where he happens to have a barrier up when it activates.

次回、佐々木がアバドンに一瞬でビーム魔法を撃って、一発で片付けたら笑える。

Would be funny if he just instantly beam-spelled Abaddon next episode and took him out in one hit.

まんまとやられた。能力者の捜査と結界は、佐々木をまたデスゲームの試合に引き戻すための目くらましだったんだ。今度はお隣さんと出くわす気がする。

They got me good. The psychic investigation and barrier were a red herring to get Sasaki back into a death game match. Something tells me this time he will run into neighbor-chan.

この作品が面白いかどうかに、文句がある人はいないと思う。むしろ逆だ。みんなが引っかかってるのは、一度にいろんなことが起きすぎてるところだと思う。

I don't think people have a problem with how interesting the show is. Quite the opposite actually. I think people have a problem with how many things are going on at once.

自分は好きだよ。いろんな要素がどんどん足されて詰め込みすぎ、って声もよく見るけど、見ていて楽しい。

I like it. I’ve seen a lot of comments saying it’s too much with all the different elements that keep getting added into it but I find it fun to watch

それに、赤点なのはたぶん、学校に通いながら魔法少女に撃たれる毎日で、勉強する時間なんてまるで無いからだろう。

Plus she probably fails because she has absolutely no time to actually study between going to school and getting shot at by magical girls.

昔の無声映画で、活弁士が横に立って台詞を読み、
何が起きているかを説明していたのを思い出した。
ピーちゃんが異世界の言葉で言う台詞が、
元の日本語と少しずつ違っていて、
翻訳で生まれる微妙なずれがよく出ていて笑った。
しかも、見ていた作品は海外が舞台みたいだったから、
たぶん英語あたりから日本語に吹き替えたもの。
つまりピーちゃんは、
その上からさらに訳し直してるわけだ。

It reminded me of silent movies back in the day, where "katsuben" (silent film narrators) would stand by the side to read the dialogue and explain what was happening.
I got a good laugh out of how the lines Pi-chan says in the otherworldly language use slightly different words than the original Japanese, which really captures that subtle drift you get with translations.
On top of that, since the movie Pi-chan and the others were watching seemed to be set outside of Japan, it was probably dubbed into Japanese from English or something. That basically means Pi-chan is doing a re-translation on top of that.

まだ若いのに、あのお姫様が戦国武将のような胆力を持っていたのが、本当に印象的だった。まさに「貴族の娘たるもの、こうあるべし」という雰囲気だった。
それとは対照的に、一家の当主である父親が、心から娘を案じて気にかけていたのも、見ていて良かった。
星崎は、真面目な優等生みたいな見た目なのにテストは赤点、高校では男子に人気なのに、実は職場の年上の男（佐々木）に気がある、っていう濃いキャラになった。あれは笑った。

It was really striking how the princess had the mental fortitude of a Sengoku warlord despite being so young. She had that exact "this is how a noble daughter should be" vibe.
In contrast, it was great to see her father, the head of the noble family, actually being deeply worried about her and looking out for her.
Hoshizaki became such an intense character with how she looks like a straight-laced student but gets failing grades on her tests, and how she's popular from boys at her high school but is actually into an older guy at her workplace (Sasaki). That made me laugh.

作画もちゃんとしてて、しっかりした回を見られたのは、ずいぶん久しぶりな気がする。

Damn I feel like its been a long time since we actually had a solid episode with actually decent production values.

毎回この回みたいな出来なら、本当にいい作品なのに。前の2話みたいなのじゃなくてさ。

This show would actually be good if episodes are executed like this, not like the previous 2 episodes.

起こりうる超常現象が、片っ端から全部起きてる（笑）。そのうち宇宙人も出てくるに決まってる。
