このアニメ、何もかもがRPGっぽいのが好き。特定の武器を持ってると台詞が出る。プレイヤーがいるのを忘れたみたいに、NPC同士が話してる。悪役が自分の状況もおかまいなしに独白する。

Cute chaos gremlin is such a fun genre of anime.
I love how everything in the show just feels like an RPG. Triggered dialogue because she's holding a certain weapon. NPCs talking amongst themselves as if they forgot the player is there. Bad guys (or girls) monologuing with no regard for their situation.

ローナはそもそもNPCで、RPGの主人公の代わりになっちゃったんだから、どこかに本来のプレイヤーキャラもいるのかな。

誰か（〈神〉）がローナをからかって、超高難度の場所に送り込む回が見たい。ネットは嘘をつかないから確かめもしないで、新しい裏技を見つけてクリアしちゃうやつ！

I need one episode of someone (A "god") trolling her and sending her to ultra hard place which she wont double check because the internet never lies and she clears it by finding a new exploit/trick!

で、戻ってきて『わあ、思ったより大変だったけど、なんとかなりました。やったのは……』って、その挑戦を丸ごと無意味にする裏技を書き込むんだ。
そしたら『あんたは命の恩人だ』ってコメントが付く。

Imagine she comes back like "Wow, this was a bit harder than expected, but I made it. All I had to do was..." and then she just gives an exploit that renders the whole challenge obsolete.
And then come the "You're a life-saver" comments.

一度に全部売ったら値崩れするって、ローナがちゃんと分かってたのがよかった。

I do feel like she's gonna crash the economy if she sells that many Phantom Leaves in one go.
I liked that she knew the price would tank if she just sold them all at once.

知らないキャラばかりのイベントシーンを見せられる、あの気まずい瞬間。

That awkward moment when you have to watch a cutscene involving characters you don't know.

だな。でも、もしローナが別のなりきりの人に会って、それを本人だと思い込んだら。同じスキルを持つ人だと思って長々と話したあとで、その人がなりきってたキャラ本人に会って、かわいそうな相手を思いきり混乱させるとか。

Yeah, but imagine if she met another roleplayer, and thought that was the actual person.
Like she has a whole conversation with someone, thinking it's another person with the same skill, and then she meets the character they're RP-ing as, and just confuses the heck out of the poor sod.

あの無限の金策の裏技、出来の悪いゲームにありそう。どんなMMOでも経済が壊れるし、あの珍しい薬草で錬金術のスキルもすぐ上がった。ローナはイージーモードで遊んでる。
ネットで人と話せるのも、可能性が広がるな。自我のあるAIが野放しになったわけだ。

That infinite money exploit feels like something you'd find in some poorly made game. It'd break the economy in any MMO, and that rare herb let her quickly level up her alchemy skill. Lorna is playing on easy mode.
Her being able to talk to people on the Internet opens so many possibilities, the self-aware AI is now on the loose.

90年代のRPGの世界に住んでるんだと思ってる。じゃなきゃ、強い武器がパスワードで封印されてる理由がない。パスワードや裏技のコマンドに本当に意味があったのは、あの頃だけだ。

I just assume she's living in a 90s RPG. Why else would a powerful weapon be locked behind a password. It was only back in those days when passwords and cheat codes actually meant something

まあ、このゲームは第1話からかなり壊れてるように見える。必要なクエストを一つもこなさずに、正しい言葉を言うだけで、終盤の武器みたいなのを手に入れたんだから。無限の金策のバグや、これまでの裏技は言うまでもない。

I mean, the game seems pretty broken even from episode one. She was literally able to get what appears to be an endgame weapon without completing any of the required missions just by saying the right words, not the least the infinite money glitch and other exploits she's used so far.

ゲームは壊れてない。昔のゲームではよくあることだと思う。コードやボタンの組み合わせで、先へ飛ばせたりする。そこがこのアニメのかわいいところ。こういうゲーム、みんな知ってるから。

Game is not broken. I think this is normal for a lot of retro games where some code or combination and you can skip stuff. It is kind of a cute aspect of this. Because we all know a game like this.

これはMMOじゃなくて一人用のゲームだから、問題ない。一人用なら、お金を無限に稼ぐ裏技なんて珍しくもない。

This is a single player game, not an MMO, so no big deal. Infinite money exploits aren't that rare in single player games.

切った草を無理やり生やし直すだけでお金が無限に稼げて、状態異常を全部防ぐ道具まで簡単に作れるなんて、本当に出来の悪いゲームだ。こうなると、公平に遊ぶには、わざと裏技を全部無視するしかない。

That game is truly badly made if you can farm infinite money just from forcing a cut plant to regrow. And easily make an object that protect you from all status effects. At that point the only fair way to play it would be to ignore on purpose all the exploits.

まあ、無限の金策はお金稼ぎには使わずに、エルフを救うのに使ったけどね。どれだけ残ってるかは知らないけど。でもローナは、もっといいものを手に入れた。ジュースとせんべいだ！

Well she didn't use the infinite money cheat, she ended up using it to save the elves. Idk if she has a ton remaining. But Lorna got something better. Juice and crackers!

One thing we learned that episode is that you should never get between Lorna and her food !

