いちばん盛り上がったのは、図書室を見たマインの豹変ぶりです。Reddit では「ラストは笑った。本さえ渡せば何でもやるなこの子！」という声に続き、貯金を寄付に回す決断を論じる声が並びました。4chan でも「マインはあんな思いつきで人生の大事な進路を決めちゃダメだろ」という突っ込みに、「本人が知る限り、あと1年くらいで死ぬんだぞ」と返す人がいました。
もう一つの山は、この世界の神話と神殿です。「ほかの異世界もの：教会は悪だ」と始まる書き込みは、本を遠ざける神殿だけは許せないと続き、命の神が悪役なことも驚かれました。手をつないで褒めるルッツも好評で、「今期のベストカップルはこれで決まり。」という声もあります。

冒頭、ベンノが身食いで亡くした人の過去を少し明かす。時は流れ、マインとルッツは7歳の洗礼式を迎える。母の仕立てた晴れ着と髪飾りで着飾ったマインは、ベンノに抱えられ、ルッツには手をつないで褒められる。神殿では神話の語りと祈りのポーズに笑いをこらえるが、図書室を見つけた途端、巫女見習いになりたいと言い出し、大金貨1枚の寄付まで申し出る。神官長も登場する。

Well she did say "one large gold is all I'm willing to spend", not that it's all she had, so I imagine she still has at least a decent amount saved up for her family.
マインがベンノに肩車されてるのを見た父さんの「おい、それは俺の役目だろ！」って反応、控えめに言ってもかわいかった。
それと、死ぬ前にパウンドケーキのレシピを公開してねってマインに言ったあと、フリーダが涙をこぼしてたのを見ると、二人がどれだけ仲良くなったかが分かる。
Dad-san's reaction to Myne riding on Benno's shoulders is like "Hey, that's my job!" was adorable to say the least.
And Frieda shedding a tear after she told Myne to publicly release the pound cake recipe just before she dies just goes to show how close the two characters have gotten.
二人とも別々の道を選んで、お互いにその決断を尊重してる。いい場面だった。
They both took different paths and they both respect the decision of each other. Such a great moment.
死ぬ直前に公開しろって言ったんじゃないよ。マインはもって1年って言われてから半年たってて、フリーダとは1年の独占契約を結んでる。フリーダが言ってたのは「1年後もちゃんと生きてて自分で公開しなさい、私が代わりにやってあげたりしないから」ってこと。
she wasn't saying to release it just before she dies, it's been half a year since they said myne has one year left tops, and she was given a one year exclusive contract. frieda was saying you better still be alive in one year to make it public, i'm not going to do it for you.

それだけじゃなく、出入りするために向こうで一番大きな通貨（だいたい10万ドル相当）を出すつもりなんだからな。紙のレシピとパウンドケーキのレシピを売ってそれだけ稼いだってことは、それだけ価値があったってことだ。財産のほとんどは家族に渡したんだと思う（大金貨1枚は……たしか父さんの給料の8〜10年分くらい）。かなり儲かる商売だよな。俺が彼女なら、紙づくりの商売から家族に使用料が入るようにして、アイデアから安定した収入が得られるようにしとくけど、一括で売るんじゃなくてそうする発想が彼女にあったかは分からない。本がたくさんある場所を見つけた以上、入るためなら一銭残らず使うだろうね。
Not only that she will spend the largest currency they have (rough equivalent of $100,000 USD) to do get access. The fact that she gained that by selling the paper recipe and the pound cake recipe shows just how valuable those are. Im sure she gave most of her wealth to her family (1 large gold coin would be....rough equivalent of \~8-10 years wages for her dad i think) so thats quite the profitable industry. If i was her i would put provisions for her family to receive royalties from the papermaking business so they have a steady source of income from her ideas but im not sure if that occured to her rather than selling it for a flat fee. Now she found a place that has lots of books im sure she will spend every penny she has to gain access.

