Yeah, but the antimeme part is that his mid 40s is denser than most teenage romcom protagonists. Honestly, that in some ways makes Yamada/Tamaya the main character, because its her reactions that are guiding our perception of Sasaki.

I wondered about them both keeping their jackets on after that whole how hot it is even in the evening routine. Tayama showed she was lightly dressed underneath bit what about Sasaki? Was he just being polite since she was with him and he didn't want to seem too casual? He did eventually take off the jacket to offer it to her though.

アメリカは、厳格な道徳を重んじたプロテスタントの一派、ピューリタン（清教徒）が入植した歴史を持つ国です。そのため英語では「puritanical（清教徒的）」が「お堅い、性に厳しい」という意味で使われ、アメリカ人の潔癖さを語るときに「清教徒の国だから」と持ち出すのが定番の説明になっています。直前の書き込みがスポイラーの伏せ字で「アメリカ人」と名指ししたのを受けて、一言で答えたわけです。

「Muzak（ミューザック）」は、もともとアメリカで店舗やエレベーター向けに背景音楽を流していた会社の名前です。そこから英語では、スーパーやエレベーターで流れる当たり障りのない編曲の音楽そのものを「Muzak」と呼ぶようになりました。この書き込みは、店内に流れる曲がOPの店内放送用アレンジなのでは、と気づいたもので、訳の「店内放送版」はこの言葉に当たります。

総評
4chan側は、まず苛立ちます。「『ナガトロ』の先輩でさえ、この男より情けなくないぞ」「この中年の男は、こういう振る舞いをやめてくれないか」と続きました。一方で擁護も同じスレッドにあり、「気に入らないかもしれないが、佐々木が弱腰なのは「炎上」への恐れで正当化できると思う」「外国人には、内気な中年男の魅力は決して理解できない」という読みが印象的でした。もう一つの4chanらしさは自分の話にすることで、「田山は文字どおり俺だ」「俺が佐々木だ」が並び、「どうしてみんな愁嘆場や色事を求めるんだ。ただ雰囲気を楽しめないのか」という声が最も返信を集めています。

4chanが配信形式や煙草の値段に脱線したのに対し、Redditは終始ふたりの距離から目を離しませんでした。片方は自分を、片方は作品の中の二人を語っていた回です。