それと、ローナが掲示板に書く日本語の投稿をよく見ると、誤字や、漢字に変換されていない所があって、すごく目立つ。そのせいもあって、ネット初心者というか、すごく子どもっぽく見えて、いい味を出してる。
ゲームの掲示板らしい空気も好き。初心者まる出しの書き込みに、たいていの人はネットスラングやミームで返すのに、『明らかに初心者だし、優しくしてやろうぜ』って人が一人いて、攻略のヒントを教えてくれる。

Also, if you look closely at the Japanese posts she makes on the online forum, you'll notice typos and unconverted kanji, which really stands out. Partly because of that, her comments have a great vibe that makes her come across like an internet newbie or just really kid-like.
I love the authentic gaming forum vibe, where while most of the users reply to Lorna's totally newbie comments with internet slang and memes, there's that one person who's like, "She's clearly a beginner, let's be nice to her," and shares walkthrough tips with her.

Atelier Lorna: Savior of the Elves

ザリチェはオープニングにもエンディングにも出てこないから、心を入れ替える（新しい葉っぱをめくる）ことはなさそう。植物だけにね笑

Zariche does not appear in the opening and ending theme sequence, so I guess she will not be turning over a new leaf. Pun intended. Lol!

ゲームの理屈で言えば、低レベルの呪文を、ありえない魔法攻撃力で撃った結果ってことだろ。能力値が最大のレベル99の魔法使いが撃つファイアは、低レベルのキャラにファイガを無理やり覚えさせて撃つより威力が出る。
正直、『ダイの大冒険』のラスボスの『今のはメラゾーマではない……メラだ』を思い出した。ラスボスがドラクエ最弱の呪文を撃っただけで、主人公の仲間の魔法使いポップが当時いちばん強いメラゾーマを撃つより強かったやつ。日本ではかなり有名なネタの台詞だ。

I mean if we go by video game logic, it's the product of casting a low level spell with an absurd magic attack stat. A level 99 mage with max stats would do more damage with fire than a super low level one you hacked firaga onto.
Honestly, the whole thing reminds me of Adventures of Dai bit with the final boss "That was not Kafrizz, that was Frizz" where him using the lowest level DQ spell produced a more powerful spell than Popp (The mage of the MC group) using the strongest version (Kafrizz) at the time, which is actually a pretty famously memed line in Japan

開発は、いい加減このぶっ壊れゲームを直したほうがいい笑

一人用のRPGなんだから、楽しいところを直す必要はない。
少なくとも今のところの印象だと、あの掲示板はスーファミの『クロノ・トリガー』や『ファイナルファンタジーVI』みたいな、昔のRPGの攻略Wiki。ローナはネットにつながった〈NPC〉だから、ゲーム＝自分の世界のどこでも、コツと裏技を全部知ってる。

Its a single player rpg game no need to fix fun things.
At least that what I take from it so far, the forums is like a wiki for a old rpg like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI on snes, and she is a "npc" living inside the game that got access to internet so she knows all the tips and tricks to every part of the game/her world.

ザリチェ役の田所あずささん、すごく楽しんで演じてたみたい。あの企みも憎めない。

Tadokoro Azusa seemed to have a blast with her role as Zariche. I can't even be mad at her plot.

今期いちばん好きな作品かも。
ローナが何かを倒すたびに出る、訳の文字がびっしり詰まった画面を、一時停止して読むのも苦にならない。それがまた笑いを増やしてる気がする。

Might be my favorite show this season.
I don't even mind pausing to read the walls of translated text when she kills something. Feels like it adds to the hilarity.

ローナがうっかり高レベルのサブクエストを始めちゃうのは、かなり笑えた。やめられないか考えてるのも最高。エルフたちの場面はすごく深刻なのに、ローナはただぼーっと突っ立ってたのも笑える。

Lorna accidentally triggering a high-level sidequest was pretty funny. I love that she's even wondering if she can back out of it. It's also hilarious how the scene with the elves was super serious while Lorna just stood there being a goober.

エルフの里がエルフジュースとエルフせんべいで有名だと知るまで、ローナが全部面倒くさがってたのが笑える。疫病で生産が止まったと知った途端、態度を変えたもんな ｗ

It is hilarious how Lorna thinks this is all a pain in the ass until she learns the elven village is known for their Elven Juice and Elven Crackers. Girl immediately changed her tune as soon as she found out production had stopped because of the plague. xD

ザリチェがわざわざ温室に戻って悪役の独白をしてるあいだに、ローナはもう全員を治して、ザリチェの企みをエルフたちにばらしてたのが最高 ｗ

I love how Zariche just went back to her greenhouse to do her villain monologue, then as soon as she's done, Lorna has already cured everyone and exposed Zariche's plot to the elves. xD

ザリチェを逃がしといて、ボス戦を楽にする道具を作るローナが最高！　安い装飾品が実はぶっ壊れ性能で、面倒なボス戦が楽になるなら、自分も同じことをする！

Lorna letting Zariche get away while she crafts the item she needs to make her boss fight easier is hilarious! If I can make a low-tier accessory that's actually broken and make an annoying boss fight easier, I would've done the same!