マインは家族のためにお金を貯めてるんだと思ってた。大金貨1枚あれば家族はずいぶん助かったはずだ。特に、死ぬまでにお金を稼げる時間があと半年くらいしかないことを考えるとね。でもまあ、お金の面で無責任だとしても、好きなことをするチャンスは掴む価値があるんだろうな。
Oh neat, we finally met the priest at the baptism.
I thought Main was saving her money for her family, and a large gold coin probably would have gone a long way for them—especially considering she only has like half a year left to earn money before she dies. But I guess it's worth taking the opportunity to do things you love, however financially irresponsible.

それにしても神話を語ってるときの絵が素晴らしかった。

I just realized that with this much money Myne could probably just f*****g buy the books already instead of getting employed. Unless only nobles are allowed to buy books or some other bullshit.
本はとんでもなく高いんだよ。1冊ずつ写字生が手で写さなきゃいけないうえに、インクと羊皮紙の値段もかかるから、手間も材料も高くつく。しかも本に興味があるのは実質貴族だけだから、売る相手が限られてて需要も少ない。本や図書室は富を見せびらかす手段だから、大半の本はそれに見合った豪華なものになる。
全部が重なって、本がとんでもなく高くなってるわけ。
books are absurdly expensive since every single one needs to be manually copied down by a scribe, the ink and parchment cost add to that making both the labour and materials expensive, to add to that only nobles are really interested in books so you have a limited clientele to sell to and a rather low demand, since books and libraries are a way to show your wealth most books must reflect that.
Everything cascades into making books absurdly expensive.

洗礼式のときに、彼女か彼女の魂に何か違うところがあるのに気づいたんだと思う。
My guess is that he noticed something different about her or her soul during the Baptism.
マインが神官に見出されるんじゃなくて、自分で周到に策を練って近づいていくのが、すごくこの作品らしい。たいていの話はキャラにこういう主体性を持たせないで、さっさと描きたい筋に進みたがる。本当に拍手を送りたい。
そのうち「マインは楽してる」って言い出す奴が現れて、視聴者がめちゃくちゃイラっとするんだろうな。
The fact that Myne isn't discovered by the priest but meticulously plots her way into his company is so like this show. Most stories don't give their characters this kind of agency, they just want to get to the plot they want to tell. I really applaud it.
One day someone will claim that Myne has it easy which will really rustle the viewers jimmies I imagine.

いやはや、この作品は本当にすごい！
まず前回の悲しみの続きで、ベンノの過去が少し語られて（この世界は本当に残酷になれるけど、それがかえってリアルにしてる）、ちょっと時間が飛んで家族のためにお金を回して、それから洗礼式。そして最後は単純な解決策。そりゃ聖職者は本も知識もたくさん持ってるし、マインはいい服を着てて商売でかなり稼いでたから入れるかもしれない。祈りのポーズは間違いなく爆笑もの。マインが笑ってるのに誰も気づかなくて罰を受けずに済んでよかった。ちゃんとした神話もある。まあ作者は設定をきっちり固めようとしてるから予想どおりか。そしてついに神官の出番が来た！ 熱心なファンだと言われてる人たちは、マインと一緒にお祝いしてるだろうな。
残り2話もきっと面白いはず、楽しみだ
My goodness, this show really is something!
First continuing the sadness, including a bit of Benno's backstory (this world really can be cruel, but it only makes it more realistic), a bit of a timeskip with investments for the family and then the ceremony. And finally a simple solution. Of course the clergy has a lot of books and knowledge, and as Main had nice clothes and earned quite a lot in trade she may join. The praying poses surely are hilarious, good thing Main wasn't punished as no one realised she was laughing. There is some actual mythology; well, the author is trying to keep the lore tight so that was to be expected. The priest had his screentime, finally! His allegedly big fans sure are celebrating with Main.
The two remaining episodes will surely be interesting, looking forward to them

感情の面でも進路の面でも、とんでもない方向転換だったな……。今期はほぼずっと、本の産業を始めるためにマインが商人を目指して積み上げていくのを見てきたのに、図書室をひとつ見つけた途端に ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ) ってなって、貯めたお金を勢いでぜんぶ投げ出した。
俺も何かにこれくらい夢中になれたらなあ……
This was one hell of a tone shift, both in terms of emotion and a career path... We spent pretty much the entire season with Myne building up towards becoming a merchant so that she could start the book industry until she spots one library, goes ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ) and haphazardly throws away all the money she saved up.
I wish I could be this engrossed in something...

