Granny is a greedy old cunt but this is one of the things that does make sense. Later FX is also the one who did not want Lakan to see her, she did not want him to se her in the state she was in.

漫画の大ファンだけど、後半のアニメ化のされ方にはあんまり満足してない。

今さら気づいたのか？ 猫猫は根に持つタイプなんだよ。それに憎んでるっていうより嫌ってる感じ。初対面が、血まみれの男が幼い自分をつかもうとしてくる場面だったんだぞ。そのうえ羅漢に嫉妬もしてる。

この場面で泣きそうになった。頭がダメになりかけてても、鳳仙は羅漢のことが分かったんだよ。羅漢はろくでもない男だったかもしれないけど、ハッピーエンドが必要だった。たとえほろ苦くてもな。

This moment about made me cry. She recognized him even though her brain was failing. Lakan may have been a douche but he needed a happy ending. Even if it was bitter sweet.

Thew top 3 are virgins or they wouldn't be as expensive as they are. Paiirin is thirsty, but she's never stepped bast that boundary of sleeping with the men.

I just don't understand the whole Lakan plot. Beneath the exterior of a ruthless tactician, Lakan really is a loveable goofball

こいつ最低だなと思わせてた細かい部分を、物語が全部ひっくり返して、優しくて思いやりのある男に見せたのが最高に好き。猫猫への執着、他人への無関心っぽさ、妓女の破滅を仕組んだかのように聞こえる謎めいた発言。ふたを開けたら、娘を心から愛してて、人の顔が分からない脳の障害があって、謎めいた発言は愛する人を救えなかった自分への自虐だった。皮肉抜きで最高の脚本。

I absolutely love how the story took all the little things that made you think he's a s**t head and absolutely turn it around to make him look like a kind caring man. His obsession with Maomao, his seeming disinterest in other people, his cryptic remarks that seem to sound like he orchestrated a courtesan's downfall. Turns out he genuinely loved his daughter, had a brain disorder that prevented him from seeing faces, and the cryptic remarks being self deprication at not being able to save the one he loved. Unironically peak writing.

この最終回で、羅漢の目に映る鳳仙を、羅漢が見ているとおりに見せたところで、本気で泣いてた。2期でこの二人をもっと見せてほしいし、鳳仙が少しでも回復するのか見てみたい。

Have to agree, when I first saw his character I hated him.
With this last episode I found myself in literal tears when they showed his perspective looking at Fengxian seeing her as he did. I hope season two shows more of them and I want to see if Fengxian has some sort of recovery.

何が一番いいって？ 俺たち、気づけたはずなんだよ！ 猫猫は作中で何度も、決めつける前に事実を見なきゃって言ってたのに、視聴者の俺たちは何をした？ 俺も含めて、多くがこの気の毒な男を吊るし上げる気満々だった。壬氏を助けたあとでさえ「こいつの狙いは何だ？」って感じだったし。俺は完全にしてやられたけど、その一瞬一瞬が最高だった。

You know what the best part about all of it? We should have f*****g known! Maomao at one point even comes out and says that she needs to look at facts before making assumptions multiple times in the series and what did we as the audience do? A lot of us were ready to crucify this poor dude myself included. Even after he helped save Jinshi we were all like what's this dude's angle? I personally got ropeadoped and I loved every minute of it.

羅漢には今でも、恋に落ちたときの若くて美しい鳳仙が見えてる。これからもずっとそうだろう。ただ、もう長くは生きられないっていう猫猫の見立てが当たってるのかは気になる。
猫猫は、母親は赤ん坊を産んだことを覚えてないと思ってる。でも羅漢が部屋に入ってきたとき子守唄を口ずさんでたんだから、母親は明らかにそういうことを何か覚えてるんだよ。

He still sees her as the young and beautiful women he fell in love with -- and he always will. I wonder if MaoMao is right that she does not have much longer to live, however.
MaoMao thinks her mother does not remember having a baby -- but her mother clearly DOES remember something of the sort -- given the child's lullaby she was singing to herself when Lakan came into her room.

I also like the detail where he broke his monocle after tripping. Not sure how his eyesight's like, but he was still able to recognize Fengxian in spite of that.

ほんとそれ。猫猫自身も羅漢と鳳仙のことをどう思ってるのか、はっきりとは分かってないと思う。でもどこかで、この家族のごたごたに何かしらの区切りが必要だってことは分かってるんだよ。

100%. I don’t think Maomao herself knows exactly what she feels about Lakan and Fengxian, but on some level she’s aware that she needs some form of closure on this family drama.

猫猫は、鳳仙についての唯一の記憶は指先を切られたこと、悪夢みたいなものだって言ってる。でも猫猫自身が言うとおり、指先はまた生えてくる。

Maomao says that her one memory of Fengxian is her cutting off her fingertip, a nightmare. But as Maomao says, fingertips grow back.

猫猫って全体的に、自分が誰かに愛着を持ってることに気づくのが苦手みたいだよね。おやじや姐さんたちは別。育ててもらったんだから。
でも視聴者から見て明らかに強い感情を持ってる相手（羅漢、鳳仙、壬氏とか）になると、自分の気持ちにまるで鈍感なんだよ。
何年も何年も一緒にいて、ようやく「ああ、この人とは大事な関係なんだ」ってピンとくるタイプの人なんだと思う。

Maomao in general seems to have difficulties recognizing when she’s attached to someone. Her father and big sisters are one thing, as she was raised by them.
But when it comes to people us as an audience can clearly tell she has strong feelings for (Lakan, Fengxian, Jinshi, etc.) she’s super oblivious to her own feelings.
I think she’s really just one of those people where you have to be close with them for years and years until it finally clicks for them that you share a meaningful relationship.

猫猫は何と言おうと、少なくとも実の両親の事情は理解してるんだよ。親として完全には認められなくてもね……娘として、これが精一杯できることだったんだ。

Despite what Maomao says, she at least understands her biological parents' circumstances even if she can't fully acknowledge them as her parents...and as their daughter, this was the least she could do.

正直、梅梅が最終的に一番望んでたのは、姐さんの鳳仙がようやく報われて幸せになることだったんだと思う。今はそれで十分なんだよ。
それでも梅梅には、羅漢が鳳仙を見るように自分を見てくれる人がふさわしい。

Honestly Meimei seemed like the thing she wanted most in the end was for her big sister Fengxian to finally get the happiness she deserved, and that's enough for her for now.
She deserves someone who can see her like Lakan sees Fengxian anyways.

悲しいのは、みんながもう少しお互いを信じてたら、羅漢と鳳仙はずっと長く一緒にいられたってこと。でも当時は生き方がガチガチに縛られてたから、誰もが相手に悪意があるって決めつけてた。視聴者でさえ羅漢が悪者だと思ってたし。

The sad thing lakan and fengxian could have spend so much time with each other if a lot people would have more trust in each other. But life is so regulated Back then that everyone just asumed there was malious intent from the other side. Even the viewer believed it was lakan being evil.

やり手婆が鳳仙を猫猫から隠したのは、鳳仙が自分の指と赤ん坊の指を切ったからだろ。そんな人間を誰が子どもに会わせるかよ。確かに隠してはいたけど、稼ぎもないうえに店を潰しかけた鳳仙を、それでも住まわせて、食べさせて、看病してたんだ。むしろ婆さんは鳳仙をひいきしてたと言っていい。

Grandma hid Fengxian from Maomao because she cut her and her baby's finger, who would let people like that meet their child. Sure grandme hid her but she still housed, fed and nursed her eventho she doesn't bring income and almost bankrupted the whole house. I'd say grandma still favoured her by doing that.

放送中ずっと、羅漢はとんでもない悪役で、そのうち本性を現すってみんな本気で思ってた。実際は被害者で、ただ父親になりたいだけだったのに。

People legit thought lakan was some super villain the whole show and going to be full blown evil when in reality he’s the victim and just wants to be dad.