We I spent pretty much the entire season with Myne my entire life building up towards becoming a merchant functioning adult so that she I could start the book industry become successful until she I spots one library anime, goes ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ) and haphazardly throws away all the money she I saved up.

新しい発明をして、新しい人に会って、もしかしたら新しい町に行ったり、フリーダを通じて貴族と取引したり。ルッツやベンノと商人をやるほうが、図書室があるってだけで青い髪の男と巫女として身を捧げるより、ずっと面白そうに思える。せめて魔法の使い方を教わるか、魔術具をちょろまかすかしてほしい……
まあ、原作小説でファンに一番人気なのは分かってるけど、青い髪の神官さんはハードルが高いぞ。たぶん好きになるとは思うけど、今のところ相手はマインのかわいい家族、ルッツとの発明、そしてもちろんベンノだ。罪なほどセクシーなベンノ。
ベンノってこれ以上カッコよくなれるの？ この人が大好きすぎる。

I think seeing her making up new inventions, meeting new people, maybe even going to new towns and maybe trade with nobles via Frieda as a merchant with Lutz and Benno sounds way more interesting than devoting herself as a priestess with blue haired guy just because it has a library. At the very least, maybe she can ask them how to cast magic or siphon off their magical tools...
Still, I know he's the fan favourite of the LNs but blue haired priest dude has a lot to live up to. I'm sure I'll like him but right now it's him vs Main's cute family, Main's inventions with Lutz and of course Benno. Stupid sexy Benno.

おお、最初に出てきた人にやっと会えた。ところでマインって何歳だっけ？ ルッツとだいたい同い年なのは分かってるけど、元の年齢をつい考えちゃって、ルッツの倍くらいの歳に思えてくる。

マインの体は7歳でルッツと同じ。子どもはその歳で洗礼を受けるから。でも異世界に来る前は少なくとも20代だったはず。たしかはっきりとは言ってなかったけど、本屋か図書館で働いてて、本が崩れてきて下敷きになって死んだんだよね。

最初は自分にとってすごく退屈な作品だったのに、数週間で異世界もの歴代トップ10入りしたのが面白い。世界観の作り込み、キャラ同士のやりとり、緊張感、どれもすごくリアルで説得力がある。大げさなボス戦やパワーのインフレ、魔法みたいないかにもな異世界要素じゃなくて、人と人との関係に焦点を当てた地に足のついた話なんだよ。そこが本当にありがたい。こう思ったのはログ・ホライズン以来だ。来年の無職転生もそうなってくれるといいな。
羊皮紙の商売が終わったのは寂しかったけど、仕方ない。ルッツはついに今のマインをそのまま受け入れて、気持ちも変わってないみたいだ。全力で推す。「綺麗すぎて言葉が出なかった」って。いいぞ、王様、そういうのが見たいんだ。あと数週間か、終わったら寂しくなるな。
It's funny how this went from such a boring series for me to being top 10 isekai all time in a matter of weeks. The world building, character interactions and tension are all so real and believable. It's a very down to Earth tale that focuses on interpersonal relationships rather than some over the top boss fights, power scaling, magic and usual isekai stuff. I really appreciate that, first time I've felt that way since LH, hopefully Mushoku Tensei will deliver on that next year as well.
Was sad to see the parchment business come to a close, but it can't be helped. Lutz has finally grown to accept this Maine for who she is and it doesn't look like his feelings have changed. I ship, hard. "You're so pretty you left me speechless." Yes, king, we love to see it. Few weeks left, will be sad to see this one go.

Interesting theology for this world, I loved the artwork and slightly eerie statues. Interesting that the god of life was the bad deity in a sense, with ties to winter. I wonder if Main will get to explore this religion a bit, I just hope she doesn't do anything heretical.

Being X took puts her situations where she has to worship or die, its pretty much a curse for all intents and purposes. Not that he gives comfortable lives to everyone who worships him earnestly. He just seems hell bent on making this one particular soul worship him for some reason.
